I agree an actual bat would be better but simply moving this prop there for now would be very cost efficient and give it a scarier look as said above, which I like. I guess it is more of a family coaster so me wanting a dark theme is selfish but I still want it lol.

That would be awesome!

You know you don't have to type out pauses,"ums",...etc, right? : ) I don't know much about engineering or architecture but I think if something is not public record then that's that.

There seems to be a bit of an elitist attitude amongst these forumns that only pass holding enthusiasts will notice changes such as repaints in stations and tidying up. I have to disagree. Sure if they have never been there before they won't know better but they still will think it looks nice as opposed to seeing it as tacky if left unchanged. Casual park goers will certainly pick up on at least a few changes made though, they are not all dumb. Obviously the more you go the more you will notice but for someone such as myself that only has gone once a year lately it is not hard to spot changes.

Just to echo what many members have already said, I truly do believe that the park and chain as a whole is in very good hands now. I think most of us saw this coming but I believe it when Don (I believe it was him sorry if I am paraphrase quoting the wrong person) said park fans and enthusiasts clamoring for The Bat and that played heavily into the decision. It seems the park cares more about guest experience and desires than ever (in my lifetime).

Interesting....so the plot thickens.

I thought Backwoods Bayous was fantastic but man they need to do something to increase the capacity on Tombstone Territory it was horrible. I waited for everything else no more than 30 to maybe 40 minutes saturday but TT was darn near 2 hours. They took forever to load the trains!

I would LOVE to see a complete retheme of the area or a future new area made (I am talking over the course of 5 or more years). A haunted or creepy theme would be great in my eyes, and I have seen this sentiment reflected here several times. With all of the money just spent though I see it as an understandably slow process and as such I hope that whatever small changes they make now are not judged as the final product and hated on by the community too quickly. I am really gaining trust for this new management I hope it isn't misplaced!

Freddy is from a different franchise...but we know what you mean.

As an English major and lover of puns and play on words I am furious that you beat me to every punch. I am also wondering if I should have revealed my major since I am sure to be on here after a few adult beverages and make some mistakes...keep them coming he who interprets.

I can't wait to see this in person! Money is a little tight with me being a college student but I will make it at least once during haunt. It's my favorite time of year and I need to see our new addition!

I believe you would have a great time, especially if it is your first visit. The ride selection at Cedar Point is truly in a league of its own in my opinion. The Halloween decorations and events are fantastic too, and you will get the most use out of your pp if you use it before that season even starts. As for crowds, it will most likely be very crowded as any fall Saturday tends to be there. You may be forced to pick and choose what to ride and what to leave for next visit.

I am surprised how many people here would go out of their way to call attention to and potentially get in trouble people that are causing them no harm. Perhaps I am downplaying the risk of grilling too much so I will give you that. Do you really have an issue with someone having a few beers before going in to the park or while taking a break? Personally I am a live and let live kinda guy and I have a few drinks before I go in every now and then. Heck I even took in a flask a couple of times. The issue I would have is if you are the one responsible for driving home after your visit. In all fairness it is park rules. Just don't be a drunk lunatic...remember there are children and families.

I would be absolutely shocked it it was a strata I'm just saying that looks awesome. I believe it will be a terraing hugger or giga with the way things are going but an invert is not totally out of the question I suppose. I guess what I am getting at is I have no idea. lol. I am loving this add on already though purely for the hype it is getting amongst us enthusiasts.
-
That video is sick! The only way I would want a strata is if it was like that with more than just a drop.

If you look at the true size of these footers, you can tell they're most likely not for lights. Lighting would use a much smaller foundation.. However, they will probably have a sign and possibly theming on a few footers somewhere.. The three of you are going to love this idea I came up with. So those wonderful light footers, or themed footers, you so speak of? SOBwasaSOB listen up this is for you - I wonder what they are doing with those old Phantom Theater characters.... hmmmm Perhaps they will use those characters for themeing in this ride, if the name is indeed "Banshee". It would actually fit the theme. Now I realize they used a lot of those during the haunt, and many may not be usable anymore but its a thought. That's a great realistic guess/wish! The Banshee theme is obviously what made me think of Phantom theater. I would love just about any theming though to be honest, spooky is just my favorite. As long as it is a fun ride though you will here no complaints from me, and I can't imagine them making a boring ride...I would also love to see an expansion into a new area. I am sure this has been asked and I missed it but does anyone know approximately how much land beyond the SOB site is owned by Kings Island? I am guessing quite a bit.

