Cedar Fair First Quarter Results
hauntguy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't see why they can't work together... Does CF always have to work alone or buy up everything! Look at Universal and their on-site hotels, those are Loews hotels and are NOT run by the park at all. It's like a mutual business structure... a "win-win". I am sure that CF/KI will figure something out and hopefully not just "drop" the agreement. -Hauntguy -
How do you feel about the changes Cedar Fair has made to the park?
hauntguy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I am going to agree completely with the pricing on food and beverages. If you look at Holiday World, what they is amazing. That's why that park is one of my most favorite parks to visit... yes, above KI! -Hauntguy -
And we're not ever going to get an exact map. The maps are just "generalizations" of where stuff is... The way I see it, if the map can get you within 75-100 feet of something, you should be able to find it for yourself! -Hauntguy

I think it's fine where it's at. If you want to "escape", go ride the train or go to the former "Paramount Stroy". I think IJ:ST is a really good ride and is in a great location! The only thing I would suggest it to make it less of a 'junkyard' and more a modern highway/interstate with trees, landscaping, etc. I think if they lose some of the gravel, containers, it might help. But again, it's a great ride and a great location. Again, go ride the train for an "escape" and for a relaxing atmosphere. -Hauntguy

I would love to hear Broadway/Musical music that is popular on I-Street. Music from: Phantom of the Opera Cats The Music Man Urinetown Hairspray Grease Guys and Dolls On The Town Seussicle The Musical (sp?) Oklahoma! A Chorus Line Annie Anything Andrew Lloyd Webber Anything John Phillip Sousa ETC. Music that is in the peppy/popular tune of the music KI used to play... but would not associate itself to any movie/film studios... or any other park for that matter! That would cool. -Hauntguy

Let's see... Sleepy Hollow Theme - Danny Elfman Indiana Jones Theme - John Williams "Summon the Heros" - Saving Private Ryan - John Williams Beetlejuice Theme - Danny Elfman "The Breakfast Machine" - PeeWee's Big Adventure - Danny Elfman "Flight To Neverland" - Hook - John Williams Back to the Future Theme - John Williams Batman Returns Theme - Danny Elfman "The Ice Dance" - Edward Scissorhands - Danny Elfman Mars Attacks Theme - Danny Elfman "The Place Where Dreams Come True" - Field of Dreams - James Horner The Truman Show Theme - James Horner "Pirates" - The Pagemaster - James Horner The Addams Family Theme - Marc Shaiman "The Tango" - Addams Family - Marc Shaiman Titanic Theme - James Horner Phantom Theater Music Assorted TV Themes... That's all I can remember hearing from different trips to the park last year. Hope this helps. -Hauntguy

I do think I have seen it, of course I could be totally dreaming! HAHA... It would be wise of KI to put in a speed lane though since all of the newest rides/attractions have them! -Hauntguy

4 words... Gold Pass Speed Lane! KI has advertised about skipping the line on the new FH! Now's a GREAT time to get a season pass! -Hauntguy
-
No it's not.... and NO ONE on this board has the power or the autority to name a "best ride". It must be voted on by all. And don't throw the "it's all about personal choice/style"... it's not! -Hauntguy

What You'll See In The Next Few Weeks at Kings Island

^ Or for any other park in the country for that matter. I can only think of a handfull parks that still operates a old time train like ours. Kudos to the maintence guys and the railroad staff. -Hauntguy -
But they could be ANY shrine or monkey statues from "any" cave or forgotten temple. ALOT of people don't even know the whole Tomb Raider story or even about the movies. Believe me, very little would have to be changed to theme to a regular temple or tomb. I'm also talking about the ride itself... NOT any of the preshow stuff. The effects on the ride are so generic it could be anything.... Ice, lava, myan statue goddess? Seriously, if given the creativity... WHICH KI HAS.... they would have to do very little to drop the "tomb raider" theme. -Hauntguy
-
They would only have to change or get rid of the video and the vocal audio on the ride wouldn't they. The effects, sets, props, etc. really doesn't credit itself to Tomb Raider! So only a FEW things would need to be changed. -Hauntguy

What You'll See In The Next Few Weeks at Kings Island

AWESOME!! Thanks for the update Ryan. I am loving the color shceme on FH... LOVE IT! I can't wait to go and take a gander at the new Asylum entrance!!! Am I crazy? I believe so! -Hauntguy -
Reclaimer, Here at NKU, our Fine Arts Building is sinking into the ground because of a lake built to deep and too close to the building... Let me say this, in the time of 2 months it dropped around 3-4 inches. Everything doesn't sink at the same rate! If Vortex is sinking, which it's NOT, it could be going down at an extremely fast rate or an extremely slow rate. But there's nothing to worry about, it's NOT sinking! -Hauntguy

Haunt operators just need to be more responsible. Alot of times, it's all about $$$... if it's close to the haunt season and money gets low, haunts won't bother with flame proofing. I know this is NOT the problem at KI... I know for Cowboy Carnage is was sprayed down with retardent every night! It's sad that these are the ONLY haunt articles to make the news and thats how people think EVERY haunt is. They assume that if one haunt burns down and kills a few people that all haunts will/could. I have seen haunts literally take torches to EVERYTHING and NOTHING catches a flame! -Hauntguy
-
Maybe if CF wanted to some major money into it.... just replace it with a new track! Same layout, same # of inversions, same everything. Just make it butter smooth and better trains, maybe a floorless! That would be pretty sweet! -Hauntguy
-
I agree with just calling it "Stunt Track"... they've already did it to FoF! Then just remove the paramount references! -Hauntguy

Paying for waiting in a shorter line
hauntguy replied to Kenban's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I believe that the way KI does it is fine.... and maybe improved on. How? Raise gold pass prices and add more speed lanes. If there was a speed lane on ALL the rides and attractions, I would mind paying $200-$250 just for a GOLD pass. I also think KI should work out a deal with GWL that would allow GWL guest to enter the park early, have early ride times, and have access to the Speed Lanes... that would be a cool perk! So please quit complaining, KI is doing fine with what they are doing. If you don't like the idea of a gold pass holder using a speed lane... then I'll just walk by you and wave as you wait in line! Hahaha.... -Hauntguy -
TG is probably the best suspended coaster one could ride. Why? It's FAST!!! TG is one of the fastest suspended coasters around. I know CP has a suspended coaster, but I've heard people say it's not as good as TG. I'll just have to ride it and see for myself. But I don't see TG going anywhere for a LONG time! -Hauntguy
-
I have had several, and some KI higher ups, tell me that Vortex is NOT sinking... and is NOT being removed. It's all just a nasty rumor and people need to forget about it! Vortex IS NOT SINKING! -Hauntguy
-
Hey guys, I'm just wondering, is there still a KI Central meet-up happening soon? I can't remember if one was planned or a date set. Thanks. -Hauntguy

Old time photos are great gifts for loved ones. That's if KI still does this...? Also, just treat him to a great day at KI, pay for everything! Go see some shows, ride great rides, and just spend time together. I'm sure your father would appreciate that more than anything else! Hope everything turns out great! -Hauntguy

I had the amazing oppurtunity of meeting Maureen at Fearfest last year... and made her jump a little as the sheriff of "Cowboy Carnage". Good times! Maureen, as said before... we will ALL miss you so much. I wish you only the best of luck in your future career hope to see you every once in-awhile visiting KI and hope that you still poke in around here a little! Best of luck, Hauntguy

Wait... there's no theming on TR:TR anymore? Did I read that right? -Hauntguy
