Touchdown
I am going to CP this weekend to the Halloween event. I was wondering if anyone has been to this event and if it is as good as KI's? I have, but I havent been to KI's (yet, that will change 10/26) so all that I can suggest is general stuff: -If you can, try to go on a day that isnt Saturday because they can be quite crowded while the other days are dead (there is a trade off though, Friday night its only open 6 hours with minimal rides, and Sunday there is no outdoor haunts) -Their scare zones (CarnEvil, Fear Faire, Fright Zone) are the cream of the crop at Halloweekends, especially the Fright Zone. -If its windy, skip Werewolf Canyon, that attraction relies heavily on fog to make it work. If it isnt a windy night, get there early because this one will be the longest line of the night. -As for their indoor attractions, they are not the best however, Lair of the Vampire has a funhouse style spinning tunnel in it (cool) and Pharoh's Secret is the longest maze and has the most scareactors. -They have a parade, new this year on Sat and Sunday, heard good things, havent seen it yet -Ive never gone to any of the shows -Magnum, MF, Maverick and Blue Streak are all 10X better at night
Browntggrr
If the weather is nice, Halloweekends Saturday will have as many people as a Saturday in July/ August. It is "crazy" busy. If you want to enjoy the haunts with limited rides, go on Friday. If you want to enjoy the rides with limited waits and no outside haunts, go on Sunday. I would avoid October 5th- 7th (the 7th also happens to be the last day the park is open till 10:00pm). Columbus Day is the 8th and many families will use that weekend to their advantage since there will be no school on Monday.
FOFirehawkFAN
Halloweekends at CP was the worst day of my life last year, it was the busiest day id ever been and lines were crazy and yeah, just not a good day lol.

clbehymer
Wow, all of this makes me really excited to go (that was sarcasm). Especially since it is on a Saturday and every other time that I have been to Cedar Point (even on a weekday)it has been packed! That's too bad because I am taking a couple of friends who have never been to Cedar Point and I was looking forward to them having a good experience. I have ridden everything but Maverick at night and I agree that the coasters are better at night, especially MF. Oh well, I'll have fun anyway. Thanks for the input guys! Dvo
Yeah if you're going on Saturday, get there early. I went one year and all of the roads leading to the park were just packed. It took us an extra hour just to get into the parking lot. Horribly busy, but the park really does look neat for Halloweekends.
Buckeye-Beast
We went last Saturday. The park was crowded, but the haunt lines wern't bad. We got there around 1:30 and left at 10:30, rode some rides, and did all of the haunts. The indoor haunts open at 3:00 which was a nice change compared to KI. The theming was really good and the parade looked fun. There was a video of the parade somewhere on PointBuzz, but I can't find it right now. It is still quite possible to have fun when the park is packed, you just have to do it right. Im assuming you have a Maxx Pass, if everyone else in your group does too that means that you can enter an hour before the park opens (huge plus) but either way here are some basic rules to follow: -Park in the Soak City Lot. That way you will enter at the Magnum entrance, and means you will be much closer to TTD, MF, and Maverick then the Main entrance. To get to the SS parking lot, be in the far left lane at the parking booths, and continue up the Perimeter Road or if you are in another lane put your left turn sign on for the first parking attendant after you pay. Either way, also check to see if Maverick is running (if you are able to do early entry.) -The key to hitting most of the big rides is to hit them early, if you are able to be there for early entry get there early (30 min before) so you are somewhat near the front of the line. If you saw Maverick testing when you drove by it head there first and ride, if you didnt, go to MF and ride, try to do the ride you didnt do next then head to TTD to get that one out of the way when the park opens. -If you cant use early entry, then save Maverick for later (it already has and will have for the rest of the day a 105 min wait) and try to do TTD (assuming it opens on time) first, otherwise hit MF. -Dont do Raptor until the late afternoon, it has its biggest lines in the morning. -Check what time the indoor houses open, and be sure to be at one (I suggest either Pharoh's or Vampire since you can easily knock off these two back to back with minimal waits) 15 before opening before the line forms -If you are going to do Werewolf Canyon (and again, if its windy dont bother, if it isnt its pretty cool) get there 60-45 min before opening and queue up, trust me youll be happy because by the time it opens the wait will be 2+ hours long -Fright Zone and Fear Faire are scare zones and thus have no lines. They are also the best haunted attractions ride "early and often" -Since you wisely choose to park in Soak City, you can take advantage on the tail end of the night too. Magnum during the last 30 min the park is open is usually close to a walk on and at the worst a 15 min wait. You should be able to marathon the sucker at least 3 times before the park closes for an amazing cap to your day.

I have a Maxx Pass but the people that I am going with do not... can I still park in the Soak City lot? And don't I have to go to guest relations in the front of the park to get my pass scanned and hand stamped to even get through the gates? CoastersRZ
Not sure about the people in your group that don`t have a Maxx Pass. But I know for a fact that you can enter the park from the Magnum gate with your Maxx Pass from KI. I went to CoasterMania in June and stayed in Breakers. My brother and I entered the Magnum entrance to the park the night before the event. They simply asked us to write our names down and where our Maxx Pass was from. Touchdown
-Anyone can park in the Soak City lot and enter via the Magnum entrance. Also Magnum has a ticket booth if they are buying their tickets there -Magnum has a guest relations office, so you can get in there if your pass doesn't work at the gate (but supposedly by now all Ohio Passes should work at the gates at the Ohio parks but no harm in just going in, there will be no line)
TOPGUN1993
Go into the little building to the right of the magnum gates....then you sign your name in and your in the park
markr
Was there last Saturday. Was pretty crowded although not as crowded as the peak season of July and August. See my trip report for details.
