jzarley
I missed this release when it first came out... http://biz.yahoo.com/bizj/071004/1530747.html?.v=1 http://money.cnn.com/2007/10/04/news/compa...rce=yahoo_quote I don't understand the comments in the second article about this being Disney's first resort not adjacent to one of their parks... Doesn't Disney still own the DVC property in Hilton Head? (Not to mention Castaway Cay, which is their cruise ship port-o-call.)
ragerunner
Last I heard they still own the Hilton Head property and they also own the Vero Beach Disney Resort.

Cory Butcher
That is why you can't always believe what you read. However, earlier in the second article it states that it will be the first with out a "nearby amusement park" not neccesarily a Disney Amusement Park. jzarley
^ so...what's the "nearby" (non-Disney) park in Hilton Head? Yeah, I know all about not believing everything you read in the newspaper. (I have a degree in journalism after all ) But what I thought was strange was that I saw that same type of "first disney resort not near a park" spin in a few different articles, which made me think it was info coming out of Disney, as opposed to just an extraneous assumption from a reporter. That's what I really found kind of odd...
Gordon Bombay
JZ, in response to your earlier question, Disney still owns the property in Hilton Head, both the beach front pool house and property as well as their condos near Shelter Cove. I went to Hilton Head this summer, it was my 4th time, every time we stay in those DVC resorts. They're very nice and a great value however they're staring to show their age.
