Wow, I think it is! Its sad to see the ride in that bad of shape.... I didn't notice that earlier...

Just checked Twitter and Greg posted some photos, wanted to update you guys

I know that it was highly unlikely to happen. I just thought it would be interesting. One can always dream right???

^ I think that would be very cool. But, I dont think they want to make a scene at all. But is the coaster and its trains even in a good enough shape to be ran? Its been 3 years of just sitting there. But I dont know... just a theroy Thats true. But, you mentioned making a scene about Son of Beast. I agree with you about that but KIPR and Greg posted pictures of the demolition on Twitter. I would think that would get more publicity than just running a train though one more time. The most concerning factor is probably the trains. I think they have been sitting in this dirt patch since 2010. It would be hard to believe that those trains could be run in that condition. This past May I walked in the JDRF Walk to cure Diabetes. The path goes back through SoB, under the hill and past the Rose Bowl, it really is a magnificent sight to see back there. I took several photos like the one post above (and the ones Ive posted in Random Photo of the Day). I really didnt get to stop and "drool: over it because honestly, I thought I would be back there again next year. The announcement caught me so off guard it was like getting punched in the stomach!

That actually looks really nice! I live about 20 minutes from Camden but have yet to make it down there this season to ride it.

I was really hoping they would run one last empty train before demolition. I would love to see that video on Youtube every so often!

Thank you Beastie1980! I absolutely love to see all the demo pictures. I am going on Oct 14th. I assumed that the majority of SoB would still be there but now I dont know. It may just be the station and the lift hill!

Wow thats a lot. I hope someone can get a close up picture or a view from The Eiffel Tower or something. I really want to see it.

I think Drop Tower is not down a lot, but a good bit of the time. I definitively would not call it reliable.

Im not bashing Cedar Fair in anyway, I love them. But, it is sort of sad to see that wide spread publicity is what it takes to make sure that safety is top priority.

Sorry for the double post. If Im looking at this right, did they pretty much just cut SoB in half with the demolition so far? They took down that part in the brake run last week. This picture that was just posted looks like the section of track that was just demolished is lined up with the part destroyed in the brake run. So now they have the lift hill/2nd helix part of the ride on one half, and the Rose Bowl in the 2nd half. This would make sense due to Wolf Pack still being in the station. Next they would destroy the Rose Bowl and they would only have the first half to demolish. IS that too confusing?

IS that the top of the Rose bowl or crest of the second hill? Nevermind, he states it in his post.

The way I see it is that this site is for the discussions. IF you want to find out whats at KI you should just go to their website. Also, if you are on this website you are probably very familiar with all the attractions/info on Kings Island anyway.

^ I believe it still says new for 2007, Firehawk! At least it said that a little bit ago. Their is a bunch of small things that are not very important as well. Overall I think this is a great site. Im also a member of KIE but dont really care for it that much.... They still have Son of Beast listed too! Wonder how long that will satay on here?

^^ T Hose are my new desktop background! (Hope you dont mind.) I have a question for anyone who can answer; Is their an official place where the park uploads all the demolition photos? If so, where is it?

Most downtime there, from what I've seen, is fairly short (<30 minutes) in duration. It's gone down multiple times when I've been either in the station or in the queue. Having TTD running probably a huge maintenance priority. That queue is often a frustrating one to wait in. The split doesn't always result in fair wait times, and you have to navigate a station crammed with 4-5 trains worth of people. I agree. I absolutely hate the queue for TTD, and the split is the worst part. For me, it seems like the station is always crammed and its just a mess. Its well worth the wait though!

^ I love TTD, its one of my all time favorite coasters. But you cant deny it has quite a large amount of downtime...
