  1. I think that after people complained so much about the extreme rides (head banging, too rough), they toned down and did family themed rides. Then they decided to break the adult world into heavily themed rides with Tomb Raider, where it is not the acual ride but the general experience. I agree we will never be like Orlando's parks, but we are getting the legs for it. You have to agree that Tomb Raider is pretty darn close (if not all the way) to Disney quality.
  2. I was upset that TR:TR was closed all day yesterday, it being one of my favorite rides in the park and my friend had never ridden it. I did, in fact, get to ride it on the Sneak Peak night. It was opening just as I was passing by, and me and three friends rushed in. We got to the third chamber where you watch the movie and then all the lights shut off and the backups kicked in. We waited about 30 minutes to ride, but we had nothing better to do. Just chatted to the crew and watched the super human staff open the huge stone slab with their bare hands. I hope TR:TR doesn't act up like this all season.
  3. I have heard two things concerning the SoB and it's restraints. One rumor is that the restraints are either shipping in or getting installed on the one train, so they kept one train running. Another rumor is that there are no restraints getting installed, only the old restraints are getting new padding. I have no clue which one to beleive. Also, if you want a better/smoother ride, sit over the wheels and close to the back or front. It is acualy fairly smooth if you follow that advice.
  4. Personally, I pick Delirium. Great ride.
  5. I saw some guy on The Beast asking the people to work there to solicit the book while they got the crowd going. Or at least I think that is what he was doing, but I was on the train leaving the station as he was asking, so I could have heard wrong or something. But other than that I didn't go into any shops for lack of cash.
  6. It's not false advertising when they say pass holders get in before the public. That is still true. Employees aren't the public either. Anyways, they have been doing this for a while now. It's always the same rules. (I think)
  7. They did. Not on purpose though. Safety.
  8. I could have sworn (well, I guess I have) that the brakes were still there last year. Hmm... I guess your right. I am a newbie on the site (hate that name), so I guess you are right.
  9. Sort of a random question to be asking at this time of night before opening day, but did they ever get those dreaded brakes on The Beast fixed? Man that stunk last year.
  10. LOL! No clue how that happened. That happens to me sometimes over at CoasterBuzz. It's annoying. I've seen a guy enter five of the same message. That was weird.
  11. But maybe this year people will learn that it is allways filled beyone capacity and not go! Then we could have the park to ourselves! Ohh wait, I found a flaw in my logic... PEOPLE NEVER LEARN! (except for us enthusiasts of course)
  12. The question is a little vauge. If you mean "ride" as "roller coaster", I would pick SoB, a close vote against it's dad (they killed him with the brakes). If you ment "ride" as in "flat ride", then obviously TR:TR.
  13. You HAVE been to PKI before on Sneak Peak night, right? My pops works for LaRosas and we get free passes every year. It never fails to be crowded when the weather is nice. (reference to last year)
  14. What currect resident of Cincinnati that remotely enjoys amusement parks wouldn't be excited. I know I am. The park has done a phenominal job cleaning up. Delirium looks like one H**l of a trip too, and you gotta love shooting rides, corny or not.
  15. Welcome. I am new here also, and this place definately has a better "feel" than CB. (I'm Tyler Smetts on CB, but I stopped posting there cus the people were just a tad to picky)
  16. But don't you think a massive steel would end up crushing the park's atmosphere? I do. The great thing about PKI is that is is relatively normal, but it does what is can do in an extrodinary way. At CP you can hear screams all the way across the park resonating from MF, and soon TTD. I can't see this fitting in anywhere at PKI. I like the direction they are going with Huss' Land of Giants. It is a sight to see, but still relatively small. If they do build a new steel coaster anytime in the future, I would wish they design it the way they did The Beast. Fit it to the landscape. Blend it in. Make it seem more forboding than nausia-inducing. That would just be the PKI way. Anyone else agree?
