To go along with the "Flashback Till Opening Day" and "Random Photo of The Day" threads, I thought I'd create a topic to share "throwback" photos of Kings Island. Some of the photos I will be sharing are my own and some are from Kings Island's website dating back to the late 90's. Feel free to share any "older" photos you have of Kings Island here. To start off...... Construction of Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle in 2003

Thanks Don, Can't wait to see the pictures. Here's the full video of the track arriving, for those of you who didn't get to see it:

A new view...... (Courtesy of Kings Island) (This is a still shot from the video posted this morning by Kings Island about the last track pieces arriving)

....And I hope you respond by telling them that it is in Paris.....

The element looks most like a batwing. ...and that is due to the fact that, it is indeed a batwing. *Nuff Said.

EDIT: You got me there......Actually not really sure.... (Referring to the post below mine) (I'm also kind of confused now....) -
The new webcam angle is on the same page as the other webcams on the Kings Island website here: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/online-fun/webcams ....On another note.... Here are some pictures of today's construction of Banshee's second vertical loop: (Pictures Courtesy of Kings Island)

I'm really liking the new webcam angle, it shows everything in a completely different perspective. We get to see the work being done in a more "up-close and personal" view. ---A special thanks to Don and the Kings Island staff, for doing all the somewhat unnecessary things to keep some of us enthusiasts informed, and to keep the public informed and updated about the park/Banshee in the off-season. It is appreciated!

....And we now have a batwing.

Kings Island made a post on Twitter last night which read "Working on the 2014 Park Guide & Map. What info would you like to see added?" I just thought I'd bring the question here, and see what KIC thinks should be added, or changed on the park map going into the 2014 season?..... Any suggestions?...

I'm not an engineer, but from the way I see it..... It doesn't really seem like there would be a cost appropriate way of doing this with their kind of budget, If there's a way of doing it at all. Thunder Run and Twisted Twins have completely different support structures considering that TR has wood and TT has steel..... Also, on top of that, the layout for Twisted Twins doesn't really provide any place for connecting the two tracks, let alone trying to connect them both to Thunder Run.... The only company that would be able to work this out for them would probably be The Gravity Group, but I still don't see how even the engineers there could pull it off. I don't know where they'd Ever get the money in their 2016 budget to do this kind of thing but if they did, I think it would be a better decision to start from scratch with a new wooden coaster. Because right now it seems like a situation where Hart is saying 'Lets see what we can do with what we have' instead of 'What type of new things can we bring in' which can sometimes be a problem. .....Anyway....Just my opinion........They would be better starting all over, building a new wooden coaster from the ground up..... -
If any new merchandise regarding The Bat was already available to the public, it would be on http://www.kimarketplace.com/Default.aspx ....But it isn't, and I am guessing that new Bat merchandise will not be available until the 2014 operating season begins. (In shops, throughout park)

^ No dates for the 2014 operating season have been released yet. Construction crews are at the site this morning, ready to (hopefully) complete Banshee's Batwing element.....

I'm guessing that KICentral is not going to be one of the invited coaster enthusiast groups?....

Banshee media-day is set for the morning of April 17th, which is the same day as the "Scream For a Kid Again" event, which will be held that evening.
