nicksterbixter
I have noticed that this year KI has made the wings place an all you can eat buffet. does anyone know how much this cost> might be worth it considering u pay $10 for a slice of pizza and a drink. DeLorean Rider
That was changed last year in the middle of the year when Cedar Fair bought the park. Aparently Cedar Fair likes to have at least one all you can eat restaurant per park. Dont know how much it costs but I believe it is in the low teens. teenageninja
I have heard that the Buffet is quite poor, however I love CPs buffet, so maybe it will slowly evolve. I think it is like 13 dollars if I remember correctly.
ZosoBeast
We ate at the buffet once this season. $15 each. I was very VERY disappointed. I would not even remotely recommend it. Money better spent at Happy Days if you ask me.
Cory Butcher
If you dont mind elaborating Bill, what disappointed you most about it? I have been thinking about trying it out someday this year when I visit on a day off.
Avatar
I have gone twice there myself and both times I was disappointed too. For me is that most hot items are dried out chicken, hamburger patties potato wedges and the other selections such as the green beans, corn, looked/tasted as if they were just poured out of a can. When we went they only offered two dessert items on the desert bar one was a small dry brownie and the other was a 21/2 inch by 21/2 inch carrot cake that even looked smaller sitting on the round paper salad plate. I have not been posting as much because I don’t always want to appear as being negative but I in this case I feel I need to warn a fellow park goer to what they should expect from Wings Buffet Restaurant. For $15.00 it needs to be a whole lot more than this. A couple pictures of food on our plates from our visit just over a week ago, notice in the picture you only get star foam plates and cheap thin plastic tableware not the good more durable thicker tableware. Adult plate Child plate I just will share one more story of another guest during our last visit. A female restaurant guest asked one of the associates working if they could get her a couple lids for her small Coke cups because she was worried her small children could spill their drinks and that without the lids it made it a bit harder for her kids to grasp the cups without the cups crushing in on itself. The Worker of wings responded with; “I’m sorry Mam but we do not offer lids to the drink cups in fear that some guests may take advantage of the restaurant and carry their drinks out” Guest responded with; They are worried about us taking advantage of them, let me tell you I Just paid over $50.00 for my family to eat dried out chicken!!”
ZosoBeast
Well, Avatar pretty much beat me to the punch! Everything he said with the addition of the "hamburgers" being UNDERWATER the whole time waiting for the next person in line to decide their fate! And can somebody PLEASE tell me what kind of meat that hamburger is supposed to be? I mean, come on! I tasted better burgers in High School! The best thing about the buffet is the all you can drink sodas. By the way, Avatar, you should have told us you were in town, would have been nice to meet up! Been awhile! standbyme
I have found that Wings has ALWAYS been hit & miss with the quality of their food...with "miss" winning by a little bit. More than often the food is not very hot or as posted above dried out. If you do happen to luck out on a good day it isn't a bad deal considering the rest of the food prices in the park...but of course you can't look at the food before you pay so you just have to ask yourself "Do I feel lucky?!". A_Titanic_Mess
The food at Wings is just horrible. Don't waste your money. This place has gone down hill ever since they stopped smoking the chicken in the smoke house right next to Wings. Best place to eat back in the day when it was Columbia Palace. Now, it is just awful. bparrott03
I miss the old wings diner. It was def. my favorite place in the entire park to eat.. Well, the only place in the park I'd eat, mainly because of Montgomery Inn. Yes, prices were high.. But I miss my serotgoa (spelling) chips and barbeque sauce. lol. I was really wanting to try the new one, but after what everyone has said, I think I will just go to Ruby Tuesdays, outside of the park. I mean, some of the food they serve is the exact crap my old school used to! Blah-up!!! Skyline and Pizza would probably be the only food I would eat. Skyline smelled so good today! (random. I know). Avatar
By the way, Avatar, you should have told us you were in town, would have been nice to meet up! Been awhile! Bill Sorry Bill. We hastily changed our plans to got last weekend (7/24/07) instead of going on July 4th when we normal go, but because of the same ole same ole but more crowded day on the forth of July we decided to do something different this year. So we went then and are now really looking forward to going to Turkey Run State Park for something different. But truly we will be missing all the extra activities KI used to do on the forth as that was one day we vowed to never miss again. Hope all is well with you and your family. Yeah, but Columbia Palace had phenominal food. It's a different era man.
welchce
I was rather disappointed with the food as well when I went but I only spent $10 because I went with three other friends and we got the Gold Pass Meal Deal. I would definitely not pay $15.
The Interpreter
I would feel remiss were I not to mention I feel the SAME way, only more so, about Midway Diner or whatever it is called at Cedar Point. As I have said before, I'd rather eat from Skyline's Dumpster than eat at Midway at Cedar Point. The food is exactly as has been described here. MOST, but not all, buffets are very much like the descriptions here. Unlimited quantity USUALLY comes at the cost of very limited quality and/or very high price. Here, Cedar Fair seems to be choosing both. There are better choices.
KIfan73
All I ever eat at KI is cheese LaRosa's pizza. I do think its good pizza, but its also the only non-complete-greasy-junk-food in the park (except for a salad, which I've gotten before). I do feel for families, though. You would just have to bring wads of cash to be able to get what the whole family wants (and from the sound of it, no matter how much you spend, there's nothing really good there). There just not be enough of a business case to bring better food into the park, as amazing as it would seem...

I have never eaten in a Golden Corral where the food wasnt cooked-to-order perfect for breakfast or lunch/dinner, nor have I ever eaten in a Old Country Buffet that didnt have some amazing breakfast. Partially the reason why I love those places! Now Ryan's on the other hand was good, but not as good!
Cormaster
Call me crazy but I didn't think Wings was all that bad. I ate there for dinner during my trip last week. They had a nice variety really: Spaghetti, Mexican, Mashed Potatoes, Hamburgers, Chicken, Mac & Cheese. It was acctually better than what I expected. The prices were high, but I acctually figured it would be about that much to eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet place inside a park. I hardly ever eat in the park, its just too darn expensive! I've been to many amusement parks and concerts, and sports events, I know how it is, so I try to avoid eating at a place I don't have to eat at. We acctually brought food but we hit wings up after standing in the dry sun for an hour and a half only to hear "ladies and gentlemen Firehawk is going to be down for 2 to 3 hours at least, we highly recommend you get out of line now". I was looking for some A/C, and a place to sit down, and a place I knew I'd be satisfied. Honestly I thought the food was better than Golden Corral. Selection was small, but considering amusement park prices, It was the best bang for the buck there.
