September 12, 200718 yr There has to be more to the story. I really can't see the park kicking a person without just cause. Chances are, the smoker was given a chance to put it out, and they did not heed the warning, too bad for them. And good decision for the park.
September 12, 200718 yr At amusement parks in communist countries, if you light up in an area other than the designated smoking area, the shoot you! Just kidding. I agree - there is more to the story...hence the refusal to comment by the park.
September 12, 200718 yr My guess is he either argued with someone when they told him to put it out or he was caught more than once.
September 12, 200718 yr Technically, your supposed to be removed from the park (after first warning) if caught smoking anywhere other than a smoking area at KI! -Hauntguy
September 12, 200718 yr Employees at KI don't even say anything when people are walking through the park smoking, at least I have saw many of people walk by employees smoking. It really isn't that hard to use the designated areas.
September 12, 200718 yr My guess is either the person was beligerant and refused to stop smoking in a restricted area, or now that it is out it was a media type, may have provoked the explusion just to get a story. Naw, the media would never do that...
September 12, 200718 yr I like it when you go to Kings Island and theres someone smokeing and their not in the designated area and then you go up to them and tell them to move to a designated smokeing area or put it out, and then they refuse and they also refuse to go to the designated area! and then it turns into a big fight. funny thing is the smoker always loses at the end.

I think that's a problem on the inside which is working its way out. If a smoker sees hundreds of other people smoking carelessly outside of the smoking areas, they will obviously think KI isn't serious about the policy. If someone addresses them about it, then they are one out of hundreds of people violating the rule and I can see why that would upset them. I'm not condoning smoking outside of the smoking areas or arguing with employees, but I think that's where the problem stems from.
