Coasterkidman
Well, I made it. I got to Cedar Point. 1.2 days really wasn't enough, but I got more than enough for my Coaster Fix! I've been Putting this TR off, so bear in mind this happened Tuseday and Wednesday. The Trip was about 4 hours long, and the weather for the first half was good, then as we got closer to the lake, the tempurature dropped and the skies went overcast. It didn't rain, but It was chilly and windy for a good time. And After a long drive I finally saw this Beautiful sign. Which was dwarfed by this even more appealing sign! I was really Surprised by how simply large Lake Erie is, and on the way to the Pennisula we went over a hill, and I got my first Air of the Trip! After looking at nothing but Corn Farms, rundown neighborhoods, and McDonalds signs, the Cedar Point Skyline hit me with amazing force. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat, because I never have seen a more beautiful silouet. The drive around the pennisula to the Breakers was a great one, simply because on one side was the awesome Lake Erie (I stay on the Atlantic Ocean on Vacation, I never see water this peaceful), and on the other was some close up veiw of some nice roller coasters! Blue Streak was not amazingly photogenic, yet Raptor is one you can photograph over and over! Mean Streak looks Real cool! And as far as the ride experience, I'll get to that later. . . Thou sees thy great Airtime off the port side! Cedar Point did a spectacular job getting these Coasters to Race! Even the Sign for the Hotel is cool, Cedar Point has Quantety and Quality! I wondered why It looked so Nostalgiac, Untill I learned It was 103 Years old. The Check In took a while, (Just to find out we couldn't check in till 4:00, 3 hours away,) so the Peanuts videos came in handy! Cedar Point is just one of those parks where you can look at picture after picture, but you have to see it in person. MF's lift hill is just, fantastic! Power Tower looks cooler than Drop Tower, ony cause It actually looks like a tower, not some big stick. Top Thrill Dragster is just soo tall, it's surreal that they could build somthing so high. I see you! Corkscrew Runs it's course extremely fast, it is a very painful ride. Through the trees. . . Magnum's Got cool Trains (And Air). The Support tubes are really big around. I tried to catch a train on the tower, but the speed is as surreal as the hight. Corkscrew goes over the midway. That's one of the things I like about CP, the rides are there, and there is such a great interaction between Riders and Guests. (BTW, I spy with my little Eye, An Evil Storm, A Bottle Opener, and a Steel Mythical Beast) Power Tower is a bit smaller than DT. Iron Dragon has a great setting, over the south end of the lake, which is more of a swampy lagoon. Hold up you're buckets and hope for loose change! I am surprised they havent built gates or something under the inversions, because they'd never do that today! Raptor's loop doesn't look tall, but it's really 100 feet high! Blue Streak Was my First Ride of the Day! It provided an amazingly smooth ride, and fantastic Airtime, I highly recomend this one! Lots of Supports. Told ya Raptor was easy to photograph. The Midcourse brakes are where you are like: "Wow, I kicked the sky! Now my feet feel wierd". But the Best is still to come! Here they come! Raptor was a Seagull-Doody Magnet. Me and Snoopy chillen in front of the Joe-Cool Cafe. My Brother Joe with the Bird. What's his name again? Iron Dragon was not to good. It didn't have much speed, which killed the ride. The location was cool, though. Swinging through the trees, then swooping over the water.
Coasterkidman
I then Went through Fronteir Town (I forgot to take picutres, sorry), and When I came Out I saw this: A Curving drop over the lake. 95* drop in the background. TTD is visible from any angle of the park. The Stengel Roll Looks Cool, but it hurts. Again, you have to see it to feel it. Kudos to CP for themeing, but the line was long, so no rides. Yet. Woodie ahead! I really enjoyed Mean Streak, I didn't find it rough at all! Corkscrew-and-Lift-Hillage. My dad is an 8 Year Old at heart, and he is just a fun guy t be around. Me and my riding Partner infront of another great Coaster! June 17 was actually Gemini's 30th anneverary! People were welcome to sign the sign (woa, word meanings) and wish Gemini a Happy Birthday. My name is on there somwhere. . . We then Rode Raptor, which was a great ride but I have no pics of it since my camera was at the breakers, so yea. Another B&M Awaits. . . One should be ridden at all costs, the other should be just the oppasite. Through the Supprts and Trees. . . Really big loop. If it were any smaller my legs would have broken. Cool Decor at the Top Awaiting my impending doom, seriously though this ride hurt. Awesome Photo credit to My mom I then waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for my next ride, the Millennium Force. In a nutshell: MF is a great ride with awesome speed and wicked air and is my #1!
Coasterkidman
We then headed back to the hotel for dinner and some R&R time. We had a sweet view of the lake from our room (Which was nice, too). I headed out with my mom to some Exlusive Late Night Rides on TTD, but when My mom saw Snoopy in the Lobby she couldn't resist. The second Tallest and Second Fastest roller coaster ont he planet, and that didn't dawn on me till later. . . This is about where it dawned on me, right before the launch. TTD is pretty Taunting, but don't let that hasten you off the ride! Arms up High for my first ride! Ride #2. The TTD is awesome, but the only thing wrong with it is it's to short. Little did I know my fate after the fun . . . Our train got stuck at the end. People Kep on shouting: "You broke the Roller coaster" which was hilarious. They Finally pulled our train into the station at a remarkable 1.0 mph. I think we outran that Walking courpse though. . .
Coasterkidman
Sunrise on the Lake My brother took a walk on the beach with my mom, and stuck his foot in the water. When I asked him if it was cold, he Repiled: I don't know, my Foot went numb!" Going back into the Park I had one goal: Maverick So did these guys. And these guys. I saw a hoard of Watersildes, and I was like, "Who's gonna ride a Waterslide when its 65 degrees in July here!" The first Drop isn't too fun. Here you can see Skyscraper and Rip Cord. And Grand Prix Raceway. I didn't get to Challenge Park, but it's on my to-do-list! Airtime, baby! The entry into first drop is funky. I thought this was a lot more creative than the Step Up To The Stick method. 5 cents to anyone who can find the Coaster! Everyone is headed to the star of the show No, it's not Gemini Even though it's got a cool station It's Maverick Thats me in the Blue Shirt. I really enjoyed Maverick, but it was jerky in some areas so it's my number 2 behind MF. Saying Goodbye is always hard, so a walk on the Beach helped my cool off from my anger (or Mourning). Overall, I loved CP! I really Can't wait to Get Back!

