  1. It would be nice if they brought it back and had The Beast open.
  2. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
  3. On PKI's web site it says that they open on the 9th and that it's 108 days until the park opens, but it's really 109 days until April the 9th. Are they planning a pass holders night again?
  4. What's this yap about the magnetic polarity of the earth changing?
  5. Five of those are just rides that are already there being renamed.
  6. Since when does a park owned by Paramount, which in owned by Viacom need sponership? All the money they need to cover the new rides they put in they get from them. How many millions do they bring in from $42 tickets, $2.75 Cokes and $25 pizzas? To me, it sound like someone at the top is getting just a little greedy.
  7. That would be great if Winterfest came back! I never got to go to it but I have always wanted to.
  8. Well, it's better to come on the last weekend than this weekend. This weekend is supposed to be the busiest of the season. As for the attrctions, they're great! I haven't had a chance to do many of them but the ones I have done are great, there are 4 that open @ 3PM and 3 that open at dark. Curse of the Crypt, Maze of Madness, House of Darkness and Elvira's Superstition open @ 3 while Route 666, Psycho Path and Circus of Horrors 3D open @ dark. I would recomend getting in line for the 3PM ones just before 3 and doing Curse of the Crypt first, as it is supposed to be the best(of the 3:00) and you don't want to miss it! Psycho Path is supposed to be their scariest yet, they take you back into the woods befind Kings Island onto a haunted trail. Also, from now on they turn all the lights off at night on The Beast except for the ones on the hills.
  9. It was on gay day, a guy fell into the pond by Viking Fury and got electrocuted, not sure how he fell in though. Anyway, his "partner" tried to pull him out and got electrocuted as well, then a security guard tried to help him and he also died. It was the same day that the drunk woman died on Flight Commander.
  10. Is SOB the roughest? Yes! And no. It all depends on where you sit. The same is true for EVERY wooden coaster on the planet. The second to last seat is always the smoothest. The reason? On SOB the are 2 trains, with 6 cars and 3 row of seats in each car. The middle row of each car is the smoothest with the second to last being the very smoothest because the middle rows are off the wheels. Front and back rows of each car are on the wheels and are rough. Simple concept, you just have to try it and find out for yourself!
  11. I'm just going to step in here and say one thing. I've been going to King Island all my life, I've been riding The Beast since I was 8, I'm now 17 and I can say that I have never rode with the lapbar on my legs after the first year of riding it. There is no way you can "fly out" of The Beast unless you jump out. We have our bars loose enough so that we can get out legs out if we have to(or want to). Ever been to LeSourdsville Lake? The Screachin' Eagle, voted as the coaster with the most airtime in the world. There is less restraints than there are on The Beastie! I don't know why coater clubs have turned around but they used to be about airtime!
  12. Don't get smart. If you've never seen anybody have to push a train then you don't go to PKI that often.
  13. Vortex is rough but in a different way than The Beast. The Beast shacks and rattles while Vortex bangs anyone who is under 6 feet tal(most of the people at the park) until you get a major headache. They need to get rid of the horscollars and either get OTSR's or lab bars.
  14. True PKI hasn't added a major steel since Face/Off( it is major because it's the only face to face inverted in the midwest and one of only two in the world as far as I know), but, PKI has better rides and themeing period. Just look at its attendance and you'll see that PKI's attendace rate is far higher than CP's.
  15. Definatly Scooby! PT was fun but I like having sometthing to do besides just sitting there and watching everythig go by slowly.
  16. The water is cool, but you really can't see anything for the rest of the ride for all the water in your eyes.
  17. I going to go with replaceing Vortex with TTD. By the way, it's 420 feet ,120 mph and is completly vertical.
  18. If it starts to rain then jump on The Beast! Nice and fast.
  19. Since I like this site so much and don't want to be banned all i will say is I think PKI should stop Gay Day.
  20. Cool! I'll definatly have to check them out this week.
  21. It's not the restraints that hurt it's the vibrations. It's a wooden coaster, they vibrate. This one's just the tallest and fastest on earth so you have to expect it to be worse.
  22. I had to wait about 30-45min. It's well worth it.
  23. My dad and I waited 4 1/2 hours for TR:TR on PPN '02 and never got to ride. Besides that I think the second longest I've waited is 2 hours 45 min. for Face/Off.
  24. When we got there around 4:45 we were told we should go home and come back another day at the front gates. We waited about 5 minutes and they started letting people in again.
  25. It dpends on what seat you sit in. If you sat in a middle seat on SOB then sat in a front or back seat on The Beast of course Beast will hurt more. But if you sit in the same seats in each ride SOB is the rouest. It hurt my brothers back real bad Saturday! We asked one of the maintenance crew why and he said they tweeked to run a bit faster this year!
