As far as I know, none of the coaster clubs put a mailing address on your club membership card. When checking into an event, the name on your club membership card would need to match the name on your photo ID. You'll want to use your current physical mailing address when signing up, to ensure that the membership card gets to you. Changing your driver license to match your current address is also a very good idea, to ensure that you receive any notices or violations.

Where would you want KI to build their Giga? (if they do)

Could have been worse; at least you weren't on a bumpy road. -
For those who aren't already members, here are links to the websites of each recognized US-based club: ACE: http://www.aceonline.org Great Ohio Coaster Club: http://greatohiocc.org/ The Coaster Crew: http://coastercrew.net/ CoasterBuzz Club: https://coasterbuzz.com/Content/Club ClubTPR: http://www.clubtpr.com/ Each club offers different events & pricing options, so you may want to check out a few. Each club also has a different set of rules for members; I recommend reviewing these before joining. It's worth noting that HoliWood Nights at Holiday World requires a membership option of $20 or more, and Coaster Crew doesn't participate in CoasterMania at Cedar Point.

^ In recent seasons, daily operations have started at the end of the second week of May. Assuming this year's calendar is similar, they would be open daily the week preceding the event. As always, check the official park calendar before planning a visit, as operations are subject to change.

Proving once and for all that Cedar Fair is not run by the Knoebels, Knott's Berry Farm is preparing to auction some of its warehoused memorabilia this March. The collection includes animatronics that have been retired from rides, Walter Knott's Ford Model T, Knott's Scary Farm props, and (most notably) the Jennie K locomotive.which formerly operated at Cedar Point. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/knott-740497-park-auction.html

So that everyone can plan ahead, the code from your gold/platinum pass (or pass voucher) is needed to purchase Coasterstock ticket(s) at the passholder rate. If you haven't bought your pass yet, you'll want to do that first. Ticket prices don't include the order processing fee that applies to all online tickets. ($5.99 for 1-2 tickets, $7.99 for 3-4 tickets, and $9.99 for 5-10 tickets) If there are multiple people in your group, you'll want to purchase everyone's tickets in one order to save money. After buying ticket(s), each person must register for the event individually using the ticket confirmation number (i.e. step 2). You'll also want to ensure that everyone will have a valid, non-expired coaster club membership card for the club they select, as they won't get into the event without it. If anyone here (that I know) wants to combine orders in the next few days to save a couple bucks, let me know.

Yes, welcome! BLSC would be pretty intense for Planet Snoopy. Current management labels it a 5 (out of 5) on the thrill scale.

Brad's correct; the IPB4 theme is designed for videos to fill the viewport. This is, indeed, annoying on the desktop, I think Dane is working on a new theme for the forum, and we can properly address the issue then. Until then, I appended a quick & temporary CSS hack to the theme to get rid of the annoyance without affecting mobile. /*temporary desktop video fix by malem*/ @media screen and (min-width: 800px) { ipsEmbeddedVideo.ipsEmbeddedVideo_limited > div, .ipsEmbeddedVideo:not( .ipsEmbeddedVideo_limited ){ width: 50% !important; padding-bottom: 25% !important }}

^ I agree with you there; Friday evening seemed more popular than Sunday with Coasterstock attendees last year, when the event was Fri-Sun. Glad to see the return of the scavenger hunt. Anyone want to gang up to (try to) compete with Liz & gforce1994?

^ Editing has worked for me this morning. I removed the duplicate post for you. You seem to be connecting to KIC through a webhosting provider; it's possible that it's an issue with a proxy server you're using.

^ I checked the server logs. The IPB upgrade removed Tapatalk's column from the user table, and Tapatalk didn't add it back because it thought it should already be there. I manually added it back, so it should work now. Let me know.

Hawaii may have better weather, but at least Ohio has roller coasters.
-
Just noting: the mods remove images owned by others if there is no attribution and if a legitimate source can't be determined.

Yes, you can do this at the park once season pass processing opens. You will pay the difference between the current cost of a Platinum Pass and the price you paid for a Gold Pass.

Coasterstock is a lot of fun. Past years' events have included behind-the-scenes tours, guest speakers, a scavenger hunt, lots of ERT before & after park hours, and more. There is a fee to attend on top of park admission. Those without season passes can purchase a combo ticket that includes both park admission and the event. Attendees must also be cardholding members of a participating roller coaster club. Be sure to join or renew early, as membership cards are verified at check-in. Do note that attendance is capped to keep lines short & tours enjoyable. The event could sell out with the debut of Mystic Timbers, so I highly recommend signing up early!

After fixing the bug, forum titles with unread content appear bold, with read forums title appearing normal. There's also a slight difference in background color, but this is currently hard to see on some displays. If you haven't seen any changes from before, you may need to force reload (ctrl+shift+R) the page. We might tweak this further in the coming days. One thing I have noticed is that my phone battery drains quickly if I keep the new forum in a mobile tab. Not sure if this is affecting others, or if it's related to extra notifications I get as a moderator. Is anyone else seeing this? Thanks again for all the feedback on problems; keep the reports coming if you see anything else!

Just for the record, this has been debated on KIC before. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27897-intamin-or-bm/

Chris: Is the problem fixed regarding not being able to tell which forums have been read? I fixed a small bug in the theme that broke the read/unread CSS rules for those titles.

We're aware that TapaTalk isn't yet working. Dane is planning to take care of that update tonight.
-
The new version uses a single responsive theme rather than a separate mobile theme, so there's nothing to switch to. You can use CSS tweaks on your phone if you want to make it look like it does on a desktop. If people are interested, I could put instructions somewhere.

^^ That notice is for the web notifications API; see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/notification I believe IPB uses it to push notifications on mobile devices when the mobile website is loaded, but I'm not sure if it's enabled/working. ^ Some settings will need to be tweaked in the coming days. There currently seem to be a few issues with the "like" system.

After manually correcting about 50 different database errors, everything should be back online now. Let me know if you have problems. The forum is currently loading very slowly when logged in. This might be a temporary issue related to automated tasks that are continuing after the upgrade. If it continues, either Dane or I will look at it tomorrow (today). Thanks for your patience!

Just a bump to remind everyone that this is happening in a couple hours. Full backups are being made, but it is possible that a small number of posts from tonight will be lost if we have to restore a database backup. If you're working on an amazing post tonight that you don't want to lose, I'd recommend copying it into an e-mail, Google Doc, text file, etc.
