IheartKI
I was in line for The Vortex the other day, and I was looking for the old footers from The Bat...I thought I saw a couple...did they use most of the old bat footers for The Vortex? Also, can anyone tell me about the old Screamin Demon? I never knew it, and would like to know more about the history of it. Where it was located, why they got rid of it, and where it is now. CoastersRZ
Might I suggest that you use the search feature of the forums? It can be a powerful tool that can help you answer your questions. (Particularly in finding a thread titled "Defunct KI Rides" which will answer some of your questions.) Furthermore, The Vortex did not use most of the old FOOTINGS of The Bat. Most of the old Bat footings remain undisturbed on The Vortex site and can be readily seen.
The Interpreter
And most of the other questions were addressed in a recent thread entitled Photo TR: CP, which also can readily be found with the search feature..as easy as child's play for a doctor! DropZone99
Screaming Demon was near the current Congo Falls, and Drop Tower location. It was at Camden Park but it recently got removed... i think¿
BavarianBeatle
Yes. Screamin Demon ran approximately parallel to the rear of Timberwolf. It was then at Camden Park, where it was (according to nearly unanimous internet opinion) poorly maintained by that park's former owners to the point that it had to be scrapped. There is a virtually identical coaster at Fun Spot in Indiana, though. As for The Bat's footings, riding Vortex on the righthand side gives you a great view of them if you look down while going up the lift hill. The Interpreter
Ironically, the same owners who maintained Thunderbolt Express were in charge of maintaining Afterburner: http://www.rcdb.com/ig332.htm?picture=
Steve
It was basically a small prototype arrow looper. Kinda like a shuttle loop, it launched you into a loop, you go up a slope, slow down, and roll the other way going through the loop again. Jasper
I would not necessarily say that any coaster is boring. Some of them are not as INTENSE as others but to me all coaster provide a fun filled experience.

I think the kids and I will have to take a little drive up to Fun Spot sometime this summer... They have several rides similar to defunct KI rides. I think the kids will enjoy it, as much as they ask me what KI was like when I was their age.
The Interpreter
You might want to doublecheck that Afterburner is actually running before you go...last I heard it was not...if not, Diamond Back at Frontier City and Sidewinder at Elitch Gardens in Colorado are the only other Arrow shuttle loops still operating in the USA. Note the comments, too.

Please explain Taft's Enchanted Voyage... It was a ride that was very similar to a hydro flume. Essentially a dark ride, riders would float through a variety of scenes that were made up of HB characters. Was very, very popular an dlater became the Smurf's Enchanted Voyage. Well Gentlemen, before this goes any further, may I add a little humor here and suggest that Mickey Mouse (Oops, I just infringed on a trademark) and Papa Smurf (Oops, did it again) should file lawsuits against each other in order to resolve this issue...
