Oh yeah, The Kangaroo and Turtle were really cool too. I love old rides. -

Make sure that you ride The Whip as much as possible. So much fun. I agree, their wooden coasters are great. I enjoyed The Racer, Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt a lot. The Potato Patch fries are really good. Ride the Whip. -
High 5!

Personally, I thought that the second I went upside down, I was going to throw up. I have no idea where I got that from but I was absolutely terrified of going upside down when I was younger. I didn't actually get over it until the year Raptor debuted and I tried it (which would have made me 15). No problems with heights but was scared to death of inversions. Of course, after experiencing them once, I realized there was really nothing to them and rode EVERYTHING after that.

Waaaaait a second. So now we're getting an Arrow looper!?! Sweet!

^ That was when they were building Diamondback. They probably don't have plants on them now.

Those footers will just be holding up potted plants to make the campground look nice.

Larosas different at the park?
LongLiveTheSmurfRide replied to CharleyTheDinosaur's topic in Kings Island
I used to think that inside the park was better, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because it smells great when walking by one at KI, there are coasters all around and you pay so much for it that your brains says that it NEEDS to be good for you to feel like you got your money's worth. We have a LaRosa's around the corner from me in Kettering and it is great and a lot cheaper, though I still have that soft spot for KI's and I don't know why. -
Yeah, I'd never call it "jack hammering" just a vibration that I don't notice with other older B&Ms.

I did not have as much of an issue with the Gatekeeper restraints as my wife did. We rode it once and she was sore and had red marks on her collarbone all day. I felt the restraints pressing against my collarbone, but not enough that it hurt that bad. I did have a hard time taking deep breaths after the ride was over, which was a little concerning. I think if I rode it a few times in a day I would have an issue with the restraints. It would be nice if they didn't constantly tighten throughout the ride. Also, we went on the 2nd weekend of operation and both my wife and I were surprised that Gatekeeper already had a bit of that vibration that we sometimes feel on Diamondback. Does it have something to do with whatever they have done to make them more quiet than other B&M's?

FYI, I drove by I-71 yesterday and had no Intiman track sightings.

I'm no expert on dive coasters, but why is it automatically assumed that one would be short? Have all of them been short with boring layouts or something? Is there no room for innovation there?

I'm in the same boat last year i could barely squeeze into Diamond Back. and always needed a little push from an attendant. so I started dieting and had lost 45lbs before the start of this season. and have lost another 10 since. Good thing too because the Intamin restraints at Cedar Point were tight.. Congrats on the loss! Yes, I knew I would not be able to ride the Intamins at the weight I was carrying. This year when I went to CP I had room to spare. Felt really good not to have to worry about it.

Kings Island Central Word on 'International' Street is that there will be news coming from Kings Island today that will make you "wet your pants." Giga Water Coaster announcement! They're obviously loving this. Every week there will be a new "announcement" that everyone believes will be about the construction.

I don't think that was a picture of crap, but of a carp. So carp fest.

Do people still Rick Roll? Oh, okay, let them through.

When it took a couple ride ops to shove my restraint down on Drop Tower and Diamondback I was suddenly very motivated to lose weight, and I did. I couldn't imagine being turned away from a ride, but I'm making sure that I never have to experience that.

I'm glad that some people don't look at 30+ year old people the way they look at 30+ year old Arrow coasters. Sheesh.
-
To save you a LOT of reading, we still don't know if we're getting a coaster, but there are pages and pages of speculation. Welcome back!

^ Well, according to Jr For Birdy, you can't trust what Don says. Plus I think Don pushed him and took his lunch money. So, there's that.

Can I laugh and point beforehand? I just like to laugh and point.

^ Can't really have an identical layout if it's a giga since SOB was a hyper. Plus, SOB's layout was pretty boring.
-
^ With freaky glowing eyes.

I'm preeeeeetty sure if it was announced that this was just a boring old B&M giga we would all still be lining up first day.
