We got through just about everything I wanted to do with the exception of the Cemetery and Massacre Manor before midnight. However the under age scareactors had to go home at midnight. When we went through the Cemetery at about 12:30, there were only THREE scareactors! Then at Massacre Manor, there were probably about 8 of them, but I think that could have really been a scary haunt if all of the actors were in it. By law a minor must have one 1/2 hour long break every 5 hours of an open work shift and must be clocked out from their job by 11 P.M. if they are enrolled in school and it is a school night. However, on a night when there isn't school they are not restricted by how late they can work according to Ohio Revised Code chapter 4109: ( http://198.234.41.198/w3/webwh.nsf/Files/M...E/MLLPoster.pdf ). Also, citywide weekend curfews for minors are hardly in existence anymore around this area. The city of Fairfield did away with theirs in 2006 ( I was stopped in 2005 by a polic officer who questioned me about why I was out so late and had to show proof that I was returning from my place of employment ). Most city's have an exception in thier curfews for minors going to and from places of employment. I dont believe Mason has a curfew, my last year of High School ( 2007 ) We did a civics day project with schools in Mason and one of the things we debated was city wide curfews and to my knowledge at that time Mason had no curfew. Fine, why not announce the mazes close at midnight? How is the public to know a post-midnight maze is a lesser experience than before midnight? Well? Even if they tell the public in advance that a lot of the scareactors have to leave at midnight, that would solve a lot of unhappiness. At least then I would expect it. The cemetery really just made me kind of upset. We probably walked 500 feet without seeing anyone! Not only that, but the greeters at the last two were still pairing people into groups of 6-8 and there were only about 20 people in line! I have an idea.. I think that after the minors leave, they should close a few of the haunts and move the remaining scareactors from those into the other haunts. Granted they wouldn't be properly themed, but if they pulled off a good scare, I wouldn't care at all if it was a cornstalker in Redbeard's Revenge, or a zombie in Massacre Manor. Our managers have told us that we have to be clocked out by 1 a.m. I do not know the reasons why this is. The minors are not pulled out of thier mazes untill 12:45 a.m. This gives us enough time to get back and clock out and by that time there arent usually that mant people still waiting to go through the mazes.
