05/21 CP trip
crosscountry4891 replied to Coasterfan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm going this Saturday. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to ride first? What order to ride things in? What to avoid? -
Wow, that's amazing because I was walking off PsychoPath around 9 PM last night. I didn't notice anything when I was walking through except for a guy not being able to get his chainsaw to start.

No, you don't have to be affiliated with any group. Go to www.jdrf.org to register. And you can get in with your pass. Or you can just go here.

This Saturday, (10/9) my school is going to the Walk to Cure Diabetes at PKI. Our Honor Society leader said that the walk goes all the way around the park, including outside the park, like back in the forest. He said we get to go under the coasters (under The Beast and SoB). Does anyone know if this is true? Is anyone else going?
-
At least it has an original name instead a name that is used for 10+ rides. (Superman, Batman...)
-
How was the park overall? I've heard a lot of bad TRs from people who have been there. How was Superman and Predator? How does Viper compare with Vortex?

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

I saw it and it was awesome. Lots of action and a good plot. Plus, it's never a bad thing to see Anglelina Jolie -
No, its wrong, for reasons I cannon't tell you. Man, everything PKI related is always "restricted." First the lights on TR:TR which were because of "reason we can't tell you" and now you can't tell us the launch speed on FoF? Why not? It's not like there's any liability issues. It doesn't make sense, so much info about the park is "restricted", but it's only an amusement park!!!! Dane-How do you know all this stuff that we can't know if you don't even work in the park?

Whats the worst rumor about PKI of all time?
crosscountry4891 replied to TheSnapper's topic in Rumors
heh, one time i suggested to my friend that we go to KI, but he refused and said that he heard that there was low staffing and because of that Vortex got stuck in the loop. it was so stupid not only because of the loop part, but low staffing would have nothing to do with it getting stuck! -
Yeah, if you ride recaR you can see them neatly parked behind the Coney Mall Games. You can also see some of the fearfest stuff behind there.
-
I don't think that's very likely. Theres always a line for the flyers, and theres plenty of room for them somewhere else in the park

just for future refrence, i am not one who likes to be stereotyped. and if i could vote, i wouldn't vote for bush. and i have a 15 G 3rd gen iPod.

Wow, and i thought i was the only mac user! i have a 15 inch LCD iMac. hey shadow2k3, what kinda mac do you have? observe the sig...

This is true, but the fact of the matter is that steel coasters have a limited lifespan due to the fact that they are indeed made of steel. My guess is that the park won't remove/replace it until its lifespan has run out, and they are not able to run it anymore.

Were these serious fights or just mild junior high fights?

I think one of the best kept secrets in the park is the backwards racer. It really smooth and still has tons of airtime. And if you get the back seat you get all the airtime and a nice view of the track!
-
That rumor is most likely NOT true. If CP ALREADY has the height record, why would they go and break it again. Plus, a 500 foot LIFT HILL??? Are you crazy? Even with Intamin's cable lift mechanism, that isn't very probable. Sorry dude...
-
There's two other full-circuit inverted Intamins, both of which are called Tornado. One here. aaaaand this one. I don't expect to see many more of these pop up anywhere. They're probably smooth and fun, but no other park has invested in them, which leads me to say that they're not all that popular.

This morning Paramount Parks issued a Press Release saying that they wanted to build a park in Japan. From the description and picture it looks like it will be more of an Orlando type movie park. The article says that there will be three hotels on 85 acres of property in Fukuoka, Japan. There will also be eduction services on the property. I think this was released because Viacom and the Paramount Parks did so well financially in Q2. Here's the link to the article on CoasterBuzz.

PKI's only "new" ride for 2004 closing
crosscountry4891 replied to teenageninja's topic in Kings Island
what?! are you serious? i never got to ride it! DoT was the best movie that has ever been in AT! this is terrible! -
Sorry, but i think youre wrong. The coaster i think you're refering to is the screaming squirrel. While the screaming squirrel is like this, it is very different. the squirrel actually goes above and over the track as shown on the link. The "frequent faller" goes on the side of the track.

that would be AWESOME. Make it like Thunderhead at Dollywood...oh man that would be sweet! More airtime, more unexpected turns. you're right, that would be one popular ride! About inversions on Top Gun. While that would be cool, it is not possible. Arrow originally intended to have inversions on their suspended coasters but they later found out it isn't possible. Something to do with the swinging of the cars...and that's our history lesson of the day, folks.

Thanks! That was lots of help! Maybe I'll see ya tomorrow! Have a great day!

Tomorrow I'm heading down to Coney Island for a P&G thingie. I was just wondering...what are some of the good rides down there? What rides should I spend most of my time on? Any help would be great! Thanks! Have a good night!

My first ride of this season was The Beast. It was on 5/8/04. It was an awesome ride since I hadn't been on a roller coaster since last season. It was pure sweetness. My second ride was The Racer.
