  1. I never saw it on TT....but Wild Eagle had it....
  2. having witnessed the selling of 'on-ride' video at the photo booths at Dollywood on Wild Eagle.... I can say that I didn't notice any longer wait....to view photos/video...etc. The monitors were basically just looping the videos just like they do the photos...when people entered the gift shop.
  3. I'd say 40 of my 60 rides have been 'single rider' and I constantly get the far right seat. I actually have a harder time getting the left side.
  4. That's my favorite seat as well. Although the left side...Row 8 is creeping up! I think the drop is killer on the left side...but favor the right the rest of the ride...
  5. Thanks for sharing devarious. I guess I never really thought of it in this context. I'd never lost an article in hundreds of rides....but...2 nights ago...I did (even after 60 Banshee rides) to update that...I checked the lost and found this morning (nothing) - they told me its possible that it could be in the station and was found this morning. So, I went to the Banshee station this morning...and low and behold...they had my cellphone (covered in mud) and my season pass stuck inside the cellphone case (covered in mud) But, I recovered it...and it actually WORKED. It's a miracle after the rain we got that night.... But, it'll teach me to make sure I wear my cargo shorts...and not my gym shorts.
  6. Yeah, I totally understand the 'policy' - I have one of those awesome cases for my iphone... I've thrown my phone (fastball) and still not done an ounce of damage to it.... So, I have hopes it could survive a fall from Banshee....I'm pretty sure it fell out somewhere on the back end of the ride (which is good) it's open back there. If it fell out over the mid-way...then I'm sure some kid got a great condition iphone I just don't think they'll find it tonight in the dark (its a black case) and the rain tonight...will put an end to it anyways... oh well, still got my free upgrade... was just curious...thanks for the reply Hydra
  7. anyone have any experience w/ getting back your loose items that fall out (example: cell phone) ? how often/quickly do they check for the 'items that were claimed as lost' (I filled out the form at about 9:50pm) Curious if they scan the ride/fields after the ride...looking for the items....or do they wait until morning? what exactly is the procedure? If they wait until morning...the storm/eve will pancake my phone. I guess after 60+ rides on her...she was bound to eat my cellphone eventually. That's what I get for wearing loose gym shorts....
  8. anyone have an idea of how things work 'after the race' - Are all runners admitted to the park come 9:30 for ERT (I have a Gold-Pass, so it's irrelevant) or do they have additional privileges?
  9. I enjoy 8-4 and 8-1 the best... Enjoy the front also...but on the outside... whats the big deal about 1-2 and 1-3? Don't believe Ive rode in those spots...just 1-1 and 1-4
  10. what do they recommend....all white? shorts and tee? or at the very least...just a white tee-shirt? I'm not a fan of 'White Shorts' - Then...the whole world gets to see my Scooby Doo Underwear....
  11. ERT was solid this morning...didnt get in until 945 and still got 2 rides in before the mass of GP
  12. I just noticed that one of those listings has six shirts available. Six. It's absolutely ridiculous that one person could get six shirts, just to try to make a buck. I think it's even more ridiculous that people are wanting to sell these items for 50-100$ a pop... Also, I heard multiple reports of the Banshee being an hour/hour and 15 minute wait...if you jumped in line near closing... True? that's not bad if so.. Many of times I'll enter The Beast's line near closing and will surpass that wait-time.
  13. can't always wait 4 hours in line
  14. I'm actually quite jacked up...to marathon the Diamondback this summer. The lines should be alot shorter than we are used to!
  15. Thunderhead has a very LOOSE lapbar...you get flung all over the place.... but, the airtime on that ride is ridiculous!!! And...Tornado is supposed to look like an old bronze/brown...Leaf from a tree...in the back of the park?
