IBEW_Sparky
Hey, I was just looking at the rides for sale site that was associated with Interpretors post about Blue Diamond Park and I saw a Gen1 Intamin Drop ride posted there. When I looked at the bigger pics, I saw it clearly said Demon Drop on the ride. is this just a stock photo the site uses for that ride or did CP drop the Drop? I figured some of you CP fans would know.
Thrill_Biscuit
I still see it on CP's web site. Nothing there indicates its removal. Would hate to see it go. The Link
Beast1979
Awesome, I would hate to see a ride removed the year before I go to CP! I seriously doubt that Demon Drop OR Corkscrew has numbered days.
The Interpreter
Guess again. Demon Drop IS for sale. It has been for quite some time.
Beast1979
It's a good thing no one wants to buy it!
Colonel_SoB_fan
It's a good thing no one wants to buy it! I love Demon Drop wouldn't mind seeing that in Action Zone or X-Base
The Interpreter
It's for sale. That means Cedar Fair would like to see money for it. A transfer between Cedar Fair parks is VERY unlikely. Note that Six Flags sold or destroyed virtually all of their first generation drop rides some time back. I love Demon Drop, too. I'd miss it terribly, I still miss Stuntman's Free Fall at Great Adventure. Just as when the Flying Eagles left Kings Island, somehow Great Adventure is just not the same without Stuntman's. IBEW_Sparky
I am glad its not going (yet) and I agree 100% about LOVING to see it at KI... though that wont happen. I had my first experience on an Intamin Drop at Geauga Lake (R.I.P) when Mr Hyde's Nasty Fall was in operation..... and BOY do i wish I would have had the cojones to ride one of those sooner. flightoffear1996
Demon Drop is amazing. Much better than power tower.
DropZone99
I love Demon drop, it is the best drop ride in my opinion. I would love to see it at KI, it could fit in great in X-BASE but it's about a 1 in 1,00,000 chance.
Jasper
Yes when i went to Cedar Point it was my first ride i ever rode up there and i love that feeling when you start to drop and your stomach goes up in your throat. I think it would be awesome of Kings Island got this ride but like everyone has said, not going to happen.
DiSab
Demon Drop is not going anywhere, at least this year, as I've been hearing they is a operating crew on it. However, in all honesty, I see it leaving after 2008. The parts are getting old, and it's becoming a lot harder to find replacements these days. And the fact that I've heard that it would often get to the point where the mechanic would stay at the ride platform waiting for it to break down again... And the fact that several times last season when I was up there DD would not be running for all or most of the day. If it's not sold before the start of the 2009 season, I think Demon Drop will go on to ride heaven...
The Interpreter
To the contrary, if Cedar Fair gets a bona fide offer to purchase Demon Drop conditioned on the buyer taking possession now, I doubt seriously the fact they have selected a crew for it would have ANY bearing on whether or not they sold the ride. If CP stays true to their history, planning a ride removal leads way to a new ride. Since DD has been for sale for a few years now, there is a good chance that 2008 will be it's last year. KIBeast
I like Demon Drop as well. Way better than Drop Tower.
