WooferBearATL
I'd say that there are some insurance companies out there looking to drop a certain defense attorney tomorrow. <G>
flightoffear1996
I think that it really sad that people need to sue parks when most of the accidents that happen are their fault.

LOL I spend the majority of my day Monday through Friday settling injury claims with people that aren't really hurt in auto accidents. It's all about unscrupulous attorney's, people that think they can make an easy buck and people that really "believe" they are hurt when they are not. The folks that are legitimately hurt and make claims against businesses and people are probably 50% at best.
Jasper
Pretty much just people trying to make themselves look pitiful and blaming it all on the parks trying to make some money the cheapskate way.

I chalk a lot of it up to the Pussification of America. There was a time that when people got a little bump or bruise that they just sucked it up and went on with life. Now I'm not talking about major incidents (ie - SFKK - Superman, KI - SOB, etc) but these little incidents that essentially are little nothings. People wonder why prices are so high? Take a look at the ambulance chasers on day time TV. They are big time to blame.
The Interpreter
And of course everyone knows that insurance companies make no profit, but are in business to perform philanthropic services out of the goodness of their hearts! Difference is that with insurance companies it's cut and dry. You buy a policy and they are contractually obligated to represent their policy holder. An attorney (when not chasing an ambulance - and yes we even see attorney's/paralegals show up at bodyshops to sign people) can manipulate their clients, drive up bills and encourage treatment that has nothing to do with any legitimate injury. Racerrider
what idiots! who would actualy say something dumb like "a fountain scared me so i tripped over nothing".
Browntggrr
^ Yeah that fountain story is great! I really don't know how a judge could keep a straight face reading that one. Back in 1989 I was on a boating vacation with my family. My second night in the park 3:00am-ish, I got a kidney stone due to dehydration. Yeah it hurt like HE!!, and I needed hospital attention. We had no car, so CP security was called. CP paramedics rolled me on a gurney down the dock and took me to a local hospital, after I passed the stone around 6:00am, CP security came back to the hospital to pick up my parents and I to bring us back to the park. Now I also needed a prescription pain killer. When the local Sandusky pharmacy opened up, CP security brought my dad there to get it. The point is, CP went above and beyond to help me out when the issue had nothing to do with being hurt in the park. Now imagine what they will do for a guest that is injured in the park. Now granted, some cases may be legit. But if CP was at fault, I really can't see them even letting it get to litigation, unless what the injured party was asking for was a crazy amount. The Interpreter
That all being said, the world was a very different place back in 1989. I'd like to think the same things would happen today, but I'm not so sure.
