  1. No wait on Boo Blasters...
  2. There are some lovely storms and rain happening now. A group of us are here from work and this isn't quite the experience expected.
  3. I stayed at the Kings Dominion campground this summer and had a lovely view of the park (past the field and electric towers). Hearing the faint roar of the coasters while I was setting up my tent was really awesome.
  4. That is odd. I'm not sure? Here's a screen shot of what the top of my email looks like:
  5. The KI email I received on 8/26 did include info about BAF - it was not included in the "Dollar Days" blurb but in its own section.
  6. Gemini is fun but silver2005, I agree with you. Lightning Racer is a blast. I loved it this summer. I haven't laughed that much on a wooden coaster (other than The Beast). My only regret is not riding it in the dark. It's such a fun ride!
  7. A few years ago, I discovered online a little place called The Land of Oz. It was open from 1970-1980 at the top of Beech Mountain in North Carolina. It can now be rented for events and private tours year round. They also hold an annual event call Autumn at Oz. After three years of talking about it and the timing never being quite right, my best friend and I are attending the Autumn at Oz event this year with two of her friends. We might be a bit too excited to walk down the yellow brick road. Has anyone here been The Land of Oz when it was open in the 70's or attended an event there? I'd love to hear more stories about this place.
  8. Removed as I do have a faulty memory. Nothing to see here.
  9. Quick answer is yes you can pay it off early. When I would go in to update my sister's payment info, I had the option to select current month or full balance.
  10. As others mentioned, proportions matter! It's not just about weight or inches. I've seen larger people get on some rides with no problem and others not. I've come thisclose to not latching the seat belt at Drop Tower but have seen much larger people ride. In addition to what is already mentioned, here are a few things to note. Before you sit down on a seat with a seatbelt around your waist, grab the seat belt, pull it all the way out, then sit down and fasten the belt. Will save time trying to fumble around. For any ride with the OTS, if you can adjust your upper body, you may be able to make it work. Diamondback's lap bars hit your thighs, not waist. WindSeeker's are similar as they are hitting your thighs instead of stomach. Best of luck!
  11. Hey! I can totally successfully handle a hoop and stick, while wearing a floor length skirt (and petticoat) and heels. Ahh...the random skills we pick up along the way.
  12. If you are wanting a piece of Thunder Road, check out the store near the entrance of Carowinds.
  13. When I moved them over from my phone...they were a little wonky so I had to redo it from the laptop. They aren't the best pictures as I took them with my phone in a hurry. I hope they help BB1!
  14. Yes! I am so far out of the loop for anything Boy Scout related. Boy Scout National Honor Society? He isn't quite ready for Eagle Scout but he really seems to enjoy Boy Scouts and all the things his troop does. BB1 - sorry for turning this into a BSA discussion - grabbing my laptop so I can post the pictures quicker!
  15. Well...maybe the initial though was right? He's doing something where he sleeps in the middle of the woods by himself, a tarp and sleeping bag. No tents, no showers, and no good food until tmw night.
  16. Eek! I'm sorry! Totally meant Boy Scouts.
  17. I took a few pictures - will post them later as we have to get the kid out the door for his BSA camping trip. (Edited for the correct association abbreviation so that this is as clear as possible )
  18. BB1 - is there anything in particular you want pictures of? I have the morning and early afternoon with my friend's son. If I can convince him, we'll be at Carowinds tmw.
