***UPDATE*** Universal Studios has announced that both Orlando and Hollywood theme parks will recieve a "haunting" transformation this Oct. once again. The theme for this year "Carnival of Carnage"... and rumors are swirling with a return of Jack the Clown! US is playing it off as a "new" character called the Ringmaster (no, not your friendly KIC member)... but some ENT. folks at US Orlando have said this is merely a "dressed up" Jack! You can go to the newly update HHN site for more info: www.halloweenhorrornights.com Happy Haunting! -Hauntguy PS: On the website if you click on the upper right corner with the fancy lettering "JS"... your find a cool secret part of the site! Have fun!

Hey guys, A close friend of mine just called and said that construction has begun on the Howl-O-Scream event at Busch Gardens Africa. This season guest can look forward to new mazes, more monsters, and new shows! I can confirm that there will be 6 houses, 5 scarezones, and 3 shows! I'll try to keep you all updated as I get updated! Just goes to show that Halloween is just around the corner! -Hauntguy

Haha... I hope they do too! The cornstalker guys are nuts; they're really fun to be around! -Hauntguy

A new flat from HUSS is coming to X-Base and it's going to be called FreakOut.... making it the third "F" in X-Base! -Hauntguy

I do know a "little" of whats happening... a really good friend of mine in the haunt industry told me when I visited his haunt to do some painting work. I'll just say this... everyone will love it! I just hope I'm lucky enough to work in it! -Hauntguy

2007 Theme Park magazine poll results
hauntguy replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't agree with about... 90% of that poll! -Hauntguy -
That isn't true anymore... if you look at recent 3D films from "RealD"... such as "Meet the Robinsons" and the re-release of "Nightmare Before Christmas", theaters only use ONE projector with a type of "switching" lens placed in front of it. Maybe some updating is in order for AFXT? -Hauntguy

^Then why don't they just close TR until next season instead of letting it destroy the parks reputation? -Hauntguy

How about a total "tear out" of the Action FX building and re-install "Return to Phantom Theater"... Make it scarier, longer, oh... and darker! The entire line could be themed as a walk through the graveyard! This would be a dream come true for ALOT of people! -Hauntguy

Upstop, I believe CF was in charge of FF last year... but maybe this company believes in second chances? As for my situation... it's in the past, I hold absolutely NO grudges against the park or the ENT. dept.... they did the right thing from a business stand point, I can't be upset with them. I love everyone in ENT., they are such wonderful people to both be around and too work with. BUT, I am the same... family ALWAYS comes first with me and ALWAYS will. I love my family more than anything in the world and would do ANYTHING for them. I will be there on the 27th as well... again, hopefully the park believes in 2nd chances and I might be hired again. If not, no biggy... I'd still be at FF everynight enjoying the houses and watching people get scared! So to everyone whose going... HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK! -Hauntguy
-
Great advice Dane... GO TOTALY NUTS!!! You might just end up in the Asylum with the REAL mad med of FF!!! HAHAH.... Dane, you probably had the coolest job at FF; Except for that mysterious white "gunk" they put in your hair... HAHAHA!!! Good Times. -Hauntguy
-
Gabriel, Awesome that your having so much fun man... you make me jealous! HAHA!! Nice photos... Looking forward to your safe return. Be careful and most of all HAVE FUN!!!! (Which I don't think will be a problem) -Hauntguy
-
I'm going to go on the 27th for the returnees... but if I get hired, I don't know; most likely NOT!!! But it's worth a shot! If not, I'm sure FF is going to be AWESOME this year and you'll all find me "haunting it out" at the USS Nightmare in Newport! To all that go to the auditions... GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!! -Hauntguy PS: Don't make the same mistake I did and let family get involved... you WILL get fired!
-
They'll probably get the guy that did the music to just edit it without all the narrations! It's fairly easy to do and would not cost alot of $$$. I hope they fix this ride, I hate to hear that it's sucking now... maybe CF will see this ride needs some TLC! -Hauntguy
-
I would vote for a Maverick replacement! -Hauntguy

I've said it before, but I'd love to see a HEAVILY themed ride/coaster in X-Base! More on the lines of Universal's The Mummy or MIB:Alien Attack! A cool dark ride/dark coaster would be awesome in that area... and provide a "cool" place to chill in that area hence the lack of shading! Maybe add some food/souv. shops in that area too! But KI has done something that I bet they didn't mean too.. they've blocked themselves in to a "corner". All I mean is that they've built coasters all along the perimeter of the park which has made it extremely hard to expand! To build out more you'd have to remove either: -Top Gun -Son of Beast -Firehawk -Flight of Fear -Racers -Tomb Raider -The Beast -White Water Canyon -KI Railroad Any of these would be a HUGE loss to the park... and I don't see it happening. Again, KI has kind of backed themselves into a "corner", I'd love to see what CF has planned for the future... or if CF is even in that future? -Hauntguy

Family Sueing Six Flags
hauntguy replied to Cortney's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well, put it like this... In the haunted attraction industry, any attraction can simply post a sign saying they are not responsible for injury that WILL get out of almost anything scott free!!! There is a case from CA were a family was sueing a haunted attraction because the father had fallen down off of a raised platform and caused him to break his leg. Now, the judge ruled in favor of the haunted attraction because the man went in it with full knowledge/awareness that he was putting himself in a situation were he MAY be injured! It's like this with EVERY haunted attraction... but attractions nationwide all have the same fear; FIRE!! Just put yourself in this situation: -In the middle of a DARK MAZE... all constructed of WOOD! -Thick FOG and moisture from PNEUMATIC ANIMATRONICS -ELECTRONICS from lights, props, sounds, etc. All this spells FIRE! That's why attractions (even EVERY FF house at KI) literally is "hosed down" with fire retardent! So just be carefull, we never know what COULD happen! -Hauntguy -
When I am at the park on Toyota Family Day in Sept. the park ALWAYS sells out! They put up the "park full" signs and the attendant on ET tells everyone on the way up! -Hauntguy

Thats because some people DO have the scoop... Some people know about rides, some shows and marketing, some Fearfest!!! HAHAHA.... There are people on this board that WORK at the park, others have friends that do, and some either are/or know people that get contracted out to do work for the park. That's why sometimes you must take this board seriously! -Hauntguy
