August 10, 200719 yr More Evidence that Disney Parks are Bad! <G> Having general disdain for a company because of their "plastic" themeing is one thing but accusing the same company of harboring pedophiles is, IMO, totally unacceptable. Even in jest, the situation is too serious.

August 10, 200719 yr Yeah, and, "The source said the videos included sequences of the suspect raping one of his nieces, and of a series of sexual assaults on other minors." Where's your joke about that?
August 10, 200719 yr I'm guessing that Disneyland Paris is just not the happiest place on Earth from these reports.
August 10, 200719 yr This just makes for more bad press for Amusement/theme parks. First the accidents, and now this. There is good news in this, that the guy is now off the street and can't harm any more children. I just pray that his victims get the psychological help they need to overcome this. deb
August 10, 200719 yr Yeah, and, "The source said the videos included sequences of the suspect raping one of his nieces, and of a series of sexual assaults on other minors." Where's your joke about that? Dont worry, he's the only one who thinks hes funny, woofer never really has any backing for what he says. It's like when he criticizes Kings Island but he hasn't even been to the park this season or the past season oh and I love when he criticizes how Paramount ran the park but although he did work for the park at one time he never worked under Paramount because Paramount didn't want him back. He thinks this situation at Disneyland is something to laugh about but those of us with intelligence do not find it funny and I'm share the parents of these children would'nt find his jokes funny either. August 10, 200719 yr ^run-on sentence of the century. Back on topic... This is a really unfortunate situation, especially for the obvious reasons. But also, there is almost nothing that the park could have done to prevent this kind of thing. The man was arrested, and that's good. But they can't go searching everyone's pockets for itch powder, or do background checks on people going through the gates. It seems like the situation was handled as good as it could have been--the parent saw it happening, alerted the police, and the man was arrested. It's sad that the incident could not have been stopped.

August 10, 200719 yr Im still waiting for you to make your joke, woofer No Joke. It's always good when those that do wrong are aprehended. What you posted was very sound and logical. It was not something that was based upon emotional reactions. Sound statements I can see and agree with. I don't see what purpose something serves in posting that something is just Horrible and Terrible and is simply based upon emotions. Your post did not do that.
August 11, 200719 yr Author More Evidence that Disney Parks are Bad! <G> This should be put into the: "Straws; Grasping At" catagory.

August 11, 200719 yr The "Walt Disney: Hollywood's Dark Prince : A Biography" is an interesting book to read...it does dwell on the bad side of Walt, but mostly because everyone knows the "good" stuff, so this book is enlightening. You will never look at Walt quite the same way. It really is not surprising that Walt is not the saint that most people think he is, after all, as the saying goes "Nice guys finish last"...and we know Walt did NOT finish last!
August 11, 200719 yr Author ^ And who does not have a dark side, or in a better term, who does not have an event in their life that they are not exactly proud of? I'm sure Walt did some rather shrewd things to accomplish what he did. He was a businessman. It is just that the good things that he did/ accomplished will always outweigh the questionable/ bad things. I really can't see how a person would honestly believe that the world is not a better place with Disney in it. For myself, and my family, what he started in 1928 has given us much enjoyment over the years.

It is just that the good things that he did/ accomplished will always outweigh the questionable/ bad things. I agree the good FAR outweighs the bad...but it just bugs me that he is considered to be THE symbol of wholesome family entertainment when he did some TERRIBLE things...shrewd does not describe them. He seemed to excel at setting high standards for OTHERS to lead their lives by while not thinking he should also follow suit. He (wrongfully) ruined some people's lives...I just think that if someone can take the praise they should also be able to take the negative too. The author describes how the "Disney machine" tried to stop the book but (obviously) failed. Like I said, the book is an interesting read.
