  1. Here is a link to a new survey I got from Paramount Parks today. Paramount Parks 2006 Dining Survey
  2. Are you talking about the North Tolls off of KI Drive? If so they used to use them all the time. It's just during the last few years that I noticed the only use the South Tolls. I beleive they may only use the North Tolls on busy days.
  3. That would be crazy. What would even be the point. Unless it's a way for CBS to earn revenue. Who knows.
  4. Wow now that sounds weird. If Viacom wanted to stay in the park business, why did they give Paramount Parks to CBS, who know wants out. You think Viacom would still want the Paramount Parks. This is nuts.
  5. I thought the park wasn't closing the first Sunday in June this year?
  6. I know for a fact that Flight Commander was not removed until after 1995. I rode Flight Commander over and over again after I was in High School. I didn't go to HS till 1994. Flight Commander was gone at the start of 1996 season, and that signed showed up saying watch for a new attraction dropping in next summer.
  7. Flight Commander was not removed until after the 1995 season. The accident happend in 1991. So it was SBNO for the rest of 1991, and I beleive all of 1992. However it did reopen with some changes to the restraint system. Remember in 1996 they were a sign in the grass in front of the old FC area that said watch for a new attraction dropping in here next summer. Drop Zone was suspose to open on that spot in 1997, but plans changed.
  8. I for one like Paramount. I think they have done an okay job with the park. I know in the beginning it was rough for Paramount, cause they were learning the ropes. But running a business isn't always easy.
  9. That is so true. They say by summer that gas may be up to $3.00 a gallon or more. I have a feeling that alot of park's attendance will drop this year because of that.
  10. I'd still would really like to know, the real reason why PKD's FoF is not running this season. I have heard a rumor it's because PKD already has too many launched coasters, and another would cost too much to operate. Or maybe they are just retheming it. But a retheme really doesn't make a lot of sense either. If Paramount is trying to sell the park, then why are they retheming the ride. I have no idea what is going on at PKD.
  11. I say go to Cedar Point. LOL. Or it may be nice to go to HW, try something you never done before. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought HW had quite a few rides. Maybe you should check out HW's website, to help you better plan your trip. Good Luck.
  12. I actually enjoyed being a PKI ride op. On the panel it tells you the # of riders per hour, # of riders last hour, and # of riders year to date. On a really good day, we pulled about 1200 pph at Vortex. On thing that slowed us down was that gate they added at the exit. The person who was on unload side couldn't go to dual dispatch until everyone was out of the station and the gate was closed. Ever wonder why they moved the dual-dispatch button on Vortex to the load side? Because of that problem we had in 2001.
  13. LOL! That was funny. I just hope whoever gains control of the Paramount Parks, that they will fix some of the stuff I don't agree with. The high price of food. Yes I know it's a Theme Park, and prices are going to be on the high side, but not this high. Just for myself to have a meal in the park, including a drink cost anywhere between 11 and 12 dollars. Can you imagine if you bring a family of 4 into the park to eat. That's 44 to 48 dollars just for food. Which is high. Charging $3.29 for a 20 oz cup of pop is outragous. Last year it wasn't that high. I belive it was $2.79 last year. With the large drink being $2.99, and $3.49 this year.
  14. I wouldn't say the park would be lame and boring if Paramount never came into Kings Island. I'm sure the previous owners would have bulit some cool new rides. I myself though a little off topic is still hoping to see a new big steel coaster.
  15. ^ I agree. Paramount has improved the park. They have added quite a few rollercoasters too. 1993- Top Gun 1996 - Fight of Fear 1998- RIP Scooby's Ghoster Coaster 1999 - Face/Off 2000 - Son of Beast 2001 - Reptar 2005 - IJST
  16. That would be cool to see on the QTV's. They need to have more park videos on QTV like when they first started QTV.
  17. I still remember to this day, a couple of times when Nick visted the park. I have an on ride photo of him in the front car of Vortex. I also seem to remember him and some members of 98 degrees coming and riding Action Theater one time.
  18. Who's to say the things that Paramount has done for the park, good and bad, wouldn't have happened either way. Yes we lost some classic rides, but why is that Paramount's problem? I for one was a little upset back in 1992 when I heard about the sell of the park to Paramount. And i'm kinda sad again to hear the park is up for sale again. But who's to say that the new owners will be any better then Paramount? Did you ever think the new owners could be even worse then Paramount? I for one do not think that the Paramount days have been the worse ever time at Kings Island.
  19. Actually that 2000 pph were if they were running 4 trains. You also have to keep in mind those stats were released 10 years ago. The seat belts and with people not knowing what to do with it, and people not putting there feet under the foot bars all slow down capacity. If Vortex has every seat filled and every train is dispatched at the bell, Vortex could actually get 1500 pph.
  20. Yes it's the same one.
  21. I know when I worked at the Park. About every hour at Vortex we used to bring in about 1,000 riders per hour. I'm not sure if FoF with only running 2 trains could bring in 1,000 rides per hour. Lets face it, Vortex is a people mover. FoF has slow loading time. Slow loading time equals longer line.
  22. LOL. They do. It would take quite awhile if they switched the rides out all together. I think for staffing issues they are running one side for 1/2 a day, and the other 1/2 the rest of the day. Probably by daily operation they will be running both sides all day.
  23. Great job. I enjoyed the video. But like others have said, the quilty of the video isn't good. But nice job anyhow.
  24. Awww, that looks neat. I hope we will see more pics from this past weekend up soon. Thanks for showing that.
  25. Cool. I'm glad to hear it.
