June 4, 200818 yr Hello, I remember when KI first opened, and as a teenager, I had a season pass every year. That was a long time ago Back then, the best days of the week seemed to be Tuesdays or Thursdays. I'm wondering which is the best day to come. I'm talking about in terms of crowds. Which day has the least amount of people? Does anyone have some actual demographic data (i.e. something other than a hunch ) concerning park attendance? I will be in the area on Sunday July the 6th and staying through most of that next week. I'm wondering if the park would be crowded on that Sunday given it is a holiday weekend. Thanks.
June 4, 200818 yr Uh, when Kings Island first opened, there were no season passes.... And Cedar Fair doesn't release demographic data. And a Sunday following Independence Day will be a zoo, unless it snows. Or monsoons.
June 4, 200818 yr Author Uh, when Kings Island first opened, there were no season passes.... And Cedar Fair doesn't release demographic data. And a Sunday following Independence Day will be a zoo, unless it snows. Or monsoons. When I was a teenager, they had season's passes. KI opened when I was 5, so by the time I hit my teens, they had season passes. Also, I'm sure there are some industry folks on here who might have some working knowledge of the demographics. I'm interested to see how Cedar Fair has changed the park. It sounds like it is for the better.
June 4, 200818 yr Those who know value their jobs. They will not be sharing that highly proprietary data on a website, or in any other public forum. Mr. Kinzel has made it quite clear that individual parks' admission data is no longer to be shared with the public except in limited instances during investor conference calls. Period.
June 4, 200818 yr i certainly cant be quoted as being totally accurate, but i do know this from previous visits. Stay away from days that have special events, or around special events (like july 4th... and the weekend following as someone else so kindly pointed out...) i tend to also agree with the middle of the week as the best time to hit the park. tuesdays, wednesdays, and thursdays seem to be the least empty, although in july the park tends to be quite crowded on any given day as it is the heat of summer. Im going thursday, july 8th and i hope it isnt all that crowded, but then again im going with a group of about 1,500 people that day...
June 4, 200818 yr I think you mean Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays seem to be least busy, not the least empty!
June 4, 200818 yr If the weather cooperates, I want to get down to KI in the next week or two. Right now, the forecast is showing that, when its not storming, its going to be almost 100.
June 4, 200818 yr @ interp, at least i got the point across... i think thats what matters here. Id love to attend an empty thusday, but im in the process of moving, so i probably wont be going to the park for a good while, or specifically until thursday, July 8th...
June 4, 200818 yr I'm not picking on you...only trying to help. I knew what you meant, and wanted to be sure others did, too! Now could someone please tell me when to find an empty Great Adventure? Pretty please? And don't say when the park is closed!
June 4, 200818 yr Tuesday seems to be the most ignored day of the week, so I'm going with that! Crowds have been light at most for me on Tuesdays.
June 4, 200818 yr of course noone is going to be there on tuesdays, as it is a slow day, unless you are ordering dominos piza, in which you may experience delays for their 2x tuesdays! its the new friday!
June 4, 200818 yr Now could someone please tell me when to find an empty Great Adventure? Pretty please? And don't say when the park is closed! With a one person Gold Flash Pass, everyday is an empty day at GAdv!!!
June 4, 200818 yr I'm going on Thursday. It will only be about 95 degrees, but I will be spending most of my time in Nick. hopefully folks will think it is too hot.
June 7, 200818 yr I'd say any day that is 95 degrees and humid! But seriously, Tues thru Thurs is your best days. I'd recommend that you do not go on a holdiday weekend, especially not the 4th of July weekend, it will be packed until you can't see any concrete to walk on
June 7, 200818 yr Oh I remember some years ago when me and my friend went on Easter Sunday. I don't know how the park was opened because it hasn't been opened on an Easter since (I don't think atleast.) Basically, that was the greatest day I ever had at KI. There were no lines what-so-ever. Except FoF had about a 15 minute wait but that was honestly it. We walked on every ride, rode Vortex 4 times in a row without actually getting out of the train (this was the only ride they let us do it on, every other ride, the workers had us get out and go through the queues.) So my point is, Easter Sunday is the best day to go, that is if the park is open.
June 7, 200818 yr Wednesday is pretty slow. Tuesdays are slow enough, but you have all "those" season pass holders getting to ride twice

I'd recommend that you do not go on a holdiday weekend, especially not the 4th of July weekend, it will be packed until you can't see any concrete to walk on Not to mention so many of the walking surfaces are still hot, cracked, old black asphalt. But, you won't be able to see that either then!
June 7, 200818 yr I think there are times when crowds add to the atmosphere. The crowds were just unimaginable when I went during Haunt. But, I didn't mind it. I think it makes it more exciting. Plus, I got to visit with my friends a lot while waiting in line.
June 7, 200818 yr I don't mind the lines so much when it's HH, the weather is pleasant to cool so I don't have to be miserable in line.
