RailRider Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Questioned that purchase from day one. You might want to be a little hesitant about purchasing a ride when it was the receipient of an emergency unload platform. Quote
KIBeast Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Aren't Vekomas infamous for valleying? Reason I ask is the article is not showing up for me. Quote
teenageninja Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 All Boomerangs (whether inverted, giant, standard) are notorious for stalling at either the cobra roll or inbetween the loop and and second hill. Quote
KIBeast Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 (edited) I just didn't see that as anything major considering they all do that. I don't call that little incident enough to say, well, they shouldn't have bought that one. Now, if it winds up havng major downtime, then there's a case. Edited August 7, 2008 by KIBeast Quote
Shman Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Ironic....especially given the fact that Silverwood didn't buy the e-platform. In fact I think I remember reading that they were told there were some changes made to the coaster that would make it un-necessary.....guess not. Quote
RailRider Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Well DejaVu was epsecially known for valleying, more so than your normal boomer. Quote
Shaggy Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I don't recall Invertigo at KI ever stalling in the cobra roll. I do know that it's valleyed between the lift and vertical loop, as well as at both ends of the station. Shaggy Quote
RailRider Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I cant recall it every stalling either at the cobra roll. That was the big issue with DejaVu, hence the Evac Platform in the middle of the cobra roll. Quote
welchce Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Buyer beware, I guess. How much did they pay for it? I looked and couldn't find anything. According to Wikipedia, the coaster would often stall in the middle of the ride. Could they not find someone/thing better than Wikipedia or is that finally a reliable source? Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I wonder how many HOURS it felt like to be stranded up there, only to find out it was only ten minutes Quote

This is true, thats why they built the evac platform in the middle of the cobra roll. Evac Platform You know its a reoccuring issue when you spend the money to build a platform to retrive riders because the coaster stalls all the time. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 It didn't stall all the time. Only because to do so, that would have required it to actually be open to stall! Quote
KDCOASTERFAN Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I don't recall Invertigo at KI ever stalling in the cobra roll. I do know that it's valleyed between the lift and vertical loop, as well as at both ends of the station. Shaggy Yeah,I've never heard of two face stalling in the cobra roll either....sure it's stalled between the loop & second lift on one occasion & has parked itself on the first lift three times so far but never in the cobra roll. tigellinus Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Buyer beware, I guess. How much did they pay for it? I looked and couldn't find anything. According to someone who posted this on Cbuzz, a Seattle/Washington newspaper claimed Silverwood paid 20x the purchase price to transport it and install it....and then a different article claimed SF sold it for $200K....so $200,000 to buy and $4,000,000 to transport and install. Hendrick Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 When a coaster does stall between the loop and the boomerang, how do they get the train back to the station? I've always wondered this. Quote
KIBeast Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Some of you guys are really going over the edge on this one. The coaster valleyed, which is a problem with most of these types of rides. If it was breaking down on a regular basis, you might have a case. Quote
