Gatekeeper was built this year, and they remodeled the front gate. I was reading somewhere on here that they announced there's going to be something in 2014. Hold on lemme find that link.

That's nothing. When my sister and I both worked at KI in 2005, she ended up getting sent to the funnel cake stand on I-Street one night, and we didn't get out of there until 2am - and then only because she told them she had to go because her ride was waiting. Being on I-Street, that stand is one of the last to close, and apparently takes a really long time to clean up (why it takes so long is beyond me - surely it doesn't take more than an hour or two to clean the machines, sweep, mop, etc.) Nope. There's a reason you don't see them much during the hotter months. Mike - two words. Powdered. Sugar. Lol. It gets very messy in there. Powdered sugar gets everywhere!!! You have to Saran Wrap everything and put it up, take apart and clean the pop machines, clean out the fryers, clean all the counters, do all the dishes, clean the windows and patio, sweep and mop all the floors, re-assemble things.... Food area managers are VERY meticulous about how clean those stands are. They gotta be spotless. Powdered sugar is a bear to clean up bc when it's wet it sticks lol

Ok I know I'm really slow but what's up with CP 2014?! Any more news on that? I haven't been up there since 2010... Is there any construction going on there?!
-
Diamondback construction started around the same time as this project did. I have pics from opening day in 2008 with lots of work going on in the old swan lake area. So I think it's safe to assume a large coaster
-
What if they was taking pictures of you? I'm just kidding it isn't a big deal she was on the visitor parking lot. Unless Kat ran over the guards gate. jk Thank you Kat for the pictures but we all gotta becarful one way or another. You're welcome I wasn't thinking about the recent incident, probably bc I only come on here a few times a year and didn't witness what all happened, just heard about it I assume full responsibility for the photos and my actions
-
I'm still hoping for a Gatekeeper type coaster though I doubt that's what this is. I am sure it will be big bc of how early they started construction. I don't remember them starting construction on Diamondback as early as they did for 2014 Coaster.

Look I understand y'all's concern. I do. I know what happened that caused a lot of trouble and that wasn't my intention at all. NO ONE on here told me to go there and take pics. I did it bc I wanted to see, and thought I would share with you all. If you are worried about them causing trouble I will happily remove the post. Yeah I guess maybe by legal definition I did trespass but I took full responsibility for what I did and I caused no harm to the property or anything on the property In no way did anyone on this site tell me to do so or encourage me to do so and in no way did I do so because I felt obligated to I am a photographer. I take my camera darn near everywhere always looking for something new to photograph to share with the world. That was the point of today. Capture something new that I hadn't seen pics of before, satisfy my curiosity, and share what I found with the world I will gladly go remove the post if that's what you all want!! I'm not here to cause trouble or get the site shut down and in trouble. I'm just here to try and have fun and add a little fuel to the fire of speculation

Thanks for sticking up for me I didn't go snooping around. I parked in a parking lot and walked on a grassy hill. I don't think that's any more troublesome than parking in the grass right outside the facility and taking pics heck they probably would prefer you park in the lot vs on the grass outside by the road

Favorite ride at Cedar Point.
Kat replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well, I've only been once, and only got to ride three coasters, but Millennium Force was my favorite. Such a pretty view going up the hill, and such a pretty blur during the ride lol. Sorry if I spelled that ride wrong. -
its actually not KI who puts on this event, its the Cincy GLBT center, we choose not to make season passes vaild because the ticket sales of pride night go towards the operations at the GLBT center. (we buy out the park, so all ticket sales go towards GLBT center, not KI)Ah ok that makes sense. I thought it was another case of KI being stingy LOL.Nope nope, not at all, we are very blessed that the park lets us rent out every September, hope you come out! I won't be attending. I have no money (lost my job in June) and am hoping to attend Fall Freakout at CP at the end of September if I can come up with the funds but I wish y'all a fun successful event and most importantly peaceful!

What is it with Kings Island and not making season passes valid for any other event they do?? I remember they used to say not valid for The Haunt and they weren't valid for Winter Fest. Seems stupid to me, but from what I remember from working there it always has a good turn out, and that was over 5 years ago

If you want me to delete the post and links to the pics so no one gets in trouble I will. No one but myself influenced my decision to go there and take pics. I never meant to cause trouble or risk this site or anyone on here getting in trouble.

Kat, I know you're new to the site, but KIC recently had a MAJOR issue which involved the subject of people trespassing where they don't belong. It caused some trouble for the site, and no one here wants that to happen again. I know I'm not the forum police or anything, but I just want to issue a friendly reminder to people - everyone - that they should NOT be trespassing in order to get photos. She didn't trespass. She said she took them from her car on the public drive. She didn't say she remained in the car. She just said she pulled in the lot. Some of those areas in the photos are in the back area of the property on the side of the building, and they're over 500' away from the parking lot which is in front of the office. I'll concede she may have used a good zoom lense. I'm not bashing. I'm just humbly advising. K this I will respond to. I went to CSF and pulled into the lot next to the actual factory that said visitors lot. I took the risk upon myself to take photos knowing full well I could get cops called on me. That's why when I mentioned last night about going there today I didn't mention what time. I figured there wouldn't be anyone there on a Sunday, but already decided in advance if there was I wouldn't be stopping. There was no one there. I got out of the car and for the most part stayed on the grassy hill next to the gravel lot of the factory. I used an 18-55mm zoom lens for pics of the truck right up front to get full length shots. I used an 80-200mm zoom lens for more close up shots of the track on the truck up front so y'all could see details, and used the same 80-200mm lens to get pics of the rust colored track, the stuff in the back of the building and the trucks at the far end of the lot. I knew even being in the visitors lot I could have gotten in trouble for trespassing and I took that risk upon myself. No one on this forum encouraged me to go there my brother told me that B&M uses CSF for their North American coasters and my fiancé grew up in Williamsburg and is familiar with the area and knew exactly where to go I did this partly to give you all cool new pics and partly bc I am a very curious person and wanted to see for myself.

What park is getting a coaster named Banshee? *face palm* I'm not even gonna waste my energy explaining this one.... I'm out. Too much tension and bickering today for my liking.
-
Yeah I was wondering if those were support beams (figured they were). I was wondering why they were black, but was thinking maybe, like the track, they haven't been finished yet? Though if they are unfinished they need to finish soon b/c they'll be going in I'm guessing starting at the end of the month, as soon as daily operation is done for the season and they go back to weekends.

Did you see the pics of the coaster track I just posted on page 564?? Definitely doesn't look like wing rider track. Looks like invert track. Could you show me a pic of what wing rider track where the car hung below the track would look like? Or what the b&m code for it would be? Did you read my post at all? Wow. Chill out. No need to be rude at all! And yes I did read, but the track shape and size doesn't look nearly wide enough for a wing rider. As far as hung below the track like flight deck, it could very well be that, as the two types of track are very similar, but I am calling invert because if they are looking for a unique, different ride to put in Action Zone, a full invert would fit the bill versus suspended. Invertigo is not a full invert, and Flight Deck is your suspended coaster, so a full invert would fit well for unique. That and I just can't picture a suspended coaster being able to handle that many inversions... or any... but that's just me. Also why would there be an invert part number on the blueprints (assuming, again, those are real, which I and many others believe they are....) if it was going to be something other than invert? As much as I would love a wing rider, I don't think we are going to see that for Banshee.

here's all the pics I took at Clermont Steel Fabricators. There are 16 total so I figured I would just link to the album vs. putting 16 photos on here.... http://s7.photobucket.com/user/Kat_thecatlover/library/KI%202014%20Coaster
