Wiki says this The name derives from the Greek words pteron (πτερόν, meaning 'wing') and daktylos (δάκτυλος, meaning 'finger') and refers to the way in which the wing is supported by one large finger

What other clues do we have to go by? So far footers are it. And while I can't say for certain what one style means vs another I can make assumptions based on what I know from previous coasters. Now with that said I did say I looked again and station footers are almost always square. From what I can tell about support footers the only ones I have seen square are the two wing coasters. I also have said that I'm not sure why the shape would matter. Again these few footers are all we have as far as clues. "Edit". I know we have that Cedar Fair tagged a name and that there are teaser signs up but those really don't give an indication to what the ride will be like the footer do.

I get board with The Beast but I appreciate it for what it is. Then again i have ridden it more then a hundred times..

Hey I'm finally able to view them on my iPad with safari! I could always see the cams at the other parks but not KI.

What coaster is that?

They are round. "Edit" I looked again and the station footers on DB are square..
-
Those are round. The ones at ki are square so are the ones for wild eagle and gate keeper. Now I don't know why the shape would make a difference I'm just pointing it out..

I spent a chunk of time this morning looking at Gatekeepers construction pics. These footers look very similar to keepers. But that's not saying much. Hopefully next weekend we have some real progress.. I will be there. Lol

Maybe (hopefully) they're finally getting rid of Slingshot. Then the new ride would not be in Action Zone anymore would it?

Me and my son went to the yard sale after Kings Island this morning and I walked around and took a few pics. The place is coming along and all the new paint looks nice but they have a ton of work to do in the next two weeks. -
No I wouldn't do that. I was kind of teasing. I would like to know what's under their. I only took that pic because there was some discussion last week about the fact there was a sticker and several people including myself had not noticed it. I think it is absolutely fabulous that Cedar Fair teases us with these things. I will respectfully play along.. :-)

They have done a lot of work behind the launch thing. "I forget what it's called". Well from what I can tell looking back and forth between my pic from sat and today. It doesn't look like they put in a full weeks worth of work at the old go cart location..

View from the tower

The sticker on the sign. I want to know what's underneath. Probably just a mistake covered up but maybe more?

From today Almost peeled it

And it will help take some of the stress off the other two coasters. Saturday both Beast and Diamondback were packed during ERT.

From ki's twitter account @KingsIslandPR: Backlot Stunt Coaster & Flying Ace Aerial Chase have been added to the Gold & Platinum pass early ride time, effective May 3.

Ohio coaster just posted a pic of the cars.

I think it's going to be another B&M Gate Keepers track and support were built not to far from here so that helps keep manufacturing down. Also Cedar Fair seems to really like the B&M with good reason. Reliable and smooth ride.

Of course I meant the actual carts are still there. You can see them from the tower. I did not get a pic of them but they are all sitting together. My 9 year old son pointed them out to me..

The Invertigo sign is still the original colors. Weird you should mention it, i was talking with a gentleman who is a member here but i never got his name about this very topic yesterday while standing atop the tower. I also agree with this two ride theory there are lines of trees that seperate the two plots that would have been cleared while they were excavating.

Interesting you would say that. the go carts are still at KI and can be seen from the tower..

This was my fourth opening day in a row and I have never seen one like this..

Looks like a flat ride is going in to me.
