Delirium33
I can't wait to head back to the park! Any bets on how much a Cinnabon cinnamon roll will cost at KI? I'm going to say around $7, maybe more with extra icing or something... but it will be an awesome addition to the park. I'm getting excited! I'm looking more for like is it being built on the north or south side of the fountains, what store used to be there, stuff like that. Hard to tell from the picture. -Tb

The Interpreter
Just think how much sense it would make to be able to get a Cinnabon and a cup of coffee before the rides open....I wonder if Cedar Fair can figure out a way to make that possible? WooferBearATL
I believe it is on the south side of the fountains in the old keyhole photo next to starbucks Looks like the space next to International Pizza. Used to be International Ice Cream Shoppe.

derek9312
They could always move the ropes up towards the tower and then block off the entrance to Coney and open all of the shops up then it would accommodate both the park as they get a head start on the business and also the guests as all of the shops on I-Street would be open and they would have something to do for the 30 minutes before the park opens
The Interpreter
What an innovative idea....sounds like the way Taft, KECO and even Viacom ran the park, successfully for so many years. I agree with you. Will they have the courage to try something so sensible?
italianchef
I look forward to returning to Kings Island. And I'm glad that I'll be employed, even though I'll only be a temp.
BoddaH1994
Check out the photo gallery again. I was sent a rather interesting photo of the Backlot Stunt Coaster's trains being prepared to be reloaded onto the track. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=
The Interpreter
....sigh...every time I see that area, I think of what was, and what might have been. Oh well, that's the past...let's hope for bright things in the future. Send in the cranes, There ought to be cranes, And now it's next year... I agree with you. Will they have the courage to try something so sensible? It was an innovative idea. Back in the 70's, 80's, 90's, and part of the 00's it was innovative. <G> Who knows, seems like CF may be using some pages out of KECO's success book. Sooooo.... Maybe we'll see it again. By the way, sounds like Screamscape got it right again with some of their facts.
Beast1979
Having not been around during the Taft/KECO period, I can't agree or disagree. Although, I can't wait for another KI season. And whoever was in there taking pictures, why couldn't he have taken pic's of the "Proposed countruction site" of the "New Coaster"
The Interpreter
Because who was in there taking pictures was Don Helbig, the PR guy for the park. He took pictures and released them to this media outlet only of what he and the park wanted you to see. It's called building excitement. And it's obviously working. Send in the cranes, There ought to be cranes, And now it's next year.
Beast1979
^O.K. I get it. He is really good at creating hype. Even though I'm Kinda sick of "Thank you for intrest in Kings Island, At this time we have nothing to tell you, but opening day is Aprill 20th, why don't you come on down and find out?" And you got youre cranes thing going on again, don't you Interp?
The Interpreter
Don Helbig does what he does and I do what I do. We both have the same interests at heart, when it comes to this stuff....
Beast1979
And I STILL Never understand any of you're little hints. Can you give me a better one, or PM a REALLY obvious one?

There is a reason those who may know things do....it's called keeping things in confidence and having credibility. Keep your enthusiasm, though! (Is that A Word?) Either way, I can't wait to see the construction sites, and slap myself on the head while saying, "Gosh, I was SO dumb!" coaster_junky
i have a feeling that rivertown will be very crowded on the 20th . so if i get to go i might wait a while before i go over there.
Beast1979
^Which is what they want. I love taking pictures, and this year I will be documenting everything for my personal gallery. And I will be taking pictures of every bit of construction

And I will be taking pictures of every bit of construction so you are saying they want everyone in the park to just go to rivertown? leaving all of the other rides with no lines at all. it would be like when everyone ran to x-base to be first in line for Firehawk. Beast1979
No, I'm saying that they want everyone to gawk at the new ride, and realize that there's a new ride without having to have a press release.
WooferBearATL
I think that Cedar Fair is just being environmentally concious. They're attempting to save the trees by cutting down on Press Release Paper.
Purplehaze
Thats it woofer I also think it is a great idea for the park to consider. I mean think about it, all 2008 season, people will be seeing new developments concerning this new ride all season. it is a good marketing strategy also for the next season season pass and ticket sales.
