KIBeast Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 I doubt we'll go this year, but, we'll have to make a trek over there next year. Thanks, Interpreter! Quote
tubaman Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Heres some pictures I found online for anyone interested the late Thunderbold Express (Screamin' Demon) http://homefires.us/coaster/thunderbolt.html Unfortunetly, the website hasn't been updated in some time, but they're still cool pictures. Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 I am reliably told that the miniature golf course opened today. It's apparently seven dollars, six with an admission ticket.... Quote
I_heart_pki Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I live about a half an hour away from Camden Park and I' planning on going there this weekend. It's a great park! The haunted house is truly one of a kind. I didn't go on the sky ride but at the very end of the line you use to be able to see screamin demon's old station. It looks so cool. Hooray for miniature golf!! Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Nothing is left of Thunderbolt Express. Not a trace! It's quite remarkably gone! Not a footing, not a trace. Quote
I_heart_pki Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Then maybe it wasn't the station I use to see?? I don'tknow I just remember from the ride a creepy old building of some sort lol. I'm pretty excited to head up to the park. The Big Dipper will be my first rollercoaster of the year!! Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 The creepy old building you speak of used to be used for miniature golf many, many years ago. It is also gone! Don't miss Lil Dipper, too! It got a lot of new trackwork during the off season, and is the last surviving NAD kiddie coaster! Quote
I_heart_pki Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Ahhhh...It makes sense now. I've been wrong all this time. Well it wouldn't be the first time. I always hit up lil dipper too. along with the haunted house. it's amazing! Quote
KIBeast Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 Nothing is left of Thunderbolt Express. Not a trace! It's quite remarkably gone! Not a footing, not a trace. You mean not a footer! I'm going tonight to try out the new miniature golf. I will take pics and post them here as soon as I can. Quote
I_heart_pki Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 Nothing is left of Thunderbolt Express. Not a trace! It's quite remarkably gone! Not a footing, not a trace. You mean not a footer! I'm going tonight to try out the new miniature golf. I will take pics and post them here as soon as I can. that would be sweet. I wonder when they are going to get any new rides? Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted May 29, 2008 Author Posted May 29, 2008 You go to OU?! I live about 15 miles north of you. Have you ever heard of Jacksonville. It's near Glouster where Trimble High School is...I think you're the closest person to me on the site! Yep, and yes I have heard of Jacksonville and Glouster. I have spent much of my time on weekends driving around in the areas surrounding Athens. KI must be quite the treck for you. Quote

The Interpreter Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Apparently, there is a place with home-made ice cream just west of Camden Park on US60, and it's worth a try: http://www.herald-dispatch.com/entertainme...est-for-quality Quote
The Interpreter Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Welcome to Kings Island Central! Great pictures! May I point out each of those thumbnails is clickable? I also love this one: http://s582.photobucket.com/albums/ss266/r...nt=IMG_1215.jpg Did you get rained on? The park looked pretty empty! Quote
markr Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Nice trip report Ronny. I don't think I would like the longer cycles on the spinning rides, though. Very impressed by their log flume. Quote
Coasterfun Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Welcome to Kings Island Central! Great pictures! May I point out each of those thumbnails is clickable? I also love this one: http://s582.photobucket.com/albums/ss266/r...nt=IMG_1215.jpg Did you get rained on? The park looked pretty empty! Thank you! I like this site, I am a long time lurker. That was opening day and we actually missed the rain. By the way the Pronto pups were excellent as were the funnel cakes. I visited the park because of this trip report. Quote
Hoeter Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Excellent TR. Even though you visited last year Ronny, it looks like a lot of fun and I'll definately have to head up to Huntington to check it out. Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Park opens May 1. New attraction coming. Can't say more for now...but soon... http://www.camdenpark.com/new.html Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 I love the art deco design on that coaster! Ronny, once again, excellent pictures! Quote
