IheartKI
Ok, so Sunday I was strolling down International Street, taking in the wonderful ambience that is KI...when all of a sudden I realized something...I couldn't hear the Indiana Jones Theme music playing...it was Ricky Martain!?!?! Hello!?! I'm totally for Paramount getting the heck out of KI, but please, Ricki Martain?!?! International Street is one of the most special places at KI, and the Paramount theming music was definitly missing! Comments???
The Interpreter
Paramount has left the park. You might as well get used to it.
CoastersRZ
On Sunday, I heard the Plain White Ts and Hey There Delilah playing on International Street. Yes, once Paramount left the building, so to speak, so did the classical and movie tracks that used to be played on International Street. However, Adventure Express still has the Indiana Jones music playing in the station.
clbehymer
I actually enjoyed the music on International Street before the Paramount days.
welchce
Livin' la Vita Loca? I heard a Lion King or some other Disney movie song when walking into KI Friday at 5:30.
The Interpreter
Cedar Fair is playing the music they do on International Street, in my opinion, as a way of showing they own the park and the Paramount days are gone. It would not surprise me if a few years from now the classical music and gentle modern standards of days of olde returns, but not soon. Erosarrow05
Ricky Martin does not particularly make me think Cedar Fair, perhaps tacky though. True, the genre is different but there are plenty of other instrumental selections that would fit in with the international street "theme". I personally do not care for the selections that are played currently on IS... Can we have some phillip glass please?
Jasper
This makes sense considering if you have ever been to CP, TTD has Ready To Go by Republica playing in the station.
BavarianBeatle
I've heard lots of bad music in the park this year, so far......... As in BAD 80's and 90's songs that were tacky when they were released...... No "Ice Ice Baby' or "Rico Suave" yet thank God, but almost as bad..... CoastersNSich
Heck, if I were in charge, I'd add a selection of classic rock to the Int. St. soundtrack that might make some of you vomit. I liked the instrumental movie-like soundtrack, but after a while it just got old on me.
deerhunter
I miss hearing the French music on International Street.
BavarianBeatle
Since it is "International" Street and 80's and 90's seem to be the emphasis, how about this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blkxSkJzNAU WARNING: This video is absolutely awful!!!! IheartKI
Oh yeah, and another thing...while I was waiting in line for The Beast on Friday (While it was broken down) NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK was playing!?!?!?!?! "You got the right stuff!" Now seriously...why in the *#(@(*(! would they play that...then "Girls just want to have fun" came on after that! COME ON! Put some ambiance back into the park/stations! deerhunter
I was getting on The Beast and they were playing Wake Me Up Before You Go Go..how anti-climatic...probably the fruitiest video ever. As for the You Tube video..Loudness wow!..that brings back memories...Akira Takasaki was a heck of a guitar player... LOL..WOCK AND WOLL QUAZY NIGHTS...YOU ARE DA HEWO TONIGHT. Like Elmer Fudd gone metal

deerhunter
Wow....i didnt know that music was such i huge deal............ANYWAY....... The music they played on International Street during the 70's added to the ambience. That is a huge deal...gave it more of a European feel. BavarianBeatle
I agree. The music is a big deal. It enhances (or detracts from) the experience a great deal. Standing in line being force-fed Wham and New Kids on the Block is unpleasant, at best. As for the youtube, I also considered Udo Dirkschneider, but decided Loudness was funnier because of those two 80's nerds.....
