But the whole reason they are so uncomfortable in the first place is safety. They substituted comfort for saftey, with SOB being the first looping wooden and all. They had to take extreme precautions to make sure there was absolutely no possibility of anyone falling out.

Hrrrmmmm... I would have to say the show 24. But instead of an episode, since it take place in a day, it would have to be the entire season. Of which none of us would mind, I'm sure. The plot would consist of a major political figure visiting relatives in Cincinnati, OH for the weekend. On Saturday, he visits the park with his grand daughter and grandson, who are around ten and twelve. Early in the day they board Drop Zone and the ride gets stuck. This is all planned out by an underground terrorist organization who is angry about a statement made by the political figure during a recent speech. They are mad enough to kill him. They plan on nocking out both the main power grid and the backup immediately after the ride has recovered and has dropped. It is up to What's His Face to go behind the terrorist's defenses and stop the gruesome massacre from taking place. All in 24 hours...

Personaly, I don't think any part of SOB is uncomfortable, excluding the first dip down the helix. I'm a tall, average build teenager and I fit perfectly. It's actually sometimes more comfortable than other traditional lap bars because you are more snug and your knees can't hit the front of the car. I just tuck my legs back and it's fine. I don't know about the rest of you.

I don't have the book, but I'm guessing it's either that it was taken before it was "Paramount's" and claims not to be, or something about the date. Is that close?
-
Yeah, for it to be "official", the park has to ask the author to do the book, not the other way around. Am I right on this IC?
-
You're right about the park area and vicinity. The only places that have grown at all pretty much since Paramounts bought the place is Action Zone and Water Works. I think that is kinda lame if you ask me. Poor Coney Mall looks all run down while AZ is all clean and spiffy. Poor Coney Mall...

I still don't understand about the new restraints. Are they going to be like an Intamin restraint, as on Millenium Force? Those don't look like they would fit. I think it is the lack of leg room that's the problem, not the lap bars. How could they fix that?

You "looky looky Italian" you...

So it WAS you promoting the book as I was boarding The Beast. I mentioned it in the beggining of the post sorta, and you avoided it. I had a sneaking suspicion.
-
It is the fact that there are tons of other posts like this, and after a while it gets old. That's all.

Paramount's Cedar Point? coooooool.... I would take Top Gun (obviously) and replace it with Stealth. It might have sucked at Great America, but think about it in the woods...

Drop Zone...Do YOU think it's intense?
CantStopCabron replied to PKICoasterFreek's topic in KI Polls
Given my vivid imagination, I would have to say "Yes, sort of intense". I never fail to create overly vivid pictures of the gruesome death that would partake me if the magnents failed, or worse, reversed. -
We've sorta been over this. It's basically impossible, or too complicated, to change it in a short amount of time. Everything, effects, music, waterworks, is timed to the ride. So, to change it would completely set it off cue from everything. The music would stop too soon, the lights would go on, water would shoot up when nothing was there. It would just be a mess. No, there has been no changes.
-
I completely agree with fyrfyter on this. What's the point people? We all know where a ride would fit nicely and such, but if you really honestly care, then go and work for PKI's planning department. I am sure there are more than 10 posts exactly like this one, so why are we constantly discussing things that we have not choice in the matter. It's like slaves discussing when they should be freed. I think we should all find better things to talk about, especially since the changes are a year away. How about funny things at the park, or weather forcasts. Even complaining Gold Pass members can be more exciting. Go play RCT if you need to customize your Kings Island.

I thought Weird Al WAS a madman. Did anyone actually WATCH the Running With Scissors DVD. Man that was messed. Beware... the MATRIX has you. "Naw, I know all about it. I've seen the movie."

Tottaly agree with Dane.

Yeah, you REALLY lost me there. I thought you were going back to 72, but then you were in 94, and then somewhere else at an execution. Wow man, that's crazy. You've had WAY too much coffee for one day. It was fun though, I admit. Cheers!

Usually you just need to enter it manually without the http crap. Try typing in "pkiconnect.tripod.com" manually in the bar and it ahould work.

I liked the first page (2-4) of the 1974 park "map". Man that is so true to the seventy's style. "SHERWIN-WILLIAMS is the official paint supplier of Kings Island. Consider SHERWIN-WILLIAMS..." I wonder if they still use SHERWIN-WILLIAMS.

I missread two of the questions, thus getting them wrong. Grr... you did that one purpose, you. Rock STOP and Rock SHOP, man you suck.

How Long Do you Have to Wait For SDATHC?
CantStopCabron replied to GreenGhost2003's topic in Coming Attractions
Yeah, Scooby's line is never horrible, just intimidating. It always looks so long, so people shy away from it. Usually it stays at an average around 30 min. Even if it looks long, it probablly isn't. -
Wow are you people starstruck. It would be cool, but is a lengthy discussion meaninguful at all? It's not like LA is the only place famous people ever occupy, lol. I think the only famous person I've ever met is the producer of 24 and one of the screenwriters, plus Jacob Heintz from Buckra, if that counts.