  16. Aunt Granny's and it's all you CAN EAT DINNER.....LOL!! And....I could be wrong about Tornado....It might just be that the harness...wasnt very...appealing to me. It's neatly situated around the mountain though.... could use a paintjob Back to Wild Eagle...the song was stuck in my head...by the end of the trip..."Wild Eagle, Wild Eagle...blah blah" I somewhat agree that Wild Eagle isnt very 'forceful' but only in the front few seats. It whips you around in the back....and front right...is the best of the front seats...because it makes you think your legs are gonna get chopped off...4-5 times on the ride. LOL
  17. Thanks for the tips! for starters....the Cinnamon Bread was delicious! As for the park...got a little lucky on the weather on Friday...it cleared up and the park was virtually empty. For anyone else who might attend this December...they didn't have any rides shut down...and we were @ borderline 40 degrees with some drizzle on Saturday. Everything was still cycling through.... cycled through every seat on Wild Eagle in the front rows....and did the back also. Great ride. Really enjoyed it. No seat is the same. These are the same harnesses that Banshee is supposedly using correct? They felt super comfortable to me...and it made the ride that much more enjoyable. I just felt sooo comfortable and secure that I could just concentrate and enjoy the ride. I really liked the onboard camera/video system. For 35$ you can get a video of you on the ride (Except the front rows) - Kind of a neat little souvenir. Thunderhead will really get you out of your seat in the front row. Must have popped me out of my seat...10 times. I was kind of 'meh' on Tennessee Tornado, I prefer Vortex. It might be the shoulder restraint that urrrks me. A- it doesnt have the seatbelt connecting the headrest (like Vortex) and B- it didnt even remotely make me feel secure. I had alot of room to move around..just made me feel uneasy. Mystery Mine is really neat...and completely different than any other coaster...I've come across. The themeing is great...and the angles that the ride takes...create an exciting ride... The christmas lights were fantastic! really reminded me of being at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the Osborne Lights...except they don't all 'dance' - But, the lights were worth the trip...by themself. Anyways, It got my $$$$ and now I'm a season-pass holder. I plan on taking a few more visits in 2014...so it was worth the price of a pass.... Again, thanks for the tips!
  18. thanks for all the tidbits! It looks like rain is in the forecast for later today and Saturday....so we will see what happens! Predicting in the high 50's today with RAIN.... and tomorrow is looking like mid 40s with some RAIN. I've been to Kings Island in the RAIN and alot of stuff stays running...so hopefully Dollywood stays the same. will let ya'll know how it goes...thanks again!
  19. Sup Folks, got a few quick Dollywood questions.... Do they run the rides...regardless .....if the park is open? or is there a certain temperature etc? (I've read some forums and other tidbits, some say 40 degrees, etc) Anyone ever encountered anything like this? Planning a December weekend trip...but want to be able to ride Wild Eagle, etc Second question, Anyone stayed at any relatively cheap, but clean...hotels in Pigeon Forge? Not really looking for a cabin...etc. Just a clean hotel.....around 45-65$ a night
  20. Stud, so do you just ask the Ride-Associates if you can fill that empty spot despite being on the opposite side of 'ride entry' - I'd love to do this if there is abandoned spots/etc... I'm always riding by myself.... So, I guess you kind of just wait around where by the storage bins and watch the train load and jump the gun if you see an empty spot?
  21. the climb the ladder....by Adventure Express? I would guess you need to keep your feet all the way to the outside to balance the weight?
  22. I was actually thinking of taking a trip to Dollywood in November...possibly....I see they are open during November/December at times. I might wait if this announcement turns into something of my liking....
  23. Maybe the track changes color in the light...who knows. The blue steel looks blue in normal light...but has a purple tint in direct sun. Either way...the track seems a lot darker than the renderings. I actually dug the pink. Going down the freeway it looks almost Diamondback red/maroon
  24. 2 or 3 trailers of track going down 2-75 near Loveland! Headed To KI!! Why is the track pinkish/purple in the POVs.... Its definitely maroon...imo
  25. I've find the foul shot basketball game near by Adventure Express and The Racer has several balls that have alot less air than at other stations.... I hit 4 for 4....the other day over there. But, the one by Diamondback has OVER INFLATED Balls.... I'm not sure how often they check the balls or pump them up.... Just something I've noticed... The 3 point challenge....isn't all that difficult (to at least win a prize, although the base prizes SUCK) if you have a good jump-shot...the problem is.... Most people A- Rush B- Don't line up their feet correctly.. after reaching for a ball....etc C- Don't enjoy shooting in front of people... I'm pretty good at not doing any of the 'said' 3 things....I've just let my basketball game go to !@#$%$ since College. I rarely get out and play....but...my jump shot's still good for 8-11 traditionally at the 3 point shootout. Who knows what would happen if I warmed up...or got back into playing shape/condition However, I do find it sad...that I'll watch that game....on busy days...and see people launch 6-10 shots either directly over the rim (from the sides) or 2-3 feet short. Like, can't you compensate and figure out what you are doing wrong after 1-2 shots? I've seen way too many people airball everyrack....or overshoot every rack.
