Backlot Stunt Coaster Trains Being Stripped of Their Theming
Creed Bratton replied to DBru's topic in Kings Island
HTCO, that wasn't directed toward you. With all of this, I've said my point of view. I'm out of this debate. Any further things directed toward me should be sent in a PM. -

You are the one that needs to take a chill pill sir... I'm not making something out of nothing and making claims that something is going to happen when no one really knows except park employees and the higher ups. Just saying. -

Terpy, I'm not going to comment on that except I understand where you are coming from. -

What Terpy said is correct, what is done is done. Not to mention, YOU DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON WITH BLSC AT KI! There has been no press made about any changes made. There are 2 things you're going off of, a 5@5 answer that said that there is going to be A change, the 2nd thing you're going off of is what KD did. We're not KD. KD is our sister park, things are not 100% identical. Then what is the escape if Cedar Fair dies? Chill. -

You're not looking at the big picture. In the financial state of the company that owns the park, big changes are not going to happen, give or take the changes that have to be made due to contracts, i.e. PS. You're right, doing all of those things would be difficult....and they all cost money. -

For some people, the music, the flames, the water, the fog, all add to the fun. Trust me on that. And trust me on this: I have visited guest services, and according to the wonderful folks who work there, I'm not alone: "Change things back to the way they used to be." That's what I was told is the main thing that they hear at Guest Relations. Take that for what it's worth. I understand that for some people all of that add to the fun. Hey I like it but that doesn't mean when it goes away I go berserk. I'm don't visit Kings Island just for that factor. Mainly I go to ride rides, as I know a ton of people do. I understand that people go to guest services and say change things back to the way they used to be, but hey we're no longer owned by Paramount or Taft. That's like saying "oh 1996 was such a great year let's go back and visit." That's just not possible. Things have been changed for a reason and there's nothing we can do about the changes in the past. I'm sorry to say that, because I'd like to change things but I just can't. -

We're not owned by Paramount anymore. Cedar Fair took over and in doing so, the acquired parks and were not able to break even. Two different companies dude. If you rally enough people to say, hey, a few light bulbs in the Crypt have burnt out, please change them, the park will do so. But complaining about it on a Forum that the park has no control over does nothing. I think you are completely wrong in saying that we're on track to become a lamer Cedar Point. I also think that your view on KI after it has been acquired by Cedar Fair is a bit biased. Yes, I would say that Kings Island is an amusement park now. But what's the point of going to Kings Island?????? Is it to look at all the pretty theming and notice that the music represents so much. NO. The point of going to Kings Island is to have fun. Ride rides. Hang out with friends. Do things you don't do daily. It's not sad at all. Again I say if you don't like it, why even bother if you aren't actually going to go to the park and talk to Guest Services rather than complaining on KIC? -

Just give it up! There are times when the parks will work on ride vehicles throughout the season. Why do they have maintenance departments throughout the year. You do not even know 100% sure what the changes to BLSC will be, so why are you freaking out about it. If it happens it happens. We cannot do anything to change it. You are right, if these things were to happen, it would be so distanced from Italian Job. That's the point. Backlot Stunt Coaster does not equal Italian Job Stunt Track. With your argument about spending money.... would you prefer them continually spending money on contracts that are unnecessary, having effects that are breaking down more often than not, etc. that they keep spending unnecessary money and go even further into debt? Yeah, let's do that! Send the company down the drains!!! I say if you absolutely are appalled (like you sound you are) about a possibility of roller coaster trains being modified that you just don't even know how someone could even support it or ride the ride because it takes down the overall experience, don't ride it. Find a new experience you like! -

Backlot Stunt Coaster Trains Being Stripped of Their Theming

You didn't answer my questions. Yes, you answered: "Of course it's careless... Look at them! They're rather have repulsive looking trains than to have really cool looking ones." But you didn't answer my question whether or not you knew for a fact that changes are careless, useless, etc. What I am getting at, is trying to figure out if you've actually talked to officials at KI or with CF and asked them about the changes and got to the meat and potatoes about this "issue". Because right now you are just speculating and creating an issue that doesn't need to be there. Another question for you: What is the name of the ride? Back Lot Stunt Coaster. Right? Does the ride manufacturer and name of the ride absolutely call for the trains to look like BMW's? Stunt Coaster---I think of bare minimum vehicles. You're "doing stunts". What is CF trying to do right now? Be acquired by another company to help take care of their debts, right? CF can't just give up the parks. That's be like saying "well we're no longer in charge and we'll leave the park SBNO." CF will have the park until someone completely acquires it. -

