  1. Telling my Daughter that she will be OK and I will give her ten bucks to take a ride, is far from forcing her. Sometimes I went home with a lighter wallet, sometimes she wouldn't take the bait. She is learning the rides are nothing to fear and having a good time. Obviously and really goes without saying but if she actually got ill on rides she would no longer be asked to ride. As a child I needed no bribing, forcing etc. The first Coaster I ever saw I immediately wanted to ride.
  2. I witnessed something similar to that at Busch Gardens. A fellas girlfriend told him she would continue to make his pass payments after they split up. She lied.
  3. With such a large base of people and the fact that the large Coasters at BGT and other parks are very popular it as always amazed me that Florida does not have a Thrill park. I understand the need to lure families and international tourists but it seems (to me with my limited knowledge) that a Cedar Point or NJFTP would do well in the state.
  4. Laugh all you want but most of the locals LOVE the ride and are very anxious to see it open. Not sure why but they do.
  5. Local reaction to Mako has been good. Not so much for the BGT install. Some feel the park has enough Coasters as it is and should start focusing on other ideas, Dark Rides in particular,
  6. Ugh. Maybe so. However, Credit Scores have not been mentioned, unlike concerns of buying a pass next year.
  7. Well, they said they are leaving Ohio. Based upon that info I do not believe they are too concerned with how to buy a pass for NEXT year.
  8. Odd. A park makes a Coaster announcement that does NOT involve B&M and the response here is basically non existent. Oh wait, it isn't 300+ feet high.
  9. They have been doing this for a long time. First time we tried to get our Daughter to ride Adventure Express she freaked out. She was fine until she hit the seat, then the tears started flowing. We were politely told that she could not ride in that condition. The next season we decided to just ask "Do you want to try this now" once and leave it at that. It worked because eventually she rode AE, Racer and finally The Beast. She loves them all. Next step is getting her on a big Steel Coaster. She rode Cheetah Hunt last Summer and enjoyed it, even the inversion. She isn't too fond of extreme heights. My Son started out riding most anything we asked him about. These days though, he won't ride much of anything.
  10. While Cheetah Hunt is indeed a very fun Coaster, getting on it is a chore. It has the longest wait times of anything else in the park. Not lines, wait times. I miss Kings Island.............a LOT. That said I am very happy to see a B&M Hyper being installed an hour and fifteen minutes from my house. 50 percent of visitors are those of us that live here. Well, we don't have anything like this here so I foresee lots of happy folks. Except of course for the enthusiasts, just another reason for me to ignore them. As for it being a B&M, I expected nothing else. They already have two that are very good rides. The other SEAS park has three of them. They really like their reliable, easy to maintain, steel monsters. Tomorrow we will be told about the Mack being installed at BGT and maybe some folks will be happy.
  11. Just no pleasing some folks. Looks like a fun ride to me but won't know for sure until I am able to ride it. Will have to keep an eye out for construction on my next trip.
  12. The 80s store is a good one. We visit the Ten Dollar Tree from time to time to check out the clearance items.
  13. Looking at the Radar, it is gonna be a very wet day at the Park.
  14. Regular old Rain and Storms shouldn't close the park. One day we had a particularly heavy and long bout of Rain. Something kept telling me to wait it out, so we did. After about 4 hours we were left with a nearly empty park. Had 5 hours to ride all we could stand.
  15. Just curious but what dimension are you from? Where I am, today is the 24th.
  16. I remember attending the first "Coasting for Kids" and having a blast on Racer until I ended up in a "Wheel" seat. Riding there for a couple rounds effectively ended my riding that day.
  17. Yes it is. I love taking first timers on the ride. The entire ride up the second hill I tell them to get ready because the crazy part is coming, get ready to flip, etc. Their cry of "what the"? when nothing happens makes me smile every time. For once I agree with Don'tWant. I always get the jitters on my first trip of a new season and head right for Diamondback and get on the back row. Nothing like a back seat ride on the tallest Coaster in the park to make your mind realize you love riding.
  18. Took a ride on the reopened Serengeti Railway this afternoon. Not much to be seen in the construction area, aside from Dirt, Equipment and a few Footers.
  19. I like both Coke and Pepsi but prefer Coke. Prefer Sierra Mist to Sprite but can drink either one just fine. Dr. Pepper is good. Root Beer is better than all of it. Mt Dew? Please keep that nasty stuff away from me. Much like Beer, I have no idea how people can drink it without wanting to puke. I can drink Mello Yello easier but prefer not to. As for Frisch's, we had one back in Elizabethtown for a couple years. The food quality slowly slid into the crapper and the place quietly closed down. I love the Buddy Boy sandwich.
  20. Whatever, fly that proud Six Flags banner high in the sky. It's all good. Folks in Kentucky know that it was SIX FLAGS Kentucky Kingdom. I remember the constant running of those dreadful dancing old guy commercials every time I came home to visit. Regardless of regime change, I still won't go to one. Kind of silly on my part but I'm silly like that. I'm missing out on some great rides. My feelings on Disney parks are changing so maybe I will finally go to a Six Flags park some time. Great Adventure still intrigues me.
  21. Maybe. But the cost is REALLY going to need to come down so that the savings are realized. I can buy a 75W flood light for around $4-5 for outside. An equivalent LED bulb is north of $25. I'd feel much better about making the environment greener if some of that meant more green stayed in my virtual wallet. Not gonna happen. Much like how eating healthy costs twice what not eating healthy does. The powers that be aren't stupid and know every trick to maximizing their bank accounts.
  22. The best seat? The one I am sitting in. It has been nearly a month since my last rides. Will be taking care of that this weekend. My last one before my family finally joins me
  23. I've seen people do better paint jobs with Spray cans than some professionals with thousands of dollars in equipment. Hell, you can get roll on automotive paint that when done properly nets better results as well.
  24. To the general population, it doesn't matter how many leadership changes have happened. A young girl had her feet severed on a ride at a Six Flags park.
