I've wondered about how they're progressing on this. It looks like they just completed the first coaster. It also says its supposed to open in spring '08. If you look at the web cam, that seems a little optimistic, if you ask me...Looks like its going to be a neat place.

Yeah, I agree... From what I've seen so far, the Spring '08 opening date seems a bit optimistic.

I was in MB a few weeks ago and took a trip out on 501 to see what I could see. (Unfortunately, I couldn't get close enough to see much of anything.) I saw some pics on a site somewhere (Screamscape, maybe? I can't remember...) that showed comparison pics of IOA at this phase of its construction vs. where Hard Rock is right now. At least from the pictures, IOA seemed a lot further along at this point than Hard Rock.

Of course...who knows. I'm always amazed at how much construction can occur so quickly. (And, wasn't Disneyland built & opened in less than a year? )

An area manager from the food department at KI left early summer to move to Myrtle Beach.. he's head of the food there I believe.. Just a bit of interesting info

There are a LOT of former KI associates working at Hard Rock now. Several of the FT merchandise folks are there, as is a FT food service manager (mentioned in an earlier post) and KI's former head of IT.

It's like KI south!!

I actually thought that the Hard Rock park might actually compete with KI. So many people from this area go to Myrtle Beach. I always see lots of people I know when I go there...

Which coaster is complete?

That Led Zeppelin coaster is the ONLY reason why I WILL be visiting this park next summer. Can only be good when they combine the greatest rock band ever with a top of the line coaster! I cant wait!!
