Guest faceoff
Has anybody stayed in the twin section(older section) of the hotel breaker's? This is the section facing the parking lot of the hotel. If so, do the rooms have the electronic card locks and is the air conditioning a window unit or wall mounted? These rooms have a queen size bed with shower only. Thanks for any information.
KIBeast
I stayed in the old section once. I believe the air was wall mounted and they did have the electronic key cards. It was not great, but definitely beats the heck out of the nearby Travelodge. Plus, the sheer convenience of being a two minute walk away from the back gate is what really rocks. Guest faceoff
Thanks for your reply. I have stayed in the main section and the bon aire section. Yesterday, i made my reservation for the twin section for memorial day weekend and halloweekends. I mailed the deposit today.
CoastersNSich
I stayed in this section the last night Breakers was open in 2005. This room used a traditional key, a window air conditioning unit. With me being the only person staying in that room, and the proximity to the park (I could see east toward Corkscrew, Wicked Twister and Space Spiral), it was a neat experience, though not necessarily the most luxurious one. Definitely not suitable for more than two people.
flightoffear1996
If your going to spend $120-$150 a night why not stay at Khalari Resort or Castaway Bay?
Guest faceoff
All i need is a clean room with with everything in working order. Since it is not the most expensive room, i am just interested being in the breakers with room service and access to the shuttle service. I do hope they switched to the card locks, so i can put the card in my wallet and not have to worry about losing the key on rides.
Guest faceoff
The room at the breakers(twin section) is $99. With tax it is $107 per night. I did stay at castaway bay last october. On monday of columbus day weekend, i checked out of the breakers and checked into castaway bay for two nights. I was using up my 2007 vacation days. I really liked castaway bay. The only thing, i would change about castaway bay is have parking at Cedar Point included with room rate(rooms are above $200) or have a shuttle for guests to front gate. Browntggrr
When I have stayed in that section, the difference in rooms varies a great deal. Most have a window A/C unit, but some do have the traditional wall unit. There is no elevator access. The room will be clean, but it is in a much older part of HB, so basically you a getting what you pay for. It's a room, with a bed, stand-up shower only, TV and AC. That's about it. You should also be real close with whoever you are staying with, these rooms did not have comfort or space in mind when they were designed. But in all honesty, if you are planning on being in the park open to close, it is hard to beat the deal. In May those rooms go for about $80. But their is no driving back and forth to your hotel off CP property. If you get a package deal, meals are discounted and you get a bunch of decent coupons (many for Challenge Park), and you get in the park early just because you are a guest at the park. Delirium33
We are panning our first trip to Cedar Point in May, so I have a couple questions too. I think we are planning to drive up on a Saturday morning and spend one night in a resort hotel to get the ERT on Sunday. Now we have KI platinum passes, which should get me into the CP parking lot for free. So my question is, for one night, is it worth paying the extra money to stay at Hotel Breakers and walk to the park (from what i understand it is very close) or should we just stay in the Breakers Express hotel and drive in and park for free. Is the Breakers Express a dump? It certainly is cheaper. We do NOT want to stay in the 'old' section of Hotel Breakers if we go. So what's our best bet? Browntggrr
Breakers Express is decent, nothing more or less than a Econo Lodge or Micro-Tel. I would rather stay in the old section of Breakers, than at Breakers Express. BE traditionally is for families with younger kids, or kids that recently turned 18 that can now get a hotel room for their friends and sneak them in. It can be quite noisy at night. CoastersRZ
I stayed in the Hotel Breakers this past year. The reason was, is my brother and I were there for Coastermania. My parents and sister went to Cleveland to do a college visit at Case Western. The only reason we staid at Hotel Breakers was so that my brother and I could go back to the hotel room for a break in the middle of the day if we needed to, without having access to a car. Yes, it is within walking distance of the park. You are a couple minutes from either the Magnum gate, or the gate near the Wicked Twister and soon to be Planet Snoopy midway. I don`t know if it is necessarily worth the ERTs. Keep in mind that the day I was there, the ERTs for CM started at 6am, long before the resort ERT started. Gordon Bombay
Stayed at Breakers Express two nights this past summer, only drawbacks was the location of wi-fi only in the lobby, and that the "continental breakfast" they offered was not free, of course they don't mention that till you get to the end of the line. While using my laptop in the lobby to work on some stuff there were a lot of families coming in who got moved from old breakers, ticked off that there was no air conditioning. Guest faceoff
Since i am not married and do not have a girlfriend-the space of the room will be fine. But if i did have a girlfriend, i would be honored to be with her and hope she is having a great time at america's rollercoast.

Is the Breakers Express a dump? It certainly is cheaper. We do NOT want to stay in the 'old' section of Hotel Breakers if we go. So what's our best bet? I stayed at the Breakers Express this past September and it definitley proved that you get what you pay for. We had two rooms booked in two seperate names, and for some reason the girl at the front desk put both rooms on one invoice. We stood there for about 45 minutes while she and the manager tried to figure out how to split the invoice back up. Mistakes happen but 45 mins to correct something that seemed so simple was a little much for me. The rooms were not the greatest. They were small and our A/C unit was all out of whack. We called for extra pillows at bed time and took about an hour and two more phone calls to the front desk to get them. If you are not picky about your accomodations and want an affordable place to stay near the park, then it is definitley an option, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are planning on putting 4+ people in the room. Hope this helps!
Guest faceoff
I have stayed at the breaker's express four times, and never had a bad experience. Each time, the a/c was working and so was everything else. I would as with castaway bay-have a Cedar Point shuttle pick up guest and take them to front gate.
