    smoking

Well no matter what they'll do, people will still smoke where ever they feel like it. Does any of the Cedar Fair parks have any smoking rules? If not, the smoking ban may be gone next year.
  2. When I visited PKD back in 1998, they were giving out basketballs that were deflated, made me wonder why PKI didn't do that. As far as employees not playing games, my understanding of that was, since they were no way to get a recepit that said you actually won the game, they had no way of knowing if you actually won the prize or a friend at the game gave it to you. That's why they had the plush sale once a month, so you could purchase whatever prize you wanted and they could give you a receipt to show on your way out. Again when I worked at the park (1999 - 2001), they were no said rule about employees couldn't attend any show.
  3. I don't remember such a policy when I worked at PKI. Now I can understand if they don't want you to particpate in an audience particpation show.

    smoking

I'm a smoker and I had never had a problem not smoking in line. I don't have a problem either with the smoking areas. They are at least one in every area, so finding one isn't hard. I however still see lots of people who do not follow the rules. It makes me angry that some people think the rules do not apply to them.
  5. With Cedar Fair taking over next year, they may not even be a Gold Pass next season.
  6. I predict the park to be very busy tomorrow. With alot of schools now out for the summer.
  7. I'm not comfortable in any of the rear cars of Vortex, or any Arrow loopers. I'm a taller guy, and my knees always hit the seat in front of me. I may try the 5-1 seat though sometime. But normally I stick to 7-1, or ocassionally I will ride in 1-1.
  8. Delirium was closed down on Sunday when I was at the park. They even had it listed on the sign out front that it was closed. I've been to KI 3 times this year so far, and Delirium has been down every single visit.
  9. The drop on Vortex is still one of the best of any rollercoasters in my opinion. I love it in 7-1. Best seat on the entire train.
  10. I think the roughness has to do with your opinion of roughness. Yes SOB is going to be a rougher coaster, it's wooden and it's over 200 feet tall and goes almost 80 MPH. Like I said in my first post, I rode in 4-2 I said 5-2 but i'm not used to the new 5 car trains yet. I think it has improved except for the first helix. It was brutel in the first helix.
  11. Vortex did open again though on Sunday. I rode it at about 7pm ish.
  12. I see Cedar Fair expanding on the license after 4 years. And probably moving Nick into the other parks. Nick is very popular not too.
  13. I rode SOB in 5-2 yesterday I still stay away from the wheel seats. I really did feel a difference to the ride. However I almost cracked my neck on the Backwards racer I was sitting in 5-1. The Beast yesterday gave my 7 year old nephew a bloody noise. The worst part of The Beast issue yesterday was, they didn't even have any paper towels at the ride, so my poor nephew had blood all over himself.
  14. I finally got to ride the SOB this year. Let me just say, I agree with alot of other people on the site, it is a much better ride. The first drop was very smooth. The only real rough spot I felt was in the first double helix (rose bowl). I did however hear a noise while going thru the loop I never heard before? Anyone else notice this noise?
  15. I perfer Coke to Pepsi. But at least if the do go with Pepsi in the Paramount Parks next year, at least they will have Mountain Dew!
  16. What people don't understand. All rides go thru a saftey review. For some reason they thought the requirement should have been raised. I recall The Racer having it's height requirement raised twice within the last 5 years. It used to be 42 inches tall to ride Racer, then they changed it to 44 and now it's 48. Adventure Express used to be 42 inches as well, and its now 44.
  17. It was the holloween event before Fear Fest. This took place in the late 90's. It was sorta like Nick OrTreat, it was geared more to the kids.
  18. Cedar Fair does have 3 parks that do not charge extra for their Waterparks. GL, DP and MA. I'm sure it's unlikey that Cedar Fair would start to charge for the Paramount Parks waterparks. Of course anything is possible. Lets hope not though.
  19. Cool pics of SOB. I can't get use to seeing the trains with only 5 cars. I can't wait till Sunday to give it a whirl.
  20. Maybe the Paramount Parks will have both Coke and Pepsi products next year. If they already signed a contract with Coke i'm sure Cedar Fair wouldn't be able to end the contract that soon.
  21. Wow. That's all I can say is Wow.
  22. I can't wait to give my own opinion on SOB. But a wooden coaster over 200 feet tall is not going to be B&M smooth. I just don't think a coaster should be rough that it beats the crap out of you. I'll see in a few days what I think of the new and improved SOB.
  23. I'm sure the waterpark will be free still. Are they any waterparks in the Cedar Fair chain that are free with park admission?
  24. I'm hoping I can find out for myself next Sunday. I plan on going to the park after I get off work at 2:30. I intend to ride SOB as soon as I get to the park.
  25. Weather.com is forcasting a high in the upper 80's for Next Sunday. So hopefully alot of people will be in the waterpark. I'm planning on heading out to the park after work Next Sunday. So I'll probably get to the park at around 3:30 which is okay, the park is open till 10.
