  1. Since I will be processing my Cedar Point Platinum Passes at Kings Island the day I go, I shouldn't have any problem getting into Kings Island right? The real problem will be when I get back home and go to Cedar Point?
  2. How far is Microtel from Kings Island? I know there's mapquest, but the REAL drive, with traffic. *EDIT* Nevermind, my gameplan all along has been to book the day of, because if it's going to rain I don't want to come down. But thanks for looking. Now, Selective, are there any other of these "motels" you speak of? I really like the idea of a fridge and microwave. I could store my breakfast and lunch (cooking b-fast in the microwave) for the three days and easily pay for the hotel/motel in money saved.
  3. If you're gonna get your pass procesed onthe 23rd, then you might as well head into KI for a couple hours and have fun I would certainly go in too, the problem is, I don't know if I show up the 23rd at 8 or 9 if the processing center will even be open or not. Can anyone confirm; will the processing center be open until 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23rd?
  4. I plan on coming down for the 24th and 25th. If I get to my hotel at around 7:30 on that Friday night (the 23rd), can I run over to the park, around 8 or 9ish, and process my platinum pass? I know that's late, but it looks like the park is open until 10:00 p.m. that Friday, so perhaps the processing center is as well? I could just do it the morning of the 24th, but it would be nice to have it out of the way.
  5. Thanks man! I plan on coming down with my wife, I'm going to jot down a bunch of numbers for all of these hotels and just make reservations that Friday (23rd) while we drive down. You don't think there's any chance that, on that Friday, everyone of the 5 or 6 aforementioned hotels/motels are booked full, do you?
  6. I would like the best deal on a room with a Queen Bed, a mini-fridge and a microwave, any suggestions? Do any of the motel 8's or $50 hotels offer that???
  7. Yes you are correct. Early ride times for Diamondback and Beast are an hour early starting April 17. Awesome, thanks! Also, are there picnic areas outside of the park like at CP? I love just dropping a cooler full of lunch off and not having to worry about it until lunch time. Saves serious cash too
  8. Am I correct in reading that early entry is now beginning for DB and Beast with the park on opening day? Meaning if I go down for April 24th and 25th I will be able to get in early with my CP platinum pass???
  9. I notice just how many quality coasters KI has that CP really doesn't. Don't get me wrong, CP is still king in my opinion, but we don't have a flyer (Firehawk), quality woody (Beast), quality dark ride (Flight of Fear), boomerang (Invertigo), or a coaster like Diamondback, so I'm really looking forward to KI for more than just the coaster fix. I'll make sure I tackle those 5 while I'm out there, then follow up with others mentioned, if possible (like Vortex, Flight Deck, Top Gun, etc.).
  10. What are the must ride coaster and the should ride coasters? For example, at CP I would say Maverick, Millennium Force, and Dragster are must rides, and Magnum, Raptor, and Wicked Twister are should rides. Mean Streak is rough, Mantis is painful/little boring, Corkscrew is boring, Iron Dragon is boring, and Gemini isn't anything to write home about. Let me know, so I can make sure I tackle all the best KI has to offer!
  11. I'm debating on swinging by Cedar Points processing center on a Friday (the 23rd) before the evening drive down to Kings Island. That will take care of the Platinum Pass issue. I'm thinking I will head down the 2nd weekend (23rd - 25th). Thanks for all your help guys. Let me know if I'm forgetting anything! I haven't been to KI in probably 10 years. Looking forward to trying out Beast, Diamondback, and Firehawk.
  12. I live about 3 1/2 hours from the park. I have a platinum pass I purchased from Cedar Point that I need to process. I would like to come down to King's Island on one of the 4 weekends before CP opens to get my coaster fix, but there are a few questions I have to try and maximize my enjoyment there. - What are the crowds like on opening day? What are they like the weekend after opening day? two weekends after? - Can I process my CP Voucher without issue at KI's processing center when I arrive without any problem or hassle? How long will this take? - The gates don't open up 1 hr. early for platinum passholders for Diamondback and Beast until May 1st, does this mean it is worth it to wait the extra two weeks to come down to take advantage of these early entry? Answers to these questions would help me greatly in determining when to come down. I plan on spending the night in a hotel on Friday night and enjoying the park all day Saturday. Thanks!
  13. I know these questions aren't 100% answerable, but for kicks, do you think we can expect a statement from the park concerning SOB before opening day?
  14. Not to be a complete newb here, but is there any chance SOB will be open for Opening Day? Or is that pretty much out of the question?