Do you know that for sure? Do you know that it's useless, careless, and plain old stupid? Or are you just tiffed and assuming? -

Agreed!!!!!!!!! My biggest thing is, change happens no matter what. Even if Paramount still had the park, something would have changed and a bunch of people wouldn't be happy. Step back, BE THANKFUL that we have Kings Island to go to!!! Yes I don't like some of the changes that have happened with the park since CF took over, but hey, I'm thankful every time I go to KI because I can go have fun, the real reason of going to KI, not some silly decals, theming, etc. Yes, it does add to the overall experience, but it is not the only thing that this park needs to focus on. I'm thankful that when I am a guest, I am treated as one. Just sayin' -
Yeah Firehawk....they suggested everyone just check out the facebook page....I know Don ran the insider, wonder if he's stepping down or what.

Apparently http://kingsislandinsider.blogspot.com/ is no longer online.

That ride looks like fun!
-
Totally agree!!!! Not sure what king of flat could go in there...but I'd rather see a flat than a go kart track.....that's what other businesses are for...not KI.
-
Spotlights....yes!
-
I love this, especially seeing King Cobra. Brings back memories What ride had the yellow loop?
-
Tony Douglass added this picture to KI's Facebook Page....I never knew Phantom Theater looked like this!!
-
I heard that Kings Island was going to remove Delirium because of CP's MaxAir (it had more ridership and won the competition).

You are baffled by people bringing up two of the most heavily themed rides Paramount installed? What is so baffling? Should the lack of themeing for Face/ Off or Drop Zone be discussed? I am baffled that you mention themeing, but then bring up ride placement. And what is the point to your comment that some of the younger KI park patrons are growing and can barely remember the 'tiques? It really makes me belive you are trying to make the point that things that happened 5+ years ago just don't count anymore. And no, if the 'tiques were removed for a ride like Maverick at CP, there would not be negative comments as WWL was removed for a far superior ride. I understand that you must have forgotten, not only were the 'tiques removed, but so were the very popular Flying Eagles. Perhaps the 'tiques could not have been relocated in the park, but the Eagles certainly could have been. Yes, Swan Lake was removed for DB. But it was removed for a world class coaster. Unfortunate decision, but acceptable. Top Gun was not built as Top Gun, but rather Thunder Road. Paramount changed the name after the purchase. I couldn't agree more with goodyellowkorn182. I think the point was to say things change...that's the way the world works. Some changes are good some changes are bad....we've just got to live with them. yes, Backlot Stunt Coaster could have been placed somewhere else, but it wasn't. Yes, I MISS THE ANTIQUES but I realize that they were taken out for probably several reasons, but I'm not always crying about missing them. I think that he brought up the issue of ride placement because there are sooooo many people who are always complaining about where rides have been placed. KI will never please everyone at the park to where they place the rides, for example say the park owners decide to put another coaster next to Firehawk or behind it, people will complain that its too much of a walk to get to that ride. As for the removal the comment about the younger patrons that can barley remember the antiques, I believe that goodyellowkorn182 was pointing out the fact that patrons during the reign of the antiques are the only ones that who will remember them not to say that they do not remember them. I never got to ride the Flying Eagles...wish I could have though....but hey I can just enjoy the memories of others on that. I do miss Swan Lake but I'd rather have DB! I'm not sure where else it could have gone though....so I give a two thumbs up for the location! Was Top Gun really named Thunder Road?!?!?! That's cool...did not know that!

I'm with ya!!! However, having an awesome coaster right above it makes the picture all the better! I will miss Nick Universe....but I'm excited for the changes.....just looking at Nick U got bland for me....here's to hoping a great thing will happen when all will see Planet Snoopy!