Avatar
Nice photo trip report. If your dad is 8 years old then that is the first eight year old that could shave that I have seen! Actually while reading your report and seeing all the smiles in your pictures, it looks like you have a special family and had a great memorable trip together. Heart warming, thanks for a nice friday night read.

Zorba
Nice photos, I was there 2 weeks ago for the first time, but didn't want to carry around my camera. Now I wish I would've. Not sure how you don't think mean streak is rough, I think it is the roughest woodie I've ever been on . How where the lines over all? I was there on a Friday and Saturday and I could walk onto most rides. Longest wait was 45 mins on Raptor, MF, TTD and Maverick.
Coasterkidman
Lines were pretty average, I guess. Most rides were walk-ons or 5-10 minute waits, except for Maverick (1.5 hours). Millennium (1.3 hours), TTD (1.8 hours), Raptor (.6 hours), and Mantis (45 min.).
TH13TEEN
Why when I clicked on the pic to see it enlarged does it say you are JacksonPKI and why are you also Beast1979? Three usernames I think that is a big no no.

TH13TEEN
Isn't it a rule that you can only have one username?
welchce
Awesome TR. I was there on the 18th of July with my friends and we had an awesome time. MF was 45 minutes, Maverick was 1.25 hours, we managed to get on TTD right after it opened back up in the middle of the day and waited 20 minutes, Magnum was a walk on, Raptor was 15 after it opened back up in the middle of the day. I noticed you didn't mention Wicked Twister. I really like that one. I think Iron Dragon is a waste of time/space compared to Flight Deck but I guess some must like it. Anyway, great pictures. Why when I clicked on the pic to see it enlarged does it say you are JacksonPKI and why are you also Beast1979? Three usernames I think that is a big no no. Who are you talking about?
