Browntggrr Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 ^ It's not really a rumor anymore. I was really getting attached to that thread. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 At this rate of all the pointless post in this thread it jus t may. Quote
Vortexlover2 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 they definitely have a name by now, considering they're already putting themed teaser posters... but yeah, that's short for a hyper. Now I kinda hope its a dive machine. Quote
RailRider Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 4200 feet isnt bad at all, after all I believe AC at BGE is around 4600 feet. Remember the news broadcast refering to a coaster there and every one thought Griffon, hmm how about AC? Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 ...not everyone thought Griffon...at least one of us wondered if Mr. Spiegel had become tetched! Quote
strunk27 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Goliath at six flags over georgia is 4480 feet long. thats not too big of a difference... Quote
Raptor66 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hmm, well I am not believing any specific stats on this ride until I hear a press release. I don't think this is what our ride is going to be, but then again, maybe I just want to see a longer ride... Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 So you think the park and manufacturer filed plans in the planning office for something they aren't building. Why would you ever think that? Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 So you think the park and manufacturer filed plans in the planning office for something they aren't building. Why would you ever think that? Yep, dumb reporter...... Found the "decoy" plans! Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Well, plans DO change, but don't expect major differences.... Quote
Captain Picard Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 There has been times on here that they don't believe the press releases. Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 Well, perhaps with good reason. Press releases said many things about many Paramount rides which did not come to pass. Again, plans change. Quote
Raptor66 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Haha, my bad. I missed the part where they said they were looking at actual plans. Silly me. Quote
CoasterKrazy Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I must admit, the length of this coaster is a bit disappointing when compared to that of other B&M hypers. Here's hoping the reduced length is due to an extremely steep lift hill and first drop! Quote
RailRider Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Short, somewhat, but must you remember there are some great B&M Hypers close to the same length. AC at BGE is only off by a few hundred feet, thats a brake run. Hmm how great were Parmount Press Releases and then the ride half delivered. Remember the supposed rumble down the stairs as you entered the subway or the fish tailing effect on IJ:ST? Anyone? Plans change, but rarely is it an addition. Well folks the plans stated 3 loops but we decided 10 instead because we just have all this spare money laying around. Not likely, if anything there are normally cuts because of budget restrictions and over runs. Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 9, 2008 Author Posted July 9, 2008 I remember the poyurethane wheels and SunCor wood that Son of Beast was to have...the parking lot renovations that were to rival Universal, and then of course there is the incredible landscaping around what is now Backlot Stunt Coaster, which was planned to be far nicer than the rocky thing it is.... Quote
Ki Man Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 3 loops? Now think... What's KI's known for? The Beast. Maybe the SoB. What do they have in common? Two big helices. 2009...3 loops, yep...that's what KI's known for... Surprise surprise, I knew this 4 months ago. Quote
TheKlockster Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 A loop on a 2d drawing from the top perspective has a Z shape. What the reporter saw were definitely helices. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 http://www.daytondailynews.com/hp/content/...8kirideweb.html OMG,Still no name given.Im dissapointed. The park basically gave you the name of the coaster on one of the signs they had posted on the 4th. I'm EXTREMELY shocked that no one has picked up on it. Quote

What have you figured out? Quote
PhantomTheater Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Ride Sally Ride are lyrics from Mustang Sally, so could it be the Mustang. Quote
iChase Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Mustang seems really plausible to me but I could be completely off base. Ryan, a confirmation perhaps? Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 There were several different signs. Some of which dropped clues, some intentionally misled. When the doors of perception are cleansed things will appear as they truly are. Quote
