Well, it looks like about the only pics I have left are from the Enchanted Voyage. I do have lots of photos from the dolphin show and Conway Twitty concert, but they all show basically the same thing. I suppose today's pic is from the Enchanted Voyage, but I don't know what these clowns have to do with Hanna Barbera cartoons.

Man, there were so many Hanna Barbera cartoons that I never heard of, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids being one of them. Thanks for the replies!

More Enchanted Voyage today. Does anyone know who this dog is? It isn't suppose to be Scooby, is it?
-
Todays pic is kind of dark, but I believe this character is from the Banana Splits. This is also from the Enchanted Voyage.

In regards to that Beastie pick from 1980, I thought it was still the Scooby Doo coaster back then. I rode it that year and I am pretty sure it was the Scooby then.

Today we return to the Enchanted Voyage. Its Gulliver and his friends from Lilliput. This was one of my favortie parts of the ride.

Little late with todays pic, as I was out of town most of the day. Yes, todays pic is of Conway Twitty in concert at KI back in 1980. I don't know if my parents knew that Conway was going to be at KI the weekend we went or if it was a suprise to them, but my mom was a big Twitty fan. I, on the other hand, was only four and has no idea who he was. I do have a vague memory of whining until my parents would take me back to my beloved Enchanted Voyage. Scooby, Yogi and the rest of the H-B gang trumped a country music legend to this four year old kid.

Today is another pic from the Enchanted Voyage. Not sure which H-B cartoon this frog is from. Anyone have any ideas?

Dollywood is working on that coaster thing, with the awesome looking Wild Eagle opening this coming season. I most likely won't be able to make it down there this year, but my son is going as part of a school trip in May.

If they think they can get the park reopened and make a go of it, I wish them the best. I'm just not very optimistic.

Today is another pic from the dolphin show in 1980. Great shot of one of the dolphins leaping out of the water and jumping through a hoop.

Todays pic is from 1975. It is one of my favorties. A great view of the fountain and the Skyride in the background just adds to the shot.

I loved the way the park was layed out and themed in the early years. It was much more than a park to ride rides. It had great atmosphere, a wide variety of shows and a great selection of food and wares for purchase. As much as I love KI today, sometimes I wish I could go back and experience the way it was years ago, just for a day.

Where would this photo have been taken at? White Water Canyon perhaps?

Todays pic is more Enchanted Voyage goodness. Scooby and Shaggy seem to be in some trouble, which they are always apt to get in to.

Thanks for posting these! All of my favortie rides from yesteryear were in your photos, they were great to see.

You are correct, my mistake. I remember hearing several years ago that Mr. Cartoon had died and I had no idea that there was someone else who played the role before Mr. Huffman. Thanks for the info.

Todays pic is from 1980. Thats me and my cousin Sondra on one of the kids rides. Does anyone know where this ride was located in relation as to what is in that spot today?

I'd like to see a wild mouse myself.

Doug Apple, head supervisor at BLSC, has passed away
rcs replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I am very sorry to hear this. I offer my deepest condolences to his friends and family. -
Well, Dinah would have been at the park on my first birthday. Too bad I was too young to know what Kings Island was. I did get a Yogi Bear cake for my first birthday party, so that was kind of a link to KI.

He was in the short 5 minute type cartoons. I have such fond memories of watching tons of Hanna-Barbera cartoons on WTTV back in the day. Kids of today really missed out not being able to sit down every day to watch cartoons with a host who introduced the cartoons...read letters from the viewers... My favorite was Cowboy Bob at lunch-time...there was also Janie in the mornings before school. Good times. (Which I am guessing Avatar, IndyGuy4KI 7 many others on here can attest too.) Growing up, I watched Mr. Cartoon on WSAZ out of Huntington, WV. I don't think he showed any H-B cartoons. I remember seeing lot of Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Popeye, and Mighty Mouse on his show. Fond memories. I grew up in Huntington too. I now live across the river in Proctorville. I loved Mr. Cartoon. My uncle, who owns Magic Makers Costumes, remade "Beeper" costume, when it needed updating. For those who do not know, Beeper was a mascot character in the vain of the Banana Splits. I wish I had a photo to share. Here is a pic of Mr. Cartoon and Beeper. Mr. Cartoon was also the weatherman on WSAZ, Jule Huffman. Sadly, he passed away several years ago.

Here is Blabber Mouse who's the sidekick of Super Snoop I feel like slapping myself in the forehead! Of course I know who Blabber Mouse is! I now remember seeing alot of those Super Snoop cartoons as a kid. It took that picture to jog my memory. Thanks for posting it!

Todays pic is from the Enchanted Voyage in 1980. I'm not sure which Hanna-Barbera character this skeleton had to do with, though I suspect it was more than likely part of a Scooby-Doo scene on the ride.
