  1. ^^ Ah that makes much more sense! Thanks Terp!
  2. ^ That is a good question. I believe I said this earlier, I think since Matt Ouimet took over in 2012, 2017 would probably be the first year to be radically different since it would be more than the 5 years since the last 5 year plan under Kinzel in 2011. That is just my theory though, it could be radically different as Matt Ouimet could have had a say in 2011 so that would mean this year would be the first year of a 5 year plan from 2011 if Ouimet had a say. Again I do not know, just speculating.
  3. Kentucky Kingdom is an exception, as the politics of local and state level will most certainly affect the park's future as part of the parks money IS funded by the City of Louisville and the Commonwealth of Kentucky(and taxpayers). P.S: I made the mistake of becoming really political in another thread last year. It did not become a fight but it was very close to it. Some threads like when tragedies happen (ex.) the Sandy Hook shooting, it is almost impossible to avoid a slight political undertone in the discussion, but when its in the case of this thread, not really. Don't let this discourage you from this site as I am still here thriving after the incident last year, you just got to learn not to become overly political.
  4. I know they own about approximately 770 acres at least as they sold some of the land they bought in 1972 for other ventures like the Great Wolf Lodge and such. *exits stage left for somebody more knowledgeable*
  5. I believe he is talking about White Water Canyon paths. It looks like they removed the old path.
  6. I would hate to be that next customer. 6 Saturdays until Opening Day!!!! Clearing is continuing near the Bolt Shed, though I do not know what exactly that could be for. It looks like they have got that area that used to have the entrance to WWC and the Funnel Cake Place and shelter cleared out. There is also clearing it looks like in the woods where the Old WWC Path used to be. The new Funnel Cake Place looks nearly complete! Hope everyone has a nice day!
  7. The thing that's surprising is that I carry my weight pretty well. It's pretty evenly distributed. I wear size 42 pants and can fit into both XXL and XL shirts and shorts. Point of reference: last summer. [emoji851]
  8. Wow I did not know that, I guess I never noticed! Thanks for telling me.
  9. Yay. ^^ (Trying to avoid the dreaded one word post)
  10. I have ridden Cheetah Hunt back in July, so I think I could possibly be able to ride Maverick, I am not sure about Millenium Force or Top Thrill Dragster. I have actually very seriously considered losing weight and I have decided I am going to do that. Not just for rollercoasters but for my later life. I think I am done growing as my family has always been fast growers until early high school and then we stop growing.
  11. ^^^ A big old example of that is the International Restaurant above KI's entrance.
  12. Arighty I got my mom to look into a platinum pass, which makes me very happy! That will certainly lower the cost of those such things. I think sometime in June would be best for me and my brother Jake to go to. Do you guys think I would have any issues fitting on rides, again this has not happened to me before but I am 6"4 and 295 pounds. I have had to be pushed down but I was able to ride everything at Kings Island that I wanted to. Any advice on this area. I am really excited about this trip and i really hope it will happen.
  13. No Banshee and a certain Son was still their and operating.... Cant believe it was that long ago!
  14. I personally do not care as much what we get. I do hope we get a giga rollercoaster sometime but I would like to see other rides too like a GCI Woodie. Flat rides is another huge thing as we have not gotten a thrilling flat ride since WindSeeker, 5 years! We never did recover from Paramount tearing down so many family and thrill rides in the 1990s and early and mid 2000s and that does need to be addressed.
  15. Whenever Terpy hints at something it always turns out to be something nice! I personally think they are doing more than smoothing the terrain. We will say by the time Opening Day rolls around whatever it is.
  16. I will not update this status until Kings Island gets a Giga Rollercoaster! :)

  17. Just watched the documentary. Never knew about the Fish Hook Rollercoaster! I also did not know that X cost over 45 million dollars. Interesting that Enron and Arrow filed for bankruptcy within a day of each other. Sorry my brain just thinks that way. The documentary was awesome, I recommend it to anyone!
