I wouldn't call him an enthusiast as well. Having worked on the ride while he's visited, having several conversations and rides with him, he is probably one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Getting to know him personally as a crew was great! We all found out that he was a retired minister and has done various other things with his life. On my 300th ride (yes I've counted) he rode with me and bought my on ride photo for me without me even knowing. He brought it to me later and said that it was for me. Gary is a great guy with a great heart! The only time I've ever seen him get "nasty" with anyone is when they've done something against park policy. I've seen numerous people talking about how they can't stand the guy yet they've never gave themselves the chance to actually get to know him. I talked to him at DBs exit last year. Just askd him what ride he was on and some small talk. He was polite but I could tell he really didn't want to talk to me, but oh well, can't change other people.

Dominator is one of my favorite rides! People always talk bad about it but I love it! EDIT: I was just looking at a Dominator POV and it looks similar to the footers we have now. When I thought about it I thought of the first drop banking behind Slingshot and then going down into the valley from there. I don' know just a thought I had.

It is very sad. I remember my dad and I would always ride that. Its a shame this happened.

Just a neat little fact about that area, there is actually a Indian Burial Ground right behind the building that caught fire. Just thought I would contribute that.

I see what your saying but you have to think about how much money the park would loose to just tear it down now. I think it would be more likely to have a major adjustments including different trains. Hopefully that would make the ride better as well.

Big Dipper is at the front of the park right by the road. Dodgems are near the back middle part of the park near the train and Swan ride. If any coaster was damaged it would have been the Little Dipper, but it's on the other side of the walkway so think it's safe.

I saw that on Twitter this morning and instantly thought of that when I read your post. I also wonder why Mr. Ouimet was there. He was probably just checking out the progress.

Firehawk. Definitively. I don't think I've ridden it since 2011. It just scares me.

My guess is that STR will be severely modified to prevent, not just this, but many other accidents from happening.

Better safe than sorry! Wait times can wait if it prevents things like this from happening.

You can do a lot How so? How can you keep a boat from going backwards? Well? You got me terp, what I mean is I'm going to be more alert when riding any rides anywhere. I disagree. If your more aware you can react quicker and possible get out of a sticky situation in a better way.

This event will always go through my mind while cresting the 2nd hill on Diamondback. Not trying to poke fun at this situation.

IM just surprised that nobody passed away! I've heard reports of the boat being underwater for minutes! I couldn't imagine holding my breath that long. Even though it a tragedy it truly is a miracle.

Oh my, at least in those cases it wasn't the rides fault. But still ,any bad incidents like this is very bad...
