  1. Or did they?
  2. When Six Flags asked them to help, hoping it would smooth out the coaster. Little know that B&M also had a part on X at SFMM (same place as the wood coaster trains by B&M). After Arrow built it and had all the problems, SF went to B&M for help. Apparently their tag is on the X trains.
  3. The funnel was not there Sunday so it must be new as of this morning. I'd take a picture but I'm back in Indiana for the week. The tower had been covered for two weeks now but Aaron didn't put up my other picture of that. I guess not enough stuff to update yet.
  4. Yeah, you can sit next to three of your friends rather than next to one and have to turn around to see the other two.
  5. Unless I accidently deleted it or my stupid SpamKiller program blocked it... I didn't win
  6. Never thought of it that way, but you're right. I gave Aaron some initial ideas of funny slogan shirts. Those didn't fly. Now you all might get to see some more of my wonderful pictures.
  7. I even know that Cincinnati still has a gas light district... in Clifton. Don't know if someone comes around to light them still or if they were like Kings Islands and burn all the time.
  8. Well actually last year during the invester conference call (broadcast on the internet) they had mentioned they were going to add on to a hotel. Plus they publicly made it clear they were building this before PKI ever mentioned anything about redo-ing their waterpark by filing for variances with the city for tax deferal and building permits. So just because they just now released it in the press doesn't mean they are copying Kings Island. Six Flags Worlds of Adventure updated their waterpark last year. Kings Island and Cedar Point are really following them, if anything at all. Now saying that the Cedar Point news was known before Kings Island doesn't mean we are copying Cedar Point either.... Because of where in the park I work I've heard mention of the expansion before this season even started. So now its safe to say that its merely a coincidence that the two parks are doing closely the same thing this year. Wait till next year though. To correct you. They are putting the year round waterpark onto the Radison, which is outside the park... not right next to their current waterpark. They are however adding more stuff to their normal waterpark as well.
  9. I saw one get backed over by a security guard two years ago during our supervisor seminar. Broke out the back window and took down the pole. Those things are not very cheap at all. Its not really that hard to drive around them. I've done it many a nights while working a midnight warehouse shift. I've even driven the huge water trucks around them a few times. They keep getting hit because people aren't paying attention. I'm sure they aren't making their way back because the park is getting tired of paying to replace them or they can't get any more. I also saw the old HB sign (the entrance sign that disappeared this year) get hit by the Budweiser truck. Took off Yogi's arm. I've seen people hit buildings cause the old brakes go out. I've seen people flip the old carts that we used to have making a sharp turn behind The Beast. Best thing though was seeing a delivery truck from an outside company forget to put the parking brake on and the truck roll away while they were unloading it. It just goes to show.. people aren't careful and it costs the park money.
  10. Well we've got a definition and a wonderful cartoon. Closed.
  11. This years attendance is higher than last years. I don't see how that would make it "going down the drain". However, on a smart-a** thought.... Next year in 2004, all the attendance will go down the drain... The drain of that large funnel on Tazmanian Typhoon.
  12. Its not that far back. Though, the other pieces of King Cobra are where they "used" to fire the fireworks from. The new location is right behind the turn around of The Racer.
  13. Man, now I'm starting to like the green and yellow. darn you Pat.
  14. My thoughts exactly .... about the black in summer time.... See Aaron... no black t-shirts... GO WITH THE BLUE!!!
  15. Yeah, that is probably the reason, but the webmaster is usually slow at things. We had guests most of the summer saying the website told them they got this deal at Sharky's but it had really ended weeks ago and was at a new stand.
  16. Dang it Aaron, why no funny slogan? I love it anyways though.
  17. Well... duh... The new 2005 ride will already be built by time we go to the park in 2005.
  18. Maybe... Maybe not
  19. Its been mentioned in other topics, hence the reason this one came back up.
  20. The reason the games are on in the Festhaus is because the managers wanted to be able to get score updates every so often. The games were on at Bubba Gumps as well (only on certain TV's), since they were mainly at those two locations.
  21. Lets see here, Beast is wood... SOB is wood... Beast is the largest in length... SOB is largest of any wood... Beast has helix... SOB has helix... Beast is older so less tricks... SOB is younger so can do flips and more helixes than its old man... If I were the one to design the ride... I would never have made it so huge, or would have put it closer to The Beast to use those wonderful valley's and drops in land like The Beast does. Of course there would be more drops with plenty of air time all while twisting and turning through the trees and still somehow put a loop in there to throw you off balance. I think SOB is good but it needs more near it like we've been saying in other threads. My idea would be to build up more coasters in the future that surround the ride or intertwine with the structure.
  22. Big Bird? He's been known to lie about Kings Island, heck he works for another park chain.
  23. Alright this has been bothering me... The ride's name is King Cobra not King Kobra. King Kobra was a Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop that used to be at PKD and now at another park, under the same name.
  24. Jeff mentioned during the tour a big announcement for future stuff (2005, most likely) would be made around then.
  25. I'm stuck in Indiana until Christmas. I really don't have anything to keep me busy till then. After Christmas its construction updates (since Jeff said most action would be after the holidays), planning trips to other parks in warm areas, then back to KI in late January early February for training classes and interviewing. Of course there is school once I'm back in Cincinnati, but its really just a side thing, that takes up most of my time, but its not as exciting.
