soviettraitor Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Ok heres the thing.Me and my friend were talking about how mad he was after he went to PKI a few months ago.He hasn't been there since 2000.While we were talking,a lady over herd us and told us that a few weeks after it opened,the train de-railed in the helix,killing 2 people.A few weeks later at a Boy Scout meeting,one of the leaders confirmed this,because she was in line for it.She then told us that it was kept quiet to the media so the park wouldn't lose attenece.Is this true,or is it a lie to make my friend fell better?
Browntggrr Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 King Cobra did have a derailment within a couple years after it opened, but to my memory (I was only 10 or 11), there were no fatalities. I can remember my relatives sending my family in Erie, PA a Cincinnati Enquirer pic and article of some of the details of what happened. There was a death on Shockwave at PKD where a man somehow was thrown from the ride. Shockwave is a KC clone.

Thats absolute bull****, no one has ever died on a ride at PKI because of a ride malfunction like that. Period. Not on King Cobra, not on anything.
