October 14, 200718 yr Most untrue thread ever. How? I do agree with his comments. Combine the local economy with trying to bring back the original GL fans was very difficult. Chances are, GL lost a generation of fans, and the older generation just did not want to go back. And for the others, the money was just not there. Many parks across the nation have really not seen a decline in attendance, but it certainly is not increasing as well.
October 17, 200718 yr It wouldn't suprise me at some point if Cedar Fair sells all the paramount parks but keeps Kings Island, the closeness yet farness of the 2 parks makes it good business to own both parks
October 18, 200718 yr There's no question that Mr. Kinzel wanted Kings Island very badly. If the remainder of the Paramount Parks are sold at some point, I agree, it would not surprise me if Kings Island were retained.

Carowinds & KD offer CF a much longer operating season than their mid-western parks due to the climate so those wouldn't go anywhere as they're also turning a profit for the company.CWL is a virtual "jewel in the crown" that was never recognized until the aqquisition so it's safe to say that their future as a park is pretty secure as well, especially given the huge coaster they're installing for 2008.
October 18, 200718 yr Except, when/if debt levels may require some park sales, what will be sold is that which will generate money to pay off debt. Being in another country entirely, with different laws and customs, I think it a safe bet to say that Wonderland may be among the very first parks sold, if any are.
