Kentucky Kingdom: Rides vanish from website per Screamscape

Recommended Posts

ok when has SFKK had a bad safety record the last time I checked the accident was the 1st mojor accident of the parks history and also the park maintence i think is great at SFKK because theres always a mechanic around. one time I got stuck on chang and the mechanic came up to us and told us what was going on and we where off in less then 5min. So I disagree with you on all points.

Have you forgotten Vampire. I consider that an accident! Especially when riders have to be removed by a cherry picker! Especially when the ride has to be removed!!

Many, many times.

When it was relocated to Massachusetts it acquired a catwalk.

That same summer, FaceOff got stuck many, many times as well (in the valley before the second lift--not the roll), and had to be evacuated....using a ladder...it got catwalks added as well....

I believe Face-Off has had the catwalks along its lift since it was originally installed, however there is no catwalk on the cobra roll.

Edit: I meant "Invertigo" not "Face-Off"

rcfreak, i think you can leave the moderating to the moderators, they're discussing Kentucky Kingdom

...that wasn't very nice... :(

but really lets talk about something other then the accident or anything that comes close to it...

But really, listen when I say leave the moderating to the moderators. Members on here were discussing topics within the terms of service and that were relevant to the topic at hand, if you do not wish to discuss them, then don't. If they wish to, then they will.

I wasn't moderatoring anybody I was just saying.

cool down.

I am talking about in the valley before the second lift...and no, they weren't there at first, they had to use ladders to evacuate guests...

How were the Deja Vu coasters evacuated?

Also, is it going to be a major disappointment that Twisted Twins won't be operating when i visit.

Sorry for the double post but Yes its is sorta a dissipotent that twisted twins will not be operating because on some days its a great ride but when it rains or gets way to hot it feels like its about to de-rail you really got to catch the ride on a perfect day.

rcfreak, you were instructing other members to get back on topic, when they in fact weren't off topic. When a topic gets out of hand and is off topic or another terms of service rule is broken, a moderator (Me, CoastersRZ, Captain Nemo) or an Administrator (Boddah1994, Dane, or zosobeast) will take care of it. I was pointing out that the members discussing SFKK in this topic were discussing subjects relevant to the topic and were in fact not off topic, also that there was no reason for you to tell them otherwise. This wasn't to be mean, but to tell you the rules. Now, I already posted to get this topic back in the direction it was going, so please, continue to discuss the topic at hand, because the topic of moderation is over. Any questions, always feel free to PM me or another staff member.

Yeah i remember going to SFKK about 5 years ago and seeing it was being poorly maintained. I rode Chang in the front car and yellow foam was sticking out from the seat! I haven't been back since. KI is and always will be my home park! Now that I'm moving back to Indy i may plan a trip down to Louisville this summer.

Ok so i get it they evacuate the ride but it's still not supposed to happen. :P

Actually, there are times when rides are stopped on purpose and evacuated. This can be due to many reasons from an unruly guest to a mechanical problem noticed by the rides crew. The evacuations are carefully done and follow park approved procedures. Just because their is an evacuation does NOT mean there is an accident.
