  1. I'm not sure if KI does this, but CP uses off-duty local police to suppliment their security forces, if I remember correctly. I think they meant "H"allo"W"eekends.
  2. I've seen parents insist on bringing their infants (under 3) through the house. I cannot even begin to count how many circles I went in, leading families through shouting "No Scare!" ahead of me cause of crying infants. (It's a policy thing.)
  3. Guess I'll go first. "I want his babies." (In response to being scared.) Hopefully I'll remember if I hear any this year, and I'll report back here if I do.
  4. Totally! They even used the best method possible to ensure structural integrity during transport...
  5. I mentioned this last year I think... ...when I go with my friend to Haunt, he does this - and you don't know how much it annoys me. (Yes, he is my friend, but all friends can be annoying) - I think, "Hey, you're not cool...) when he jumps from corner to corner and attempt to scare the person, or when he laughs in the face of the scareactor, blah, blah, blah. I don't like it, that's all. Just have fun, like you said - YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE SCARED. It's Halloween Haunt. Personally, and also as advice I gave to my (former) actors, with proper group work and planning you can embarass them and get them to join the fun. Target someone else in the group for the scare, and while they're distracted trying to intimidate the initial actor, someone else comes in and takes a turn. This may or may not work depending on the attitude of the person, which judging of character is something that comes with time. Eventually, reading groups and understanding how to manipulate the strengths and weaknesses of each within a couple seconds starts becoming second nature. Each group has their own dynamic in addition to each person having their own. There's more psychology involved in scare-acting than one would anticipate. No fears though, you don't need a PhD in order to score that precious scare. To bring this back on topic, CoT concerns me a little, just because I have no clue what to anticipate as far as the story and theming of the house. At first, I figured it'd be similar to Cedar Point's Erie Estates in theming, with a graim background, but Cavern of Terror makes it sound like more of a dungeon experience. Working a brand new attraction, in addition to working in a brand new location, raises a few questions I like to ask fellow workers and vets of the Haunt team without revealing them to the general public. Unfortunately, I cannot find where they congregate on the interwebs similar to Cedar Point's Screamsters. If anyone has any info please let me know, I'm prepared to identify myself as an employee, but I'd ask them same to those who respond.
  6. DStorm has it down. You get only so many failed VAT test before they pull your lifeguarding license. Also, EA recently tightened their response-times to rescue and validation requirements. There are generally 3 ways of testing. One with a black rubber brick, meant to be spotted as an "unidentified object" which per requirements must be responded to. Another is a silouette that is place at the bottom of a zone. The final and most often used is the doll.
  7. I know some of you are going to rage a little when I say this, but I am an employee from Cedar Point that has moved to the Cincy area. I was a screamster for one year (2008), and ran a house for two (2009-10). I decided to take a year off before I returned to my craft. I can tell you this, if all MVCoT is only "still life" scares I will be sorely dissapointed since they re-hired me to begin my KI scaring career there. If my understanding is correct, it is a "House of Wax" combined with "oddities." I imagine some freak-show type stuff along with your typical wax figures. Think Ripley's Believe it or Not. There is no insider info here, just insight from experience. If I can jump on the Mysteria band-wagon, I have to say that it was a HORRIBLE experience in Mysteria, Wolf-Pack, and Club Blood last year going through the zones. Yawn-fests and lack of enthusiasm/imagination amongst the actors and/or designers. Judging from the numbers and requirements upon the "interviews", I feel that things will be better this year.
