Lauch
Just wanted to let you know that "Drop Tower" (aka old Drop Zone) is undergoing (from what I can see from here) tests today. Since I'm not close enough to tell, I'm assuming that they are using test dummies instead of people. All I saw was the ride going up to the top (or close to it) and then slowly coming back down. I haven't seen it actually drop yet. I would also venture to guess that it's because of the season pass processing that's going on..in order to "show off" the rides. Anybody close to sources that can enlighten me on this?
Gordon Bombay
Thanks for the report Lauch, and I think I have an answer. Not really "from the sources" but something all the parks do...they're probably just doing test cycles. The state and manufacturers require that the rides be cycled so many times before they open for the season. For the next two weeks it probably won't be uncommon to see the rides going about test cycles until opening day.
TH13TEEN
This is great I am so happy to see the park come back to life.
Beast1979
YA! Finally life at Kings Island. After this long, brutal, and cold cold offseason, The Amusement park Skyline is coming out of hybernation. Just think, a couple more weeks and we'll be riding...
iChase
It's sure nice to know the park is beginning to breathe again. It's always a little sad when it's not functioning and empty.
Mr. Christopher
While I was up at the park today, Invertigo was going through some test cycles in addition to Drop Tower. I also saw some checks on top of Delirium going on. It won't be soon before long...
HTCO
Yeah I saw it today while I was at track.
Phantom Theater
It's sure nice to know the park is beginning to breathe again. It's always a little sad when it's not functioning and empty. Poor Geauga Lake. Will never operate rides again. :( :(
iChase
That is really sad. I can't imagine if it were us in Geauga's fans' position. It would be pretty unfathomable if KI turned into an exclusive water park.
The Interpreter
and probably only that for a while.... Terpy, who really doubts that Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom has a long term future...
cholderfield
I second that. While Geauga Lake has never been my "Favorite" park, living in Columbus I visited it once or twice a year. I'm not driving 2 1/2 hours+ to a water park....