  18. Alrighty so I talked to my brother Jacob more about it and I got him on the fence to start planning for it(not a yes but he is looking into it). Which is a pretty big accomplishment on my part. We will probably use Hotwire to book our hotel around the area.... even though I would like to know which hotel it would be(one of the disadvantages of that website.) 2 days at Cedar Point 80$ each Parking 15$ a day 30$ total Hotel I looked at(but have not booked at yet) 50$ discounted a night. Brings the total to 240$ not including the extra cash we will need for everything else. I need to get started on saving some money! I have also thought about upgrading my Gold Pass to a Platinum Pass to save on money. Do you guys think that would be worth it? Thanks! Josh -stashua123
  19. Thank you guys for the advice! This will certainly help my brother Jacob out with everything and iwll help out with my friend Dylan for our possible fall trip. Can you only get a 3 day ticket to CP by staying at one of their resorts? I think the Knights Inn could be a great choice! Is Breakers Express an any good hotel or is it cheaper thna the other hotels? I am trying to stay more than one day as it would be horrible to just go their one day and have to drive back. Thanks guys!
  20. I have two trip possibilities this year to travel to Cedar Point this year. My first trip possibility is with my brother Jacob. He has said he would like to go with me to Cedar Point sometime this year as a brother bonding type thing before he heads off to college. Since he has a job that pays alright with some money saved in the bank it could work. And since he is over 18 we could probably find some lodging in the area without hassle. Since I just have my temps as of now and will probably not change until Fall of this year he would have to drive up there with me. We were thinking of sometime during the Summer. I have two questions about this trip. What are the best deals for us to save some money so we do not overspend? Which rides are ones that cannot be missed? Alright for my second trip posssibility is with my friend Dylan. He and me have been wanting to visit more theme parks other than Kings Island. He went with me twice last year which was pretty fun. He would be able to drive in September so thats when we would probably be going. We think we might bring his dad along so we do not have any issues with lodging and driving. We were thinking about sometime in September or October before it gets really cold that we would go there. We were also thinking about Kentucky Kingdom but I am not absolutely sure on that one yet so I will get back to you guys on that one. For both of these trips I have some general questions Which days of the week would be best to visit the park? Is the KI/CP Ticket Deal a good value since my brother Jacob will probably not be getting a Gold Pass this year? Which places are the best to stay at? How much approximately would this trip proabbly cost? Is Fast Lane worth it? Is Soak City worth it? Thank you guys in advance for the advice. I really appreciate how you guys helped me last year with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and hopefully this year I will be able to go to Cedar Point and have a great time!
  21. If I remember correctly they had a five year contract for the Dinos so that means the contract will be up this year and have to be renewed.
  22. ^ That made me chuckle, thanks for the laugh! I just thought of something, will Dinosaurs Alive! be around for 2017?
  23. well, I figured I'd leave myself an "out" for "somebody" There isn't a "somebody". The current state of science simply does not permit accurate forecasting more than about one week out, give or take a couple of days. Accuweather's alleged "45-day forecast" is pure fraud; see the data I collected in April 2012 when they first began offering a 25-day forecast: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/25285-accuweather-claims-25-day-forecast/ That ought to show you how impossible it is to forecast more than 5 to 7 days ahead. science, smience. I'll bet there's some monk living in a remote cave that hasn't seen, let alone talked to another person in 40+ years that spends all days studying the stars, moon, tides and gravitational fields that knows exactly what the weather is going to be for the next 30 years in all points of the Earth. Another bogus weather forecasting tool is the Farmers Almanac. I remember them specifically in July of 2015 forecasting a Tropical Storm for the Florida region that never materialized when we were their. They also predicted a hurricane for Texas in September and a Hurricane for Florida in late September which both never happened. I am thinking about going to Opening Day this year with some friends like I did last year. I hope it is as nice as it was last year, 75 degrees and sunny!