Bag stolen at Kings Island, think it was my friend or accomplice
SOBwasaSOB replied to icee96's topic in Kings Island
above poster is right. I am in college, and I have been robbed at gunpoint twice now. They will go for easy and quick not have someone pay to get into a park with the hopes that you have something worth while. That being said...those are a lot of coincidences. I can't say it's not her but honestly it doesn't make sense (unless all accomplices had passes and saw it as an oppurtuinity to have fun and hit a lick). -
I thought originally that this was an invert with the possibily of a terrain hugger in vain of Maverick. I was wrong. This is the Rebirth of Phantom Theater. It will feature inversions and a lift hill but will be heavily theamed and have a dark ride aspect much like the original. Obviously I kid but wow what a dream ride that would be! I just saw a video of Phantom Theater and was flooded with memories so I had to post this. On another note I am echoing several others and becoming as repititive as those I am criticizing but we have little evidence and are taking our guesses in good fun so please do not label us as trolls and dismiss our opinons or call us stupid. We are living up the moment as it is not every year your home park gets a new ride so let us dream and have our fun. I am fine with being wrong but I like to read and see other opinions of what is coming in because the hype will make fthe first ride that much more enjoyable. For what it's worth I have had a few too many so if this seems ignorant and wrong sorry...you are probably right it is.

I must say this is getting redundant...for the record the pictures of Montu compared to these footings were at least pertinent as well as the paintings. Thanks for looking for evident and speculating in an intelligent manner! I am still not convinced of anything but you have me leaning a bit towards Invert but hoping for giga. Darn I made an irrelevliant post too didn't I...it's the yuengling making me spout!

I know I was joking as well. I forget that sarcasm and jokes do not translate well on the internet sometimes haha I didn't take it as harsh.

Just out of curiosity, who is BBi? I know this really great guy named BB1 but not BBi. Meanwhile, I will not share my final hypothesis yet, but this topic may break the barrier soon.... After I go out on a limb and back you up you attack me like this!....I kid I kid I meant BB1 haha sorry. Someone also brought up a good point (I believe it was the one they refer to as "Terp") I had forgotten about Kinzel's departure somehow but like he said CF will still always make better coasters than Paramount. I do wish that CF could combine their coaster skills with some theming like Paramount had. I know this is not an original idea and I also realize that I am asking for quite a bit but a man can dream.

First of all while Mountain Dew is the nectar of the Gods Coke is way better than Pepsi. Secondly Off topic discussion in this forumn, like BBi said, is simply us passing time before the ball drops (that was well said). I personally belive that this will be a giga with a different layount than DB to keep it fresh as these new guys in chare are more coaster oriented. Second most likely is dive to me but I have super few posts and only a gut feeling and tiny bit of evidence to go on so take it with a grain of salt. I will drink my adult beverage and read this thread every night for entertainment.

Oh my, it is definitely not looking like this and I would be absolutely shocked if it happened but what if an updated, scarier phantom theater was put in! In my childhood that was my favorite ride by far. They could even put in thrill aspects like a less extravagant The Mummy....that will be the day. I agree though I am thinking B&M so far and that's just fine they do quality work.
-
Thanks haha I had this topic in mind when I made it.

Hello all first time poster but this seemed like the perfect time to signup...and I frequent KI and CP several times a year. I personally do not see any possibility of a SOB remake (and despite my name I actually liked the ride). At most as far as wood goes I could see a GCI like people have mentioned. I am leaning more towards a B&M like so many people have stated but I would love a heavily themed ride in there. Ever since Paramount lost ownership theming has taking a plummet. I see that they are trying to make a come back in this area a bit so a thrilling dark ride or something along those lines would go a looooong way in my opinion.
