  1. I though that when I was little (6-7) that Millennium Force was themed to Star Wars (Millennium Falcon). No idea how I got that because my sister just showed me pictures of it after she went during high school.
  2. That is one I'm actually excited for when I go in a few days. I'm gonna have to have my dad sit out on it though.
  3. Yeah, I got it in September, so now getting Platinum is really tempting.
  4. Yeah, I'll admit the Smiler thing was stupid on my part, what I was trying to go for was it seems media tries to dish out blows against thrill rides every chance. Probably not for any specific reason other than it increases viewership.
  5. So, life-changing injuries such as leg amputations are not significant and newsworthy? Diamondback stopping safely on the lift and doing a lift evacuation is hardly newsworthy; no one was ever in harm's way except from the sun's rays. Standard operating procedures were followed by both the ride and its operators. The Smiler took a girl's leg. It badly injured several other riders. That's extremely newsworthy. Standard operating procedures were not followed by either the ride or its operators (or both). The same? Not even close. Yes, but much WORSE things happen in the world, car crashes do that all the time but are hardly reported heavily. Yes it should be publicized, BUT there is obvious view mongering. EDIT: But yes that was a bad analogy, sorry.
  6. Quick Questions: 1. I have a Kings Island Gold 2015 Season Pass, how much is it to upgrade to Platinum now/in a few days? 2. I am going to Cedar Point for 3 days in park/2 nights with my dad for my birthday (staying in Breakers, Breakers Express, or Sandcastle Suites) Would the discounted 3 day tickets be more or less than upgrading to Platinum? The only other time I'd use it would be Possibly Michigan's Adventure when my family goes to Michigan for vacation.
  7. We need a ride called "Mother of The Beast" No I was thinking Mother in Law of Beast, then you know it is really scary.
  8. Love how the media loves to blow anything with rollercoasters and accidents out of proportions. I've seen this with FoF last year (I was there when it happened the first time, June 2, 2014) and when Vortex stalled on the lift as well when the motor malfunctioned (also there, something always happens when I go to a theme park) All media outlets know that blowing it out of proportions will have more views/page visits, and unfortunately many do instead of reporting the pure, unbridled truth. Kids can get injured all the time on carousels or at county fair rides, but it will be quickly swept under the rug, but if something that does not harm anyone happens on a roller coaster, it will be a media field day. Take what happened on The Smiler for example, yes it was bad, but the media acts like everyone died or something.
  9. Probably, I had a season pass from when I was 3 to 7, and went at least every year from around 8-12, didn't go for a few years. Now that I have a season pass, I'm probably approaching 20-25.
  10. I love how sarcastic this is, only one person was truly on topic. As for my opinion, possibly, but there is no way it or they are still alive.
  11. I really am impressed with their customer service. Due to the fact I hadn't gone in around 5-6 years, I did not know the waterpark layout well. I could easily find the giant orange and brown roller coaster, not so much with some of the rides in the water park. One of the life guards heading to his shift at the wave pool next to the 2 water coasters personally lead me to them. It wasn't much but it felt personal. On the way, he asked about my day and what I felt about ThunderBird. Honestly love the staff there.
  12. Umm..... there are quite a lot of Intamin Gyro Drops, and many more Drop Towers that don't launch you.
  13. I went Sunday, got on both sides in the morning and then went back to Voyage. When I came back it was broken down. It finally came back on around 7:30 and I got 3 more rides in 20 minutes
  14. So glad I went to Holiday World instead of Kentucky Screwup. I would only go so I could ride T3 "Day 2" but nope. Delayed. I honestly had a blast at HW, literally, there was only 1,000 people tops in the park. Longest wait was 10 minutes for Raven at 10:30. Legend I walked on and I had a blast during my first ride on it. Voyage was also a walk-on, and easily a top 5 roller coaster. I was able to ride ThunderBird twice before it broke down, I got 3 more rides after it opened 20 minutes before the park closed.
  15. For me, I was terrified of anything bigger than The Racer/Bat, and finally was able to completely destroy my fear going on every rollercoaster in one day. When I went a few weeks ago, I was nervous, but I was with friends so I didn't want to chicken out. We head straight to Banshee and the adrenaline rush was INCREDIBLE. I'd say go on a bigger rollercoaster if you are up to it. I don't think I felt more alive.
  16. Its not exactly guilty pleasures, even though I titled it that, but more of you like it but can't explain it for any good reason per say
  17. Ahh, so close, almost done with school. Just need to finish 2 days more of finals and I'm home free.
  18. I don't know, I think the GP know that usually the back is more intense while the front gets the best view but thats it.
  19. I kinda want KI's to be one themed to SoB or Bat, but I don't think Bat due to Flight Deck's retheme.
  20. You know they are not good, but every time you step on, you have a blast. Any coasters that you guys think are bad but you can't help but ride? Mine are Back Lot: Stunt Coaster and most Vekoma SLCs, so painful but so fun.
