The Interpreter
http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...2/ENT/710120365 Note it mentions the nearest other 4D theater is at Geauga Lake.
Gordon Bombay
I had no idea the zoo was even building such a thing. I remember the one at GL being pretty lame, that robots of mars movie was the hardest storyline i ever had to follow of any ride like that and it was just awful. Honey I shrunk the audience at Epcot is awesome though. I think this is a great investment for the zoo. The zoo has so much history and its great to see it expanding and still doing good these days. I like this quote from the article in particular... "SimEx ... knew they were going away because audiences just weren't embracing them." You really dont see any theatres similar to the one KI and Carowidns have. Makes you wonder how much long they'll stay around, especially after watching how aged films likve Elvira and Spongebob have become.
The Interpreter
You must mean you don't see any new ones being built, as most theme parks and many amusement parks have the theaters like Carowinds and Kings Island...from Wild Adventures to Kentucky Kingdom to Great Adventure, etc.
Gordon Bombay
Dont the ones at places like SFKK and Great Adventure though have other special effects? I didn't think they were the same iwerks theaters. Also, last time I was at Carowinds, 7th portal was playing, so we passed it up. I shtier iwerks theatre the same size? The Interpreter
Great Adventure's has other effects, but not that many. Kentucky Kingdom's is similar to Kings Island's, but much smaller. And I do believe Carowinds is smaller than Kings Island's installation. At one time, Cedar Point had a large IMAX theater, which no longer is an attraction there. http://www.1570films.com/north%20american%...oh_sandusky.htm
BoddaH1994
When I saw the Stargate film at the SFKK one, the only 4D effect that they had was fans that would blow on you. Of course, it would have been a neat effect except for the fact that the fans would kick on at the appropriate time, but the cool air would actually reach you after the event was over.
