  1. I completely understand that they have no way of knowing if it will operate. I mean some act of gawd could occur that would render it unrideable. When they tell me it will operate I assume they already have the problem resolved. I hope this isn't pr mumbo jumbo. I just really love The Beast. I would love DB but when I asked for front row seats, after having people line jump all day I was refused, argh! I really need The Beast to be open
  2. Ok, so I took your advice and called. Whoever I spoke with acknowleged the issues with it last weekend, but said it would be " up and running, and to come to the park and have fun"
  3. I would call the park before you leave to make sure they got it worked out, especially if that is the attraction you really wanted to ride! Thanks! I've found the park to be hard to get a hold of, or not 100 percent honest about things. I had really bad time last year I'll try calling them Friday afternoon before I leave, hopefully they will give me an honest answer. I can't handle writing a complaint to Mr. K that probably makes it way straight to his trash can (i've only wrote him once before btw), just never got a responce
  4. Has anyone heard anything more about this? The reason I'm axing is purely selfish.. I'm driving nearly 5 hours to be there this weekend. With sob down, and my bad expierience there last year I hope The Beast is open!!
  5. Found this on theme park review from Shanes Amusement Attic and thought some of you might enjoy it. I hope this hasn't been posted before http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewt...p=738080#738080 brings back such warm fuzzy memories
  6. Is it just me, or is building a coaster this close to a parking lot reminiscent of some "theming" at Six Flags?
  7. Thanks for the clarification. I was under the assumption it was announced this past summer, and was slated to open for 2010. I never knew it was originally a project for 2009. Thanks!
  8. "Cedar Point's flume was originally ordered for delivery this year, but the company was able to defer delivery until next year" I haven't been paying much attention to the updates about "Shoot the Rapids", but does this mean the proposed attraction wont be opening in 2010, or does it mean construction wont start until 2010? Thanks!
  9. Ohhhh child! I'm going to Magic Mountain this September. I read that a few years ago some thrills could be found with the local gangs, but I guess that 'taint no more!
  10. I went on The Crypt May 24th. The park was packed that day. The ride broke down while we were waiting. All of the lights were turned on, the music went off ( it sounded like Midnight Syndicate), but an announcement was never made ( I guess that would have been too easy to do). I think we ended up waiting 45 minutes for the ride. On to the ride... 3 total spins. One in sitting position, one forward and one backward inversion. The ride lasted under 1 minute. The indoor area was filthy, and the theme is so poorly maintained. Some of the paint is peeling off of the props, so you can tell they are styrofoam. In the room before the Skeletal Rat monster thingie the brick wall facade is peeling off the wall.
  11. I went Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday) last year, and I didn't think the lines were that bad. I booked a hotel room, and got two day passes about three weeks before they announced this event (besides the weather forecast, I'm a little worried). Sigh. Someone always has to tinkle on my parade. Were was at the same park. I was there that Saturday and It was jammed packed. They had cars parking in the grass. I think I rode two maybe three rides all day long. I'm pretty sure we went on Sat. I dont think it was Sunday. It rained in the morning. The longest wait was for Firehawk. We rode SOB three times, and I cant even tell you how many times we got on the The Beast. I lost count!
  12. I don't think any of us should hold our tongues when see something wrong. We are a minority at the parks, the GP could care if a park thrives. We care to a default. I think it paticulary pains us because we spend so much time and energy to our enthusiam. I applaud you Interpreter!
